Many missed the best joke in this sketch, at 5:35 shows Chamberlein in 1938 proudly waving a worthless piece of paper of Munich agreement on which Hitler "promised" that after anexing Chezch land he won't make any more demands. Hence Britain's best pre war joke

The best joke is on you for showing you haven't even the faintest clue as to what you're talking about, although you 'think' you do. 🤣
But I'm not surprised, considering you don't even know how to spell 'Czech'. 🙄

In response to Belinda: Monty Python is widely considered the cleverest, funniest and/or most brilliant comedy troupe of the 20th century, or very close to it. When I say "widely considered" I mean across generations, nationalities and cultures.
The point I am making however, is not to defend them (as if they needed me to). The point I am making is specifically for your benefit: When you are a person who goes through life honestly believing that dismissing the perspective of vast groups of different people is wise, you have a problem. It is a very limiting, and ultimately an unhappy, form of arrogance that allows you think your own limited viewpoint so trumps others that you regard all others' views as worthless.
Give yourself a chance not by liking Monty Python but simply by recognizing that when many other people come to a conclusion on their own and in an honest way, there is value in their collective viewpoint. You are always free to disagree, but when you are so dismissive it is only you who suffers from a lack of perspective. Incidentally you also lose credibility when you try to defend your position.

"Wenn ist das Nunstuck git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beiherhund das Oder Die Flipperwaldt gersput!" The joke contains a number of nonsensical pseudo-German words, and does not translate into anything meaningful.

It so goes to prove that the Germans during WWI may have a funny bone, but not a sense of humor.

The History Department would like to point out that the images in this sketch correspond not to WWI, but WWII. It warrants mention that Great Britain lacked the technology and resources to mass-produce a good joke until the early 1940's; the first German translation of one such joke did not appear until 1944.
Correction: The first British mass-produced joke actually dates back to October 1938, credited to then-Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.

Dennis Chiu That's alright, but it does prove that they lack sense of humor due to that failed retaliation.

Why does Fox News keep saying its News?
Why does Congress keep meeting if its obvious partisan behavior won't allow anything to occur?
[I neglected to use specific Democrat examples because you already took that aligned shot]

When they were deciding on a name for their show, Michael Palin wanted it to be called "Gwen Dibley's Flying Circus". He had spotted the name Gwen Dibley in a magazine and thought it would be funny for her to discover she had her own TV show! (How *she'd* have reacted to this being her own TV show is anyone's guess) Obviously, that did not happen, but they occasionally would slip "Dibley" into their sketches. In this case, the Joke was written in a home on Dibley Road!
