One of those songs that I'd never figure out in a million years if I didn't see you just now. Thanks.
😄 Good call, man!
Such a super lesson....to the point instructions...no aimless banter.... BRILLIANT
This a great lesson of one of my favourite Police songs. Thanks for putting this together.
you are absolutely killing it with these Police lessons..... thanks and keep 'em coming!
Thanks... I shall :-)
I like the way you chuckle every time you mention the sharp eleven... 😀
I went searching for this song tutorial because of the intriguing chord progression. Thanks for showing me how easy it is.
Brilliant guitar lesson…..Thank you! 👍👍
Spectacular lesson!!! Been wanting to play this since forever! 👍👍
Is a real fun one to play for sure :-)
Howard ! I want to thank you for sharing with us ... I use your lessons in combination with working with my local guitar teacher. Thanks again Howard !
Hi - That's really cool! I hope you guys enjoy the tutorials :-)
Thank You doing this song. One of my favourite Police songs. Your teaching method is wonderful.
Thanx :-)
Pure Jazz by Andy Summers…
This has some really awesome sounding chords, thankyou for the lesson.
Andy Summers was pretty awesome.
The drums, I hear, were done in one take, not the rest; which apparently took months to track. Can basically thank Stuart for the spirit of spontaneity behind this brilliant track!
Always loved the morbid lyrics woven into a pop song. Pretty genius if you ask me. Thanks Howard. You read my musical mind and I love learning guitar from you 🤙
Thanks so much :-)
Great breakdown subbed!!!
Thanks for the sub!
Superbe Howard merci pour ton partage
An observation about Andy: I've been playing the verse and finding the dissonance so jarring but then I played it with chorus and a little reverb and it sounds beautiful. Go figure.
Thank you much for your instruction. It is great and incredible the way you got it.
You're very welcome!
Tele sounding sweet, thanks. Good lesson and a goal 🥅
very awesome .. thanks!
Awesome, very clear & detailed lesson! The Police was probably at its jazziest in this track.
Thank you... and yes, they were :-)

Good job. Sounds great. I just need to practice
It takes a lot of practice...but if i can do it...anyone can.
thanks for the technique
Thanks!
Thanks for the great lesson, it helps a lot. (The second chord is a Bbsus2/A, not sus4, though I'm sure everyone gets it right from your charts anyway)
nice thnks brother
Incredible lesson. Extremely helpful. I'm blown away by the verse's circular chord progression. And, I love the walk up /down bass lines between the shimmering jazz chords. After watching u instruction I had to memorize the verse first which took about 15 min to memorize (add another year to perfect LOL) Then I moved to the Chorus rather than try to learn in one sitting. Most of these chords r new to me. You are an amazing instructor. Back in the day I could never figure this one out just by listening to the cassette of the "Synchronicity" album. If I remember correctly "Murder" was a bonus track only on the cassette version of the album.. BTW: Can I ask how u learned to play this fantastic song? Thanks. Big Up!
Hi - I actually learned it back in the day. I was on the road gigging when it came out... I remember sitting in the band house picking it off. I'd been into Jazz and Fusion since my teens, so the chords weren't all that new to me. Having said that, I used to play the first two chords a bit differently :-) I straightened that out over time. Andy Summers brought a lot to the Police... A whole sound and approach that was copied by many at the time. Thanks so much for watching.
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart Yes he did.
hey man , yer a great teacher , I picked this up first go after being intimidated at by this tune since it came out, that and I've been so totally fixated on Stuart all along , there's nobody to really compare that guy to, he's his own brand all the way , on the real side I'm a rock/ metal guitar player so back in the day Sting was just not doin it for me, but I'm surprised how I've grown to really really love The Police !! if it's good shit , it's just good shit!!.... like yer teaching skills , thanks bud !!!
Thanx so much!
F’n awesome 👏!
Thanx :-)
wow! What a tutorial and beautiful chords! Police's masterpiece.
Thank you :-)
No wonder they used this in the film Copycat. So evil and sinister as you say lol. But thank you for this tutorial. Going to learn this and hopefully scare the neighbours 😄
Sounds like a plan :-)
I wonder if this guy likes the police lol
Thanks!
Thanks for your support :-)
