- IN THIS VIDEO I AM GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO TIE 3 EASY HIGH LOW POMPANO RIGS. These rigs can be used for Pompano, Red Fish, Whiting, Bass or any other type of bottom fishing. These fishing knots range from super easy to the more complex T KNOT. I use these rigs mostly while surf fishing, but they can be used in many applications. If using this rig for whiting I recommend a smaller hook and weight. This is an easy do it yourself high low rig that you wont be fighting the tangles. Beach fishing is one of my favorites when Pompano fishing Florida. I hope this video helps you catch more fish! Tight Lines!!
I use this pompano rig often with and without floats.
In this video I will answer all of the below questions.

Really good video, short into the point, thank you. BTW, the knot you used to tie the barrel swivel on is the improved clinch knot.
Fantastic video!! Lots of great info and easy to follow instructions!! 🙌 anticipating more to come. Hell yeah!
Thank You!
I’ll give it a try. Thanks For the tip !
Thank You.

Lots of good information!
Mikethefisherman Thank you!
simple and direct to point. thx.
You are welcome! I try to get the information to you guys in a clear way without wasting your time. Thanks for your feedback
Thanks for the tips man! I'd also like to see some videos of you catching plus ways to prepare them for dinner.
I plan on doing some catch and cook videos in the near future👍
When you put the loop through the hook, come in on the same side as the point(like you did on the first hook in the video). This makes the circle hook want to grab better. When you come in the through the back(as in the last 2 hooks), you are left with the hook hanging backwards and makes it a bit more difficult to hook the fish. Thanks for the tip of twisting line. I had never seen that...
Thank you! i do it that way when I tie my rigs for fishing, but its difficult with a camera between the rig and myself. I do appreciate the tips. Thank you for watching
The twisting technique works wonders brother!
Yes sir 👍

DOUBLE T KNOTS BOTTOM RIGS. THANKS BRO.
Alberto Reyes Yes sir! Thank you!
Alberto Reyes Yes sir! Thank you!
I just tried your knots with 20lb test just to practice. I could pull out a tree stump before the knot failed. Thank you very much for the advice. in 6 days I will be pomp fishing just southeast of Panama City. Wish me luck! Pompano are delicious. With your rig I figure I will eat well.
Glad to help! They are very strong! One tip I have learned since this video is the bottom one can be raised up to about 18 inches from the weight to hook up on more pompano than whiting. I’m glad to help! Thanks for your support brother 🤙
Hi d boos what’s up I will love to see you make a Diamond bead lure & test it at the beach 🏖 ok 👌 cool 😎,.

I'm about to set out on Mobility Scooter adventures in Mobile Alabama, places I can ride my scooter to, local fishing spots, places of interest, the amazing Architecture this 300+ year old city has! Fishing spots where Alligators have taken stray dogs, my scooter only runs 22 mph I hope it will out run the gators (LOL) I'm a 71 year old 15 year Cancer and 2 time heart attack survivor! And I'm out to have fun after being stuck in a 4mph wheelchair for 3 years, now that I can go 22 mph I'm going to go the whole 36 miles this scooter will go everyday(lmao) My health has held me down but now I'm going to get her done buddy! Just starting my channel I like your content 👍👍
Enjoy sir! I’m glad you are more mobile and can explore again 👍
Just subscribed... Great tutorial.. Thank you... Does it make any different if you use Flourocarbon on the leader? And what bait do you use for the Pomp?
PhongMike Thank you! I use floro because I think the fish see it less, but I have friends that swear by mono for the money. As far as bait. Shrimp or Sandfleas. The fish bites work well also.
@@thetravelingangler3368 That's uncertain about Fluoro line but I use it anyway... Good luck on your next fishing trip
I tried this and found myself hanging from a ceiling fan, Is there a fourth, fifth or fifteenth way. Ha Hah, for real though, that is a good instruction video. Thanks.
Its a bit to take in at once. I prefer to pause and play as I go when learning from how to videos. I also watch them a few times while practicing. Thanks for watching
nice video!!! where do you buy your floats?
I try local tackle shops. Usually I can find them. There are many places online as well
I put the playback speed on 1.25x and it is perfect
Foghorn95 I do talk a bit slow 🤣🤙
yes. l know the T knot also as the garlic knot.
+Fred Fable Thanks for the info 🤙
Garlic knot 🤔
@@JamesWhite-tg4kw
Yes, that's the name I knew it before this post (and others copying this name)
Actually I have no idea how the garlic knot came up.
Well, the name "T" knot is very appropriate, but you know, things change with time.
For example; The most celebrated knot, the "Uni" knot, used to be called "The grapevine knot". (More appropriate , because is not created by humans, is created by a grapevine, actually, hundred millions years before human existence) is a good name created in the Miami herald around 70's calling "The universal" (UNI) knot.
I love both names, but is amazing finding this knot created by nature very often...
Regards.
Fred.
So, the surf is a little rough and I know the fish are way out there. I want to use a 4/5oz sinker to hold bottom and get some extra distance. How do I keep the rig from snapping if I put some oomph into the cast?
Chris MacDonald I would use a heavier line if it’s snapping. I only snap off rigs casting when my reel closes mid cast. I haven’t really had an issue with line strength without reel closing. Hope this helps
The pompano and Whiting are in the first cut right by shore.
Heavier casting leader. One and a half rod lengths.
can you put a link to the rig floats so I can buy some?
PR Riddlem www.walleyesupply.com/rig-floats-3-8-uv-rainbow-scale/. There are many colors on this site
The knot tied to the swivel looked like a barrel knot.
Malcolm X
Malcom X?
what number of the hook, you didnt say?
Moises Transfiguracionjr 1/0 circle hook
Moises Transfiguracionjr At 39 seconds there is a detailed list of what I use. Hope this helps👍
Where is the best coordinates for pompano out in destin florida??
peter c Find a cut with a rip current. Cast close, middle of cut and one as far as you can. Then if you get action in a zone cast another rod there. If those get action then move all rods to that zone. As far as coordinates sandbars and structure changes with currents and storms so without being there now I cannot give exacts. Plus that takes the fun out of fishing. Good luck 🤙🎣
@@thetravelingangler3368 I'm going in a boat so wondering if there is rock piles, sunken boats etc that are good to fish?
From what I know they run the beaches so on a calm day you can probably work the same areas with a jig and teaser. They run inside Pensacola pass so I’m assuming the same with Destin. The jetty gets pretty rough at times but they may run that as well. I have mostly fished them from the beach though. There are a lot of public numbers outside destin pass. I went 30 miles out on New Year’s Day down there and had good luck, but I was not going for pompano.
What type of fish would you like to catch? Just Pomp’s?
@@thetravelingangler3368 pompano, snapper, etc the good stuff =)
Cool video. I was looking for a way to use the 'Twizzled loop'. Barrel swivels are just line joiners. Absolutely useless junk that doesn't swivel. Complete waste of money. You're better off with nothing. Use quality Japanese branded swivels. And just do a loop for the sinker. Another surgeons knot.
That’s what I do now. Good suggestion!
Your Uploaded video is a good time.
Ease your stress with a Ukrainian/Russian music video.

markboero ?
Very good, why fish biting the bait but not being caught on the hook?
Casting the bait off probably or small bait fish that can’t get the hook in the mouth. Try fish gum. It stays on the hook better
