Actually…the letter 'h' is often used to test line height on a typewriter because it is tall and has both ascenders (parts that extend above the x-height) and descenders (parts that extend below the baseline), making it a good representative for evaluating the spacing between lines.

I'd pretty much decided to swear off Royals altogether, because I hadn't figured out how to fix this pervasive, persistent problem. Please keep doing this good work! Now I get to go try to revive those machines I'd practically given up on.

I have a LOT of royals that have this wandering l margin but haven't seen the fix demonstrated. Thanks for that.
