RS6 best looking, M5 doesnt sound like a V8, I would go with E63S just because i like the interior design. Only reason i would buy this Maserati is that it would stand out more.
Hands down, the best looking & sweetest sounding V8 sports sedan currently available. It may lose out to the Germans on build quality, cabin space & other areas, but in terms of soul, it is the king. This coming from a Merc & BMW fan, mind you.
@YaksMusic Yeah, they are some similarity but V8 ferrari for maserati cars are designed by maserati using the base of a classic ferrari v8. They don't have the very sharp sound of a ferrari engine.
It's a Ferrari F154 variant with the flat-plane crankshaft removed for a cross-plane crankshaft. While this is decent for mediocre modern exhausts, the sound isn't even what I'd call good. Maserati literally did the exact same thing to the Ferrari 458 engine for the quattroporte and listen to how that sounds... That is a god damn Maserati.
"Maserati did not allow us to do any acceleration tests" They literally do an acceleration test with tacho footage just without showing dragy. Guys you did just the right thing :D
This is the engine the Ghibli should've had in its lineup since 2014! Sounds amazing! 😎🤘 Anyone who might say the 3.8 TT V8 doesn't sound as good as the late lamented 4.7 NA V8, yes, you're right, but remember this: that's almost how the classic 60s Maserati 4.7/4.9 V8 sounded. So it's kinda like a return to the roots. 😎🤘
True. And even though it may not sound as good as the 4.7 NA, at least IMO...it sounds better than AMG's 4.0 V8 in the current models, so muffled by noise standards.
@@Roddy_Zeh Yep, true that. The AMG M177 sounds like a completely different engine with the PPF and it certainly is a downgrade over the generous amount of crackles and lion growling of its pre-OPF state. This 3.8 V8 sounds amazing, it's just that the 4.2/4.7 V8 was just too good and it's also still very fresh in our memory to be forgotten. 😉
Nothing better then a V8 US Car engine like a Mustang with 5 Liter...a camaro with 6.3 Liter V8... That car might be fast and a nice looking interieur, but the engine-sound is lame and poor...
I love this gentleman's Channel. But he didn't explain what the car has what it doesn't have what type of engine is in it I would like to know thank you.
Not at all lol, the build quality is shit and don’t even get me started about the materials used and the thumb sized panel cabs, Maserati is far from a luxury that’s for sure.

Dodge/maserati/Alfa are both in the stellantis group (FCA). The hellcats and scatpacks with the zf8 shift quick af same with the stelvio/Giulia…..so why do they have the tuning so lazy in this iteration of the zf8 in the Maserati?
Actually this is not the gear change that is slow but the timing of the throttle kicking on back. It prevents the torque converter to slip too much, which would actually slow the acceleration time.
@@takao4491 so you're saying all torque converters are like this? just say it's bad and poorly calibrated which is exactly what it is. you're so full of it :)
@@MyRealName Good torque converters are likely to have a good inertia to give a smooth drive. ZF all behaves like this. Just type some random bimmer acceleration and see. Even the older E38's do that. It's not about calibration, it's about avoiding slipping. Because this Maserati is meant to be a comfortable saloon we are not going to fit something like a super light engine wheel because it will be a crap to drive on a daily.
And it's not hanging. The engine throttle is just cut off while shifting to avoid stupidly slipping, voiding performance and making the torque converter to heat.
@@takao4491 the fact that you just compared it to an e38 says it all. well calibrated modern transmission is way better than this and you know that. keep being a fanboy, its funny
