The usb type c also does wired Android auto
Do they have a trim made for a 2004 chevy Silverado?
What year your Ford is? Also if you had SYNC, did removing your original deck caused issues?
Thank you
I have the sony 5500 wish it was wireless didnt feel like searching or buying kenwood or pioneer might have to in future tho..but i currently am ok with what i have idk how long chip shortage will last.
About time they fixed their previous UI. AT LAST YOU CAN SCROLL THROUGH THE MENU, WE ARE FREE!
Is there anything to help angle it towards the driver?
Whats up with those bezels?
I have a 2018 xl I would love to put this in, but I believe crutchfield said it wouldn't fit.
We can always double check! Crutchfield is a good company but sometimes they don’t have enough information.
If you're running the 4" screen you're gonna need a double-din dash kit to make it work. If you have the 8" Sync3 it'll fit just fine.
Have you put this in the newer body style Silverado yet?
Not yet! We don’t know if they have an aftermarket dash kit for the truck yet!
@@sonicsoundva7509 well someone needs to hurry the hell up and make one! Lol I’d happily pay for a new head unit installed over getting a new truck.
needs to lose that analog clock in the middle of the screen 😅
Can this fit in the 3rd Gen Tacoma
I don’t see why not. I think it can be done with no problem!
I know this question is a year old, but yes I just installed in my 2021 Toyota Tacoma
Regarding the USB: You can plug in a USB-C flash drive (or get a C to A adapter) loaded with music and leave it. Navigation of your music on the drive is easy enough since your music is as organized as you have it on the USB drive. You are not restricted to playing media wirelessly via Bluetooth/AA/AC.
Backup Camera: I had to install iDatalink's VID1 noise filter to clear up the picture. It is a *significant* difference between with and without it. It was the best $15 I ever spent.
EQ: The EQ is BURIED in the settings and is not accessible from the USB interface or AA. From the USB interface you have minimize by pressing HOME > SETTINGS > SOUND > EQ. To reach the parametric EQ it's an extra step: instead of hitting EQ, go to Advanced > Parametric EQ. Talk about a pain in the ass. Why there isn't an EQ button or even sound settings button within the USB interface blows my mind. You can't even set up one of the two custom buttons to send you to the EQ when pressed. Lame. What Sony needs to do is allow individual songs (or albums) to have it's own save-able EQ settings. Also, a more robust USB interface is in order...album view, genres, and playlist creation needs to happen. Just like Stinger's HEIGH10, Sony claims they made this HU with audiophiles in mind, but don't give us much customization options let alone easier access to the options that actually exist.
Can we take the screen out? tks
Is a fixed screen. It’s not removable
Yes you can as long as you don't install the screw that secures the face to the brain. That's what I did when I installed this HU into my 2018 F150. I can easily unplug the screen and lock it away in the center console. The screen stays secure enough into the brain that even you do a nasty 3 second 0-60 launch it won't come out.
@@angelsoftheseventhdawn is there an adjustment to move the display closer to the dash? It seems like it juts out significantly and I would want it as flush to the dash as possible
@@Crazypants415 I believe telescoping is mostly done with the brain and the brackets it uses to secure itself to the inner dash. Depending on the vehicle you're installing this HU in, you might run into clearance issues with the harnesses behind the brain. I ran into an issue with my F150 having a bracket that was welded in for the Sync 3 system which kept the brain from sliding in further. A die grinder, cutting wheel, and some damp paper towels made a clean removal of the OEM bracket.
Does the ford sync system be affected after you plug this in?
You can keep the Sync working with the Maestro Idatalink wiring harness
@@sonicsoundva7509 how do you prevent it from being stolen though??
@@MrLazlness You can detach the face as long as you don't install the screws that secure the face to the brain.
@@MrLazlness Good point. The ES9500 was not conceived with backstreet parking in mind 😂
The size of the bezel tho!
Yesssss
Like a tablet from 2011
It looks better and works better than a tablet . In my opinion
@@sonicsoundva7509 I'll wait till these units can run android apps on device, are full HD. No name brands are managing it and way way ahead.
🔥💪👍👌💯Nice Radio
🙌🙌🙌
No video playback is the killer.
Hopefully with an update later on you will be able to play video back 👌
Yeah I’m in the market for a new head unit and this is what killed it for me.
Well went with Dasaita 11.6 vivid series and it's amazing
@@Itzwerm I see it has wireless aa and acp. And a nice 1080p screen.
@@lacboiatl the screen is stunning and coupled with HDMI output gives me for flexibilty for adding additional rear entertainment. Netflix not compatible on this android version but there is an apk Netflix I’m installing today that should work. Tested Prime video, youtube, other IPTV services apps and they run flawless! Takes a while getting used to navigating the unit but its well worth it in my opinion. Wireless apple carplay works perfect along with android auto! 👍🏽
Is this compatible with Honda CRV 2016 EX? Will the side view camera works on this Head Unit?
It’s possibly by using the Metra Electronics wiring harness
Not quite sure how the side cameras operate within the UI...if it incorporates proximity sensors for auto on/off recording (like Tesla), but you can connect multiple cameras to this head unit.
Can you play video while driving?
yes you can!
Can this be installed on a Mercedes GLK possibly?
It might work! I seen other shop do a 9” screen on the GLK . This new Sony it’s a little bigger tho
Ok I know exactly where y’all are too just over 50 and Glebe pass the Dunkin’ Donuts.
Hello ,can i ask if this radio is good for a Ford Fiesta 2016?
You can fit this HU into any single/double din dash. You might need proper brackets to adjust the screen up and down, but it will work.
ugly. blocking the AC vents
It’s not for everyone! Lot’s of people like it . A lot of people hate it !
@@sonicsoundvlogs4275 10 inch looks good when it comes integrated with the dashboard.
the head unit is 1 DIN, screen mount sticks out. This is not designed to sit flush in the dash. It would obscure the buttons atop the bezel.
