They should add the exhaust button, most people want just the sound not the full sport mode (because it also means stiffer suspension, rougher shifts and significantly higher fuel consumption).
That’s what I love about the 2016 and 2018 models is the sport mode start. And it never gets old.
It really doesn't those cold starts are brutal.
Waiting for 2018 to get my masi!! With the significant drop in prices (depreciation) i would be a fool not to.
That's crazy, I was wondering why it wasn't working for my 17. I press it right after I start it but still isn't the same as having it right on the start up.

I'm a little late to this party but my 2020 Levante S GranLusso will start in sport. Sounds super!
Perhaps the smallest change that Maserati made to the face-lifted Ghiblis, sounds exquisite though! Owners of cars like these in Europe will probably start them up in the comfort setting anyway since houses worth £400-500k are quite built really close to each other.
And because British people especially aren't..... the most cooperative with loud cars, owners will drive in the wealthy, sleepy neighbourhoods in the quietest settings, just to be polite. :)
Haha very true, Americans tend to like things loud dont we? Luckily I dont commute in the morning so the earliest I start my car and bug my neighbors is like 9am.
This is so true hah, forget sport mode I have never taken the Maserati out for a 4am airport run, stick to the BM for late night runs.
Is it perhaps a difference in the models? The 2018 is a GranLusso, was the 2017 a GranLusso as well?
Same for mine gransSport it starts on sport mode.. but not my previous ghibli from end october 2016 (MY2017)

ya indeed, hey Rons, I received actually the MY2019 ghibli GranSport SQ4, many difference as the shift knob it is brand new design and different to use, no more M Button, you just push the shift knob to the left to engage in M mode, the aircon- control has 2 AUTO buttons instead of one as in previous models, the door panels are also different and the carbon design is also different and many others

Was there any answer to this for 2017? I wanted to get a 2017 but not if it won't start in Sport mode. It seems like a software glitch to be honest?

Is it possible to update the 2016's Navigation interface to the 2017+ one? It looks a lot more cleaner by far. The 2016's navigation (and below) interface looks extremely dated.

Bc u have it in manual. Makes nonsense that it starts in sport from 14 to 16 not 17 and 18 again. Smh so funny how u said oh so no confusion i won't press manual on the 18. Bc it won't in manual. When i had the 14 it started in sport. U can't start in manual! My 17 gran turismo mc starts in sport. .

I start mine in Manual Sport all the time as well. 2014 Ghibli SQ4
