2:29 The Spec Ops Ultra Grunt actually has both of the Spec Ops & Ultra backs loaded in.
I noticed that too. He said it didn't randomize the grunt's armors, but it did since there are multiple armor types for grunts in anniversary graphics.

The grunts mask also seems to overlap. If you look closely at the middle mouth tube, you can see a third of the circle in a blue glow of the tube right below the normal one.

@@cyborg-mark-vi also on the topic of the face masks: spec ops grunts have full-face masks, but others don't. So this guy has the spec ops and normal mask, spec and norm tank, and ultra colors. This grunt is Yap Yap the destroyer.
He's trying his best with what he's got, Kidd, mass human genocide doesn't just happen all by itself.
So there is an Elite, a Brute, and a Grunt. This gives me two questions.
1.) Are there any Jackals, Drones, or Hunters with these transformations in the campaign?
2.) Can you create Jackals, Drones, or Hunters with these transformations?
Well no because theres only 1 variant of them unlike the other species

@@sapr0ling984 actually there are 3 different Jackal types which all have different colored armor. Minors have blue armor with blue shields, majors have gold armor with gold shields, and snipers have grey armor and no shield

@-dead.channel- Ehh I guess you haven't played Halo 3 ODST ? Because on legendary difficulty there is actually some drones that have shields with a red plasma rifle and is more like orange instead of gold/yellowish like the regular drones. I dont think they are the same rank of drones as these shield drones only spawn as 1 in a group of drones. So your statement that there is only 1 type of drone is wrong.

Just a heads up the anniversary ultra grunt has the color of an ultra grunt and the armor/backpack of a regular grunt AND a spec ops grunt. If you look closely at the glitched grunt he has an extra backpack attached to him. 5:35

I just assumed the ultra grunts were back up captains in case the elites went down for the spec ops grunts.

@@thecriminalrob3428 SPV3 has usable jackal shields but no dual wielding and you can't really see anything lol.
@Dual true but then they flail around and runaway then get their shield back, I meant, could make them unequip their shield by default while keeping them hostile
I always wondered about this. What about the ultra elites halfjaw drops off on Quarantine Zone if all your original spec-ops elites die? He says something along the lines of "these are my best warriors", always found it odd that it dropped off ultras rather than spec-ops.
Bomber Harris where do you get those elites? I never knew that he’d give you ultra elites. Around what part of the mission does he give you ultra elite reinforcements and how many does he give you? Cuz that’s really cool if he gives you like 3-4 ultras
@@sleepshouter5017 If you kill all of the spec-ops elites from the start of the mission, an event is triggered where a phantom flies in and drops off 4 white elites at the start of the outside area with all the wraiths. It's a bit odd considering everyone else is a spec ops, so I'm not sure if it's another typo that sets the armour to a default white, or if they're actually intended to be ultras.
@@muwuny If the two minors die in the first fight in the mission Uprising. Then you will get two spec ops elites to replace them as reinforcements. In addition to the zealot and spec ops sword elites. It's still a nice upgrade from minors and they are also better than majors since they made more frequently
Those are standard Elites. You most likely had Thunderstorm Skull to have Ultras. It is stupid the Phantom doesn’t drop off Spec Ops
@@Designation6 They're never regular elites for me, even without thunderstorm.
If you look at it in anniversary graphics you can tell it’s using the base grunt head model in addition to the spec ops head as a layered variant. Clearly a glitch. You can see the double face masks and the head clipping through the mask.

it's funny, the zealot glitch was a blatant case of "is this right? no? screw it we ship tomorrow, it's good enough!" while the grunt was a case of "yo dude, is it supposed to be an ultra? I'unno, i think so? looks better than a cloned ally I guess"

A few glitches variants do exist in canon. 343 made the honor guard counselors canon. So possibly the ultra spec ops grunt could be canon

Yes. I believe they are now the "Lights of Sangheilos" honor guards. Basically the best honor guards
Xer the T'vaoan, their not called Honor Guard Councilers And they appear already in Classic Halo 2 Cutscenes without Helmets and as dead bodies.

I always thought that it was another really cool armor Glitch, the way it has more lights on the armor and the extra armor pieces on the goggles looks so cool to me.

if you just looked at the white grunt you would recognize the middle extension (spike) that the regular ultra grunt (H2A) has. Its another fusion of the two skins...
Halo reach: that one jackal on the pillar of autumn that has a plasma rifle rather than the needles or plasma pistol
Hopefully that’s intentional since the Heavy Grunts in Sword Base have Plasma Rifles
There's a pair that appears on delta halo in halo 2 where you would park the scorpion and where the two hidden swords are. They pop out as you come into the area. Both wielding plasma rifles. Probably easy to miss since I imagine most would give them a tank shot.

Angel Diaz the Remastered are the ugly Halo 3 Grunts but armor itself is damn good and with the classic Halo 2 voice I gotta give it to Anniversary.

@@tylerellis9097 yeah. Maybe 343 will use both of them like the spec ops for more heavier weaponry and the regular grunts I like for basic weaponry.
Revisit skipping half of Shutdown in Halo 4 (not sure name of the level, it’s the one where you fly the pelican)
Also, is there any way to fly a pelican in Halo 3 without mods?
Idk if you can fly, one (in h3) but you can jump on top of one during the jetpack brute area (mission 3) you can kinda ride on top of it for a while... idk if that helps. In halo reach you can fly one in the mission where you fly around the cities just look up: "fly pelican in halo reach" hope that helps :)

Can you find out why there’s no dual wielding elites in master chief collection? Idk if anyone ever noticed but there’s missions where you get elites with 2 weapons but in mcc they are never there. Hell even in this mission you are showing there’s a dual wield elite in the remastered cutscene but once the mission starts he only has one gun.
I blame Halo 2 Vista, a PC version which was used for MCC

It's funny because I always thought this grunt wasn't a generic ultra, even back in OG Halo 2 days when it didn't look any different. Just based on the fact that it's a part of the spec ops team, in the same way that the shipmaster has the pearly white armor and was leading the spec ops team I think young me thought this grunt was in some kind of similar role. Until you pointed it out I didn't even notice the difference in H2A!
Could you look into the merged combat/assault armor elites on Floodgate in Halo 3? Since you've been looking at mistyped actor variants in game files recently, I'm curious exactly how a variant was called where it has both the combat and assault helmet simultaneously.
Those elites can also be half jaws with or without the merging too.

I like to think the armour grunts and covenant wear are put together and made by grunt workers and a big brute sees over them all and one day a grunt thought “what if I match the white and black?” And he made this armour and then it was shipped to these phantoms where the elites gave the grunts their armour and then picked up the white and black armour and thought “this is strange... screw it it does the same job as the rest they won’t care” and gave it to a grunt who was super happy with it 😂
Always assumed the ultra grunt was just a higher ranking version of the ultra so he got the mask

Sometimes an Ultra Grunt spawns. It's a SpecOps Grunt with an Ultra model.

Just thought I'd mention that you can find at least one more of these Ultra/SpecOps Grunts in the game. Near the beginning of the first Rally Point (when "Please Make Yourself at Home"), you can find another one of these guys lying dead on the floor.

I wouldn't guess the Anniversary one is randomized either. It's more likely that the Anniversary code retroactively changes all "spec_ops" Grunt variants to have the "two blocky spikes" model, while not affecting color. So it sees a "spec_ops_dog", detects that as a Spec Ops Grunt, and gives it the Spec Ops Grunt model, without caring about the exact variant being incorrect. Then the original H2 code stumbles into the missing variant and gives it the default white color.

Since you’re checking out weird shit, can you see what’s up with the permanently cloaked Spec Ops Elites at the end of Gravemind? The only time Spec Ops Elites use camo is during scripted events, for example, between battles like in The Arbiter & the one at the beginning of Uprising
The honor guard ultra elite and the spec ops ultra grunt are canonical. Mostly because these typos wrought some interesting results, so Bungie just rolled with the idea. So, while not being an official rank possible in Halo 2, they are still a rank canonically

Typically people make typos despite key distances from one another when thinking about two things at once. They were probably talking to someone about adding elite dogs into the map whilst they were making those two grunts spawn, so they got it mixed up and typed "dog" instead. Happens to everybody.

A grunt is a grunt to me... interesting seeing all of this. Being an old time halo player I probably noticed different grunts but not as much as the elites and brutes... can't really remember tbh got to 130 on halo 5 and pretty much stopped a little while after that. Liked reach more but never had a xbox one I might get one just to play a little halo idk :p definitely miss it
I have viewed & seen videos of your and watched a few, really wouldn't expect to see all of the thing's you have pointed out. Real cool. Kinda hard to watch stuff about the halo 2 campaign makes me miss those times so much 😆 I'd bring an xbox wherever I went just to play the campaign
the "dop" and "dog" refer to the dopey and dogmatic voice variants for the elites and grunts, I would imagine a developer typo between the 2 ID's would be the most likely case.
Minor grunts have curved tanks major grunts have spiked tanks so that grunt is a major ultra grunt

Be able to use the BR, Hornet, Chopper, Prowler, Brute Shot, Brute Plasma Rifle, SMG, equipment, Carbine, Beam Rifle, and more in Reach. Be able to mix and match stuff between Halo games where it makes sense. Space warfare modes. Custom campaigns. Naval combat modes. And so much more.

Designation5 How do you know? MastersZ made a Sparrowhawk for Halo CE. In Halo SPV3. Hijacking among a lot of other things were also added.
PackHunter117 It was made w/Custom Edition, a version made for modding so he had free reign whereas MCC is owned by 343 & Micro$oft so I doubt they’ll let modders go that far... unless they do a mod pay system that other games have. I believe one of the Fallout games had a system like that. If I’m mistaken, my bad. I do hope Micro$oft does give players free reign but I highly doubt it
They should patch it. They kind of ruin the experience but the grunts in the anniversary they look cooler even if its the wrong grunt.
I never notice this because as soon as that grunt jumps out the ship he gets jumped by popcorn flood and dies so I just keep moving

Why cant marines be fused? It's always Covenant. Like a black armored marine with ODST helmet, or a green ODST. Though a green Army Trooper in Reach did happen when they're supposed to be brown.

I think you're worng because thise grunt model is deferent from the spec ops grunt. because the ultra variant of the spec ops grunt has lights on the horns of his back as where the ragual one do not.
If it was an accident the game file wouldn't exist meaning it would just show an error. There is a skill/game file for a _dog grunt so I think they did it on purpose

Wonder if any of these glitches explain what I experienced in Halo 2 years back. I witnessed a Hunter Honor Guard as I used to call it, and I guess it's still perhaps the most fitting name. Basically it was just a Hunter, with that signature White/Silver armor color the Elite High Councilors have, with some Elite Honor Guard Orange glowing bits and flags. Other than appearance and having the ability to use Active Camo they seemed to just be Hunters. I had already favored the Hunters to everything else in Halo, but that glitch, or whatever it was, sealed the deal for my favorite species in Halo. To this day I still haven't seen anyone have that happen to them though. I'm still waiting for an answer. Was it a one in a lifetime glitch, was my first copy of Halo 2 some kind of modified version, is there even an explanation. I often wonder, I still would like to know. If anyone finds out anything tell me please. As of now though, I'll have to accept the Hunter Captain as the best replacement for that beast, hopefully Infinite brings some kind of Upgraded Hunter Unit.

Yep that's actually caused by the same thing as all the other weird characters in Halo 2
