. BEWARE , check the qp 1st, if those are good back to back, DO NOT LOOSEN THOSE SCREWS This will be a Individual alignment on those bars/slugs Only... .
Glad I saw this. I was thinking of removing that plate on a electra 110 that types perfectly just to clean it. That's dirt i can live with, thank you very much.
Awesome. I just got a 1964 Smith Corona Sterling from ebay that looks great and works AMAZINGLY. Just a few letters are misaligned and that's it. I actually just spoke to you on the phone a couple weeks ago about my 1947 Sterling that will need some work. I'll be contacting you again soon! Couldn't find anyone local from the link you sent. Thanks for the instructional videos!
@@remyvegamedia You can post pictures on the Facebook typewriter maintenance group There are a handful of experts including me that can help analyze what type of alignment might be necessary.
@@phoenixtypewriter2136 Oh that sounds great. I'll have to use my fiance's profile, but she won't mind haha. Thanks again Duane. You're a real life wizard.
They should have done what other vendors did and put a chromed cover plate up front and pins and rear screws below so it isn't removable without considerable deliberate effort.
Yeah those Olivetti's have been known to have trouble with the characters on the extreme sides of the basket. Olivetti's don't have any type guide issues , so what happened to the SCM can't happen to the Olivetti But not uncommon for individual type bar slugs to get out-of-alignment

@@phoenixtypewriter2136 Thanks! They are misaligned a decent amount, but I don't think I'm gonna do anything to it haha. Not for a while at least.

I've had issues with the q on my Olivetti Lettera 32. I fixed it by rebending the q bar from 2 different points

Is that a Selectric I can hear "purring" away in the background?
