    • @Mlspky
      @Mlspky Год назад

      I’ve found self watering pots cause roots to stay too wet. It keeps soil at the bottom too wet and soil near the top not wet enough. It’s best to top water so ALL the soil gets watered thoroughly and can wash all the minerals and salts out.

  • @CameliaSong

  • @juanmacias4854
    @juanmacias4854 11 месяцев назад

    Good video, but disagree on watering. On my first Fig plant I followed the said advice above and nearly lost it to too much watering. What I found through trial and error, is that the plant loves a lot of water but likes to dry out. As such I water mine profusely outside, soak it for about 5 minutes with water running out the bottom. Why, this takes out all the salts in the soil. I then let it drain for 15 to 3 minutes, take it inside and put it into its decorative pot. There it sits growing and looking beautiful for about a month. At the month cycle I test the soil, if it's still registering moist, I let it go another week. Once it registers to the dry side (water meter), I repeat the watering process. My first Fig has grown to over 7 feet and has grown 3 additional branches. Hope this helps.
