In the honda crf 250r 2015 sff tac air fork, will adding to the balance chamber allow me to use more suspension stroke and take away the hard stiff feeling through the entire stroke, make it more linear in braking bumps ect?
Brock , the 2015 CRF250R Showa SFF TAC Fork we run 0 psi in the balance chamber. If you are using air in balance chamber , set the balance chamber to 0psi and it will help your issue. you can email us sales@factoryconnection.com with your weight and weight and ability level and type of riding.. we can make further recommendations. You may at some point want to consider us Revalving the fork or even installing a spring kit which helps the fork performance a significant amount and no future worries about the internal seals, o-rings on the air for wearing and needing a complete air cartridge rebuild.
Question for everyone, how many times a day did you have to check your oil forks ones you got them set? This air system sucks, just got a new 2015 RM-z 450..... Really looking into buying oil forks for it
+Dan Holmes Hi Dan. With consistent air temps, you should be ok with 1-2x a day. If them temp changes a lot then you want to stay on top of them. Make sure you are using the inner-outer-balance method and the front wheel is elevated off the ground. Thanks for the comment.
If you take the time to educate yourself on how this fork works and how to properly set it up-- it’s an awesome fork! Lots of unknowledgeable people out there call it junk...
Carlos email me sales@factoryconnection.com with the year and model bike and I will give you a starting point. Also IF you have changes shock spring to stiffer spring. Thanks Steve
The forks are in need of a Rebuild. There are several Air Cartridge O-rings and Seals that can fatigue and wear. We typically stock all the parts necessary to Rebuild properly. 800-221-7560 Feel free to give us a call for a estimate, shipping box or other questions
Good afternoon. Can you give me basic info for suspension setup (Front and Rear) for my 2008 Honda CRF250R? I have 175 lbs I cannot find anything, thank you!
How much travel should be used when just statically sitting on the bike? I have '15 kx450, 6'1", 220 lbs and have tried all different settings and the fork just feels harsh. I feel like it's not planted and hard to corner because the fork isn't dropping in the stroke.
We don't put a number on fork sag. Depending on how the fork is set up this could vary quite a bit. Your feedback is common with this fork. A Revalve may be your next option and can address these areas of the fork.
Jake If another company Revalved the forks it could vary on the recommendations we would make. Maybe give us a call to discuss in more depth 800-221-7560. Here is a base line to start from.
