@@ThomasonCG Well he said he was watching Illumina on his other monitor. I doubt he synced up Illumina's WR to the start of his run... probably just had his stream on. (that is assuming he wasn't just memeing)

@@ThomasonCG It happened with Illumina and Benex back in 1.14. Both of them completed world record runs within 3 seconds of each other (Benex first and then Illumina). The Benex run probably would've been the shortest lived WR ever but Illumina's in-game time was found to be higher when re-timed so record eventually went to Benex.

I'm just picturing the mods watching his first run, making sure there's no cheating or anything then TwoLetterName being like:
"Hey, I beat the WR again"

4:40 no, he didn't go to the monument because it was within spawn chunks, so even on 2rd the elder guardians would still be loaded and would give him mining fatigue anyways

As someone who's been clinically depressed for over a year and a half and has been in multiple behavioral hospitals for suicidal thoughts and once for attempting suicide, I don't take kindly to people invalidating other people over mental health reasons you don't know shit about considering you never even met this person.

Requirements for speedrunner: 20/20 eyesight, 300 IQ, fast reaction time, and terrible skin.

The best 1.16 RSG run ive seen, TwoLetterName played it almost perfectly. The fact that Couriway could only shave just 2-3 minutes in a SSG run says a lot
the fact that i was watching him because i felt like he had potential and actually spoke to him makes me feel nothing but happiness. I’m proud of him and what he has done
Secretly TWT is glad for all the clout he can farm due to all these new speedrun innovations.

I came from his video just now. I watched it closely and I saw no cuts, nothing sketchy, looked like a solid and clean world record run. I bet more and more people will be popping up like this!

The craziest thing about his run is that, even with optimization, the seed would only be around a 9-10 minute run. That means TLM was nearly perfectly optimized on a RSG.
The problem i have with evaluating optimization comparisons is what is seen as playing the seed optimally? Knowing the seed, so knowing where all the things are (chests, lava, bastion, fortress, stronghold etc.) and then optimizing with the known data sure could improve the time by propably over 3 minutes. But from the way he played the seed with the information he had at each individual moment, i think there was only around a minute he could have shoved away with perfect mechincal and strategic execution.
@@ProkopfDreams by optimization I meant the fastest way to play the seed, knowing all information. Couriway did it and got like a 9 something. So less than 3 minutes of possible optimization
@@vahgarimo9864 ah okay. Yeah but the term "possible" is a bit argueable. I would differentiate between time that is possible with the particular seed having all the information, and time just playing the seed better on a microlevel, like perfect mechanical play, perfect strategic micro decisions etc. The latter improvement is signifcantly lower. As you stated initially, for an RSG run that was near pretty darn close to flawless execution.

These types of videos just make me wonder about all the amazing players we'll never know about, whether they're too nervous to make themselves known, don't care to, or have no idea what the world record is or if they beat it, or even know other people do it in the first place.
