Basically the XYZ festival with DC formatting, no loaners, and worse prizing. Its supposed to be a casual event that is unnecessarily sweaty. I hope this is like Link Regulation where they get shamed into not doing this again because this just sounds depressing. The only thing it has going for it is that I am watching Zexal and I am in an XYZ mood.

Not really, It's just Lab is one of the few decks that doesn't even need a extra deck, yet Isn't super old, and outdated. For over a decade now, the game has been heavily based on the extra deck, so It's only natural.

If the events are used to sell selection packs, at best, it was used to sell Zeus/Typhon, one of which is a reprint. At worst, it sells Xyz Explosion, which is nothing but reprints. This could have even been a Fusion/Synchro Cup and would have made more sense for Yubel and Centurion, but more broadly speaking, these events shouldn't be cups at all. Casuals dont like how sweaty it is and no loaners. Competitive players just want a normal cup. Nobody wins.
This banlist is clown world material, for sure. Like every Monarch card ever printed is banned, but conveniently they forgot to ban Erupt. True Draco can have their stolen floodgate, but god forbid anyone normal summons Edea. Then you just have Lab basically at full power, for some reason, in an XYZ event. Ah yes, I too enjoy the Labrynth XYZ strategy of 'summon Bagooska once every 200 duels'. And to top it all off, it's a tryhard event right after the Worlds qualifiers. They did not cook, this shit is still frozen.

I think Transaction Rollback is 100% worth playing in Labrynth. It's very powerful in a trap heavy build, if you've ever seen this cards interaction with Evenly Matched it is disgusting, but even in hand trap heavy builds I always run at least 1. Being able to chain your welcome + Lady setting rollback vs duster/lightning storm is really nice, having access to a power trap in grave like Karma Cannon or IDP is very often the difference maker. Also fantastic in the Lab mirror. If you go first and set Trans Rollback off Lady, you can copy the opponents BWL and then copy your BWL in grave next turn. It's such an unfair advantage.
@@lVersatile Definitely run 2 Rollback for Trap heavy Lab. But for a hand trap heavy build it just doesn't come up as often. You could do 2 but at the expense of the occasional brick.

I'll probably end up doing what I did with the previous "Cup" events: Reach level 17, struggle to reach MAX, not reach it and go back to Ranked. What I expect to see: Zoodiac, Kashtira, Drytron, Exosister, Horus, Kragen Control, Suship, Galaxy-Eyes, Utopia FTK, Numeron OTK, The Armored XYZ package, Purrely, and probably troll decks to Kaiju/Lava Golem/stall opponents. Is that close enough?
This will be either, purrely, Kashtira and horus stun. Horus stun is the most toxic. Ban summon limit but it still have TCBOO, powersink stone, not mention Majesty fiend is at 3 copy, have power filter which ultimate stun going 1st to purrely and Mikanko. Horus stun in rank format is not strong because he need deal with snake-eyes fire king. But in XYZ cups, limited format, there is alot of way floodgate purrely Kashtira easily. XYZ deck a lot powerful OTK deck, your need to watch out, even cheaper then Mikanko. Horus stun also viable here as answer to top meta XYZ cup event, especially have power filter, powersink stone, wall of revealing light to stop any attack from Kashtira, while majesty fiend on the field. Power filter ultimate stun Mikanko and Purrely, limited using of torbie and cookclock in labyrnth to one time.
Haven't checked yet, but, surely D. Barrier & Xyz encore are banned, right? Mikanko can also play "Grisaelle Prison" since they can go for a control style (Feat Xyz armor "engine") You know they gave a fk about the event when burn is unlimited... no joke I straight up copied my current burn deck from ladder and aside of extra deck (All Signer & Topologic lol) all are legal, from Lava golem to Lady Lab Thanks Konami, you're pushing away players from this game, as they know how toxic is becoming and care for the health of their players

While Loaner Decks in Festival wildly vary in quality, they were still available for people who don't have a deck or don't wanna build a deck for this Event. This means that people with no XYZ Deck are either forced to play budget XYZ Decks like Spider OTK or Stun Variants. 2. Since it follows the Cup Reward Structure you are forced to go on a winning streak to get the rewards. While Festivals give you points even if you lose, you have to regrind victories in the Cup, especially if you get deranked in the higher Levels. 3. This is probably the worst banlist for an Event in recent times. While its true that people in the first Synchro Festival used alot of True Draco, Konami banned all their key cards in all other Extra Deck based Festivals alongside other Floodgates. Now we have to content with True Draco, Stun and Labyrinth in this Event, the latter of which has access to Rollback, Durama Cannon and Elemental Burst. Also Synchro Zone and Skill Drain are both legal in this Event.
Yep, I'm not even close to being able to build any of those decks because I have too few cards. I'm closer to being able to build shark armor and Hieratic Bystial decks. After those two, evolsaur deck (still missing cards ) and then there are no others.
It’s one of the decks that is notoriously ALWAYS legal. But for this kind of event, especially if you plan on going to phase 2, this is gonna be a snore
@TheShapestofSnatches Pure Madolche is literally a hard counter to purrely, and is the best XyS deck ingeneral(yes even without being able to summon the one link monster, It's still crazy good). It's also a hard counter to lab as well by the way.
@@BrotherHood-xh9sg Madolche has not only the best shuffler in the game, but also the best bouncer in the game(the bouncer Isn't a hard once per turn either, It's a soft once per turn). Furthermore it also has a omni face up card negate that it gets/replenishes 100% of the time, every turn for the entire match.
If there's any "silver lining" in this is that Burn decks were completely untouched this time around due to DC format, so I guess that's what I'm gonna pick for this event.
what I found most weird about this is that you have incomplete playsets of UR cards. 2 mathas, 1 Mikailis, complete lab URs but no welcome. This looks like someone who doesnt dismantle. When you run out of UR cp do you just buy gems and open packs and dismantle extra cards?

@@nonamedpleb I have over 30 basically completed decks (didn't buy the extra deckslots so not sure on the exact amount), and if you've seen some of my videos you'll know a lot of them aren't budget ones. I don't just hold onto cp waiting for a specific deck bc I don't really even have a pet deck, I just build whatever when I have enough, usually the ones that are close to finished after pulling from a selection pack. And SR I dont go for royals, I can spend hundreds of SR cp every event just to play different things (like I crafted playsets of skill drain and duality for the time travel events lol).
Xyz event just after they released a kash structure... If I see one more unicorn combo I'm gonna play any blind second crap just to nuke a kash board. I may suffer against every other deck but I'm gonna bully kash on this event.
Sick of garbage banlist just do away with gatcha machine packs and make it subscription based so you can actually ban cards and no limit 4 cards so people can't complain there deck is unplayable its just so inconsistent that you don't want to play it
ngl I'm down for the extra 200 gems and I hope all next events are like this just for the extra gems and having more events like this is better cause in the normal xyz events everyone was just spamming 2000 attack nightingale with 4 materials and the games were not fun at all however it had a low win rate but it doesn't matter in normal festivals unlike in duelist cup
People are still going to do that. They aren't playing cheese because they want to, they don't have better options (like if they had the best deck in the event you think they'd rather use a strictly worse strat)? All this does is punish people harder for not having a proper deck

All the complaints everyone said I agree with, but imma bring up something new thats also really annoying. From the last xyz fest to this cup the playable card pool is exactly the same plus ty-phon. And in the next 2 months theyre gonna drop goblin riders (which is hinted at in the xyz pack card pool) and raidraptors to shake up the xyz cup format, yet they drop this before those cards come out. So this is just literally the same shit we played like 2 months ago with less rewards? More grind, and no loaners. Cringe
Nemleria is a good generic deck, Evenly Matched/repeatable boardwipe + Spamming level 10s for game, totally underated deck Rescue ace doesn't have links, but they are good enough in their own + rank 4 toolbox Gender riders are quite competent as well There is diversity, but both purely and Kashtira are very annoying decks to play against which ruins the mood for those extra deck type events For my part, i am really a masochist and got a weird impulse for playing Amazement, so wish me luck because i will need it
I think people will soon realize how mediocre Rescue-A(ss)ce is without links to immediately put R-ace cards in grave. There's also a huge chokepoint on Turbulence now because there's no way to protect it from imperm like with S:P/Elf.

This is Konami blatantly trying to make us buy gems to keep up with the card pool and being lazy at the same time. You better have a good xyz deck if you want those free gemies. Not only that they are releasing a 2nd pack in July and one in August making us have to be selective of what we buy. They don't even guarantee a single UR out of every 10 pull even when the packs are trash like this one in July.

They front load the gems so you don't have to grind the awful second stage, the icon is just for those who do As for ideas, I think the first year had more diversity, this year had a lot of extra deck events which are super lame Maybe those push more sales rather than the fun stuff like n/r, etc
@@beasthaven1571 rank doesn't affect this event ladder prizes other than having to play more duels As for normal rank up rewards, I found out that it is not worth wasting time on the upper ladder unless you really enjoy playing the game for hours a day I do minimal time investment of a duel every other day for dailies, which ranks from silver/gold + the monthly event, that's like 6k+ gems which to be frank, is quite enough I don't want to play/own every single deck so I am always topped with 10k gems and 700+ UR cp Don't worry about Master Rank, have fun
i really hate xyz events + this gabo .. just wanted to get the gems with maybe a fun deck . but this -.- i played to much kash , lab tired of those and not going to play purrely have nothing against the deck it's just not my typ of playstyle. i just hate events when max c and all hand traps is a thing have nothing against them in ranked but not in a fk event. just wanted to get my gems easy going to spare for voiceless or whatever is coming. mhm game is really getting annoyoing .
Really bad event. Floodgates are available. Burn is available. Maxx C is available. Some decks that shouldn’t be are full power. Some decks that could have been full power are nerfed to the ground. All of this is not even as bad as the format of the event which, even when Duel Links was a thing, was unfun on so many levels. At first, I wanted to just enjoy it and go for majespecters but if it’s to face Horus, Purrely and Kash… Cue the Lovely summon animation.

If you play furniture you can play rollback. Ppl will play red reboot to counter even just purrely so having access to something in gy might save you

what I found most weird about this is that you have incomplete playsets of UR cards. 2 mathas, 1 Mikailis, complete lab URs but no welcome. This looks like someone who doesnt dismantle. When you run out of UR cp do you just buy gems and open packs and dismantle extra cards?

@@nonamedpleb I have over 30 basically completed decks (didn't buy the extra deckslots so not sure on the exact amount), and if you've seen some of my videos you'll know a lot of them aren't budget ones. I don't just hold onto cp waiting for a specific deck bc I don't really even have a pet deck, I just build whatever when I have enough, usually the ones that are close to finished after pulling from a selection pack. And SR I dont go for royals, I can spend hundreds of SR cp every event just to play different things (like I crafted playsets of skill drain and duality for the time travel events lol).
Xyz event just after they released a kash structure... If I see one more unicorn combo I'm gonna play any blind second crap just to nuke a kash board. I may suffer against every other deck but I'm gonna bully kash on this event.

Sick of garbage banlist just do away with gatcha machine packs and make it subscription based so you can actually ban cards and no limit 4 cards so people can't complain there deck is unplayable its just so inconsistent that you don't want to play it

and having more events like this is better cause in the normal xyz events everyone was just spamming 2000 attack nightingale with 4 materials and the games were not fun at all however it had a low win rate but it doesn't matter in normal festivals unlike in duelist cup
People are still going to do that. They aren't playing cheese because they want to, they don't have better options (like if they had the best deck in the event you think they'd rather use a strictly worse strat)? All this does is punish people harder for not having a proper deck

All the complaints everyone said I agree with, but imma bring up something new thats also really annoying. From the last xyz fest to this cup the playable card pool is exactly the same plus ty-phon. And in the next 2 months theyre gonna drop goblin riders (which is hinted at in the xyz pack card pool) and raidraptors to shake up the xyz cup format, yet they drop this before those cards come out. So this is just literally the same shit we played like 2 months ago with less rewards? More grind, and no loaners. Cringe
Nemleria is a good generic deck, Evenly Matched/repeatable boardwipe + Spamming level 10s for game, totally underated deck
Rescue ace doesn't have links, but they are good enough in their own + rank 4 toolbox
Gender riders are quite competent as well
There is diversity, but both purely and Kashtira are very annoying decks to play against which ruins the mood for those extra deck type events
For my part, i am really a masochist and got a weird impulse for playing Amazement, so wish me luck because i will need it
I think people will soon realize how mediocre Rescue-A(ss)ce is without links to immediately put R-ace cards in grave. There's also a huge chokepoint on Turbulence now because there's no way to protect it from imperm like with S:P/Elf.

This is Konami blatantly trying to make us buy gems to keep up with the card pool and being lazy at the same time. You better have a good xyz deck if you want those free gemies. Not only that they are releasing a 2nd pack in July and one in August making us have to be selective of what we buy. They don't even guarantee a single UR out of every 10 pull even when the packs are trash like this one in July.

That's the idea. They front load the gems so you don't have to grind the awful second stage, the icon is just for those who do
As for ideas, I think the first year had more diversity, this year had a lot of extra deck events which are super lame
Maybe those push more sales rather than the fun stuff like n/r, etc

As for normal rank up rewards, I found out that it is not worth wasting time on the upper ladder unless you really enjoy playing the game for hours a day
I do minimal time investment of a duel every other day for dailies, which ranks from silver/gold + the monthly event, that's like 6k+ gems which to be frank, is quite enough
I don't want to play/own every single deck so I am always topped with 10k gems and 700+ UR cp

i really hate xyz events + this gabo .. just wanted to get the gems with maybe a fun deck . but this -.- i played to much kash , lab tired of those and not going to play purrely have nothing against the deck it's just not my typ of playstyle. i just hate events when max c and all hand traps is a thing have nothing against them in ranked but not in a fk event. just wanted to get my gems easy going to spare for voiceless or whatever is coming. mhm game is really getting annoyoing .
Really bad event. Floodgates are available. Burn is available. Maxx C is available. Some decks that shouldn’t be are full power. Some decks that could have been full power are nerfed to the ground. All of this is not even as bad as the format of the event which, even when Duel Links was a thing, was unfun on so many levels.
At first, I wanted to just enjoy it and go for majespecters but if it’s to face Horus, Purrely and Kash… Cue the Lovely summon animation.
Dude this event is so ass, why the event name is called xyz cup when the best performing deck is not even xyz deck, mikanko, rescue ace, lab and dracoslayer.
