Thanks for the lesson! Listen to Andy's playing in this documentary at 1 hour, 10 minutes 56 seconds, it's fantastic! The Police - Outlandos to Synchronicities Documentary
Chorus is as beautifully played as written Sting and Summers did great work. Jon you kicked it. My struggle is old man fingers and young man desire, why did I not start at 12 rather than 69.
My fav song by Mr Sumner...still find it amazing we all got to hear most mornings what was being put together for the future, after he would come into class half asleep..knackered from the night befores gig somewhere over the toon no doubt. Miss ya everyday Kev(Rigsby) RIP
Well spotted . Look , he even uses a 6 string guitar like Marty , even holding it the same right-handed way . He uses his fingers to fret notes & chords - where did he get that idea ? I think you know . He doesn't have the beard - obviously a devious way of trying to put us off his sneaky ways .

You could play the high E with the F chord on the chorus, makes it an Fmaj7. Fits in nicely with the melody.

I think the Dm should be a Dm7. Just a thought. Great lesson by the way.

Just goes to prove you don’t need a highly complex chord structure to write a great song!!
Only came here to call you out on biting Marty music style. Literally the same background and hat. Find your own way man.
