Whats funny is a set of 4 cheap offbrand oil filled shocks are 10 to 20 bucks. No way they cant get cheaper in bulk, so ya charge me 115 dollars instead of 100...... Lol

For the price that doesn't seem like a bad little truck mate. The difference the Oil shocks make is insane.
It’s these cheaper cars that can damage the hobby the most, I’ve seen it in multiple towns where a shop will set up and sell the junk that filters out into the population and essentially ruining the impression of the hobby. The low quality and poor support often turns people away from the hobby, yeah a quality kit costs big but over time? It’s actually cheaper to own a higher quality product over time
I doubt it, because it would be reflected in the price, and thus their expectations. If theres only $200+ rtrs and no ones seen a video of a hobby grade rc, then much less ppl buy. I dont think someone who dors a blind impulse buy at some rundown shop, and also not look it up online about it.
What ultimately gets bulk amount of ppl in hobby is friends getting into it, being at the park and onlookers noticing, youtube and viral vids, online shops like amazon, and low price but highest quality at each price point (i.e. udirc and hbx make GREAT rcs for $50 plus and yet below $100), arrma and mjx make good mini bashers under $150, and etc. And when theyre mini and plastic and light (and slow brushed, if one wants that), thats why theyre known to be indestructible (and can get parts support online) even comparatively to the maxx and ta mt10
You can now buy this as a kit for your WLToys 144001 / 144010. You get the bumper, body, wing and tyres. I got mine all in delivered for about £11 to the UK from China.

I’ve got the same kit and was really impressed so got another kit for one of my highly upgraded 144001. It completely changed the vehicle.
The question with all these is when I break something can I get that broken part. As good as some of these can be it's getting parts that matters the most.
It depends where you are because these aren't stocked in your local hobby shop, so you'll probably have to order the parts offline. Some of them you can get parts off of Amazon. Some of them you got to wait for them to come from China. I've had great luck with a lot of like the WL toy stuff, but if you crash a lot or break a certain piece a lot, you definitely want it to have spares. That is one big advantage to like Traxxas say what you want about them, but you can walk into a just about any hobby shop anywhere and get a control arm for a stampede

@@masjuggaloI have the wl toys 124019 and i love it. Mostly front axle breaks and I just keep some around. Only $3 e and easy to change. They only break when u wreck hard or bash/jump the hell outta it.

I think it's a nice little basher... I'm always weary of buying chinese knock off rc..., to be fair on the shock absorbers, it did say Metal Spring Shock Absorbers and the ''spring'' is metal. they are very clever on how they word the description. & yes, I agree, in 2023 these should come with oil filled dampers, my Tamiya MKII Escort badly needed oil dampers which I upgraded before I even put a battery in it.

This platform is used in quite a few brands from what I've seen. That center shaft with the spur gear is about £10 to replace and no matter what grease you use or how you pack it in there, the pinion always ends up chewing up the spur gear eventually. Shame because other than that it's good for the price but spending ten quid every time it does this is a game breaker.
I think Arrma should build/brand their own smaller scale trucks. Obviously there's a market for them. They're getting "copied" already.
Arrma would take over easily or maybe they should buy smaller popular budget companies like hyper go, wltoys, or hbx and employ them to handle the smaller line of arrma cars but let them have their own designs to go with it that can later be copied to larger 8 and 5th scale cars in the future

haha, anything over 50 mph and it's a close call.
Don't get me wrong, I'm new to RC and nitro is gonna be my first. But look and see if they have repair kits or upgrades first, that way we know we can repair it. Wltoy upgrade kits fit a ton of RCs but ppl don't check first

Blinking Heck! Cracking mini Outcast replica and what a difference with the stickers in place.
I put oil shock on 4 of my pine cone UDi 1/16ths and wow it makes them better. Companies will sell more if they got the clue we want OIL FILLED SHOCKS……. And extra tires would be nice as well.
I feel let down by prices in only $ and not £ as well. Especially for a UK channel

We’ve been asking Tamiya for oil shocks since the 80’s. 2023, mostly no.
Yeah, Tamiya have 'Grandfather Rights'.... hence they still give us plastic bushings haha

The Oil filled shocks are not much better! I have a HSP buggy and I resin printed some shock pistons with better bore tolerance and 5 small holes and now I can actually call them dampers instead of oil filled bicycle pumps 😂

I thought you were going to put oil filled shox on it? I was wondering... I have a brushed wltoys 14401 the engine calved and I haven't switched it to brushless yet. So I have a nice set of small oil filled just sitting around. Do you think they would fit? If so I may get this little ripper. But I still never checked the one that you said was even better. I just like the fact the the esc is good enough to recognize 3s.

I have to get the little Associated one. I can confirm the 14T will do 35mph on a 2s.
I replaced the esc with a quicrun, which now I can run it on 3s

My mjx arrived yesterday, its a beast. havent tried 3s yet but anything that you know I should order before something breaks? Got it off Aliexpress for $65 on summer sale!! As always, great vid phil!

Looks like they blew the budget putting a half decent little brushless motor in.. Shame cos it does look like a cool little truck.
Phill did you actually expect the sharks that came on it see if they could be filled with oil I mean why go through the trouble of making an aluminum body friction shock. Maybe they just needed to be filled that you actually take the shocks apart and inspect them see if they were oil shocks I mean made such a big deal over it
They have a screw through the top holding the cap on, that's usually a sign that they will not hold oil
So......for the future...when no oil shocks are present,make sure you include oil and no oil performance...eh!

Hey tomley, i got a hbx ravage, but something screwed up so we refunded it, in case they give me back my money, do you know something good under 130€? It can be little bit bigger like 1:14 or 1:12 ( maybe even 1:10)
i tried changing the oil out of my mjx 14209 rear shocks and stock oil was super thick, like diff oil. i put 80wt oil in them and it was like water. do you know what they have in them stock? (14209 rear shocks).

Got about 15 mins run time on the stock battery, a little more on the lipo
