I'm confused why they choose Bridgerton over The Crown. Bridgerton is fictional. The Crown took artistic liberties when making it, but it's a far more accurate depiction.
Yeah when I saw British royalty I thought it would be on The Crown, too.
Bridgeton also depicts a 19th century multiracial England. There were only small pockets of ethnic minorities and none were part of the aristocracy.
Yep it's completely messing with history and is ridiculous. Why didn't they use The Crown....or here's an idea, the actual factual documentary The Windsors that is actually on Netflix......

You should show the real side of the royal family, its not at all happy; Also the crown is more realistic than bridgerton it exaggerates stories about the royal family and isn't 100% accurate but its the best look at the royal family that we have gotten so far.
This is so interesting! But some of the information you supplied them is a ~little~ misguided so if anyone in the comments is interested:
- The King/Queen doesn’t have any power in running the actual country, they mostly just do they mostly just do the formal ceremonies and charity events, like holding garden parties for rich people and visiting children’s hospitals. The country is fully run by the Prime Minister & the parliament.
- Bridgerton is completely American made/written and while entertaining, is wholly historically inaccurate to the British Regency era. They just went for a vague regency theme and made it super gaudy I guess?
Jane Austen adaptions, The Duchess, The Crown, The Other Boleyn Girl, Downton Abbey, The Paradise, Great Expectations are great alternatives. :’)
- If a King is crowned, he is the main “ruler” and his wife becomes Queen. If a Queen is crowned, she is the main “ruler” and her husband becomes Prince Regent (not King, like most think.) Regardless, Prime Minister still runs the show, lol.
- Most British families aren’t too invested in the royal family and you’re seen as kind of weird if you love them too much. They’re like a bit of an afterthought to us. Sure it’s fun when there are big celebrations and traditions but at the same time we really can’t be bothered to change the channel on Christmas day to watch her speech because Ice Age 2 is on, and you only really see anything about them if you’re walking past a cheap gossip mag stand and read “ROYAL CRISIS: KATE IN A BIKINI???? 😱😱😱” on your way to the checkout.

All royalty does nothing rly except party, ride horsies and donate money. Queen does less than that cus she old bro. Queen’s husband = Prince Regent. Bridgerton: no. British ppl are only mildly interested in royal family & mostly joke about them.

1. The Royal family brings money to the country in several ways
2. They earn their money from their busnisses
3. They give some of their properties to make profit for the state
4. The Monarch (Queen Elizabeth II) plays a big part for building realtionship with other countries
5. The Royals do pay their taxes.
6. The amount of the tax that the Brits have to pay for them is below 1 dolar. And those taxes are used to help maintaning the palaces. But it's worth it, because the palaces are tourists attractions and used to make state dinners or welcoming world leaders, which is the part of building relationships.

I’m from the UK and everything they have said is all back in the days. And the royal family are hardly happy. Most of the time they’re depressed and fulfilling their royal duties. No royal in Britain now wears tight dresses like that or waistband. They just wear normal luxury everyday clothes. And also the most famous royal to me is PRINCESS DIANA. The goddess! If you’re into the real life of royals then please watch ‘The crown’ and ‘story of Diana’ on Netflix. It is truly amazing. But I am disappointed that they showed Brighterton as British royal example. That show is fictional! Not educating enough about the history. ‘The crown’ shows what the royals are really like- once you start watching it you can’t stop. Also very educational.

I'm from Britain and its funny watching these kind of videos as most people here don't really care about the royal family, she's more of a figurehead that brings in tourism, she doesn't have any power really that's left up to the government. Honestly i think we all lost a bit of respect for them on the way they handled the Meghan Markle situation. Poor woman was getting racially abused in the newspapers and treated horribly, ultimately they had enough and left and none of the royal family looked out for her or harry. Not to mention, most say the queen had Diana killed, she was the true peoples princess.

Do some research, have them watch a legitimate documentary on the history of Royalty in the UK e.g. on the Plantagenets or Stuarts or Tudors or Windsors or medieval Kings and some facts on the Crown Estate and then film a video.
