Rowdy that hurt, but I do feel like I have a lot to learn as a Zeus, tried zeusing to a mil-sim group & I thought they would take it super serious, cause mil-sim, but they messed around & I ruined the op by allowing them to do that.
@Spooky Man We have a group called TCG, about 50-70 an op and been going strong for 4 years. There are 4 ops a week and most of our command staff are prior military. We've been growing pretty fast lately so I recommend getting enlisted as soon as possible. You can find us by just searching "TCG Arma 3".
When the first IR missile was sent at him, Drew turned on his LWIRCM system, which is basically high-tech IR laser that blinds the missile's sensor, rather than dumping burning flares as a decoy. However, in RHS the LWIRCM continues to deploy until it either is discharged and recharges (runs out of ammo and reloads) or you turn it off. When the second pair of missiles came his way, his LWIRCM was recharging, leaving him unable to spoof the incoming missiles. When a missile threat is detected, hit C to activate the LWIRCM. When it is defeated, hit Ctrl-C to turn it off and leave it ready to be activated again.
Slight correction, IRCM systems like ATIRCM, LAIRCM, and CIRCM don't "blind" the missile. They overwhelm the sensor/algorithm with a stronger signal than the target and cause a steering command that puts the target out of view. Basically tell the missile to "turn left" until it won't see the original target anymore. It's not just "you can't see anymore", it's a "your target is over there, trust me".

The music I made for the intro was basically me just ripping off Jóhann Jóhannsson 's score for Sicario. Primarily cause it fit and it was something I could make fairly quickly.
hey, could you make a list of ALL the mods you use, i recently got arma, and want to have the same experience as you. i doesn't even have to be a video, just a list would be amazing.
the helicopter is from RHSUSAF, most of the vehicles are also from that mod. I suggest finding a community server that does these kind of ops that a semi serious unless you want a more realistic gameplay. The radio is seeming to be ACRE2 but im not sure on that. Also to have the graphics that drewski has just bump all your graphics up to max and importantly max your bloom.
RHS Escalation pack, ACE, Task Force Radio, but I strongly suggest joining some dedicated Arma unit if you really want to experience something similar.
God, my obsession with arma and squad is only growing with videos like these, I love messing with maps mostly but I'd love to do an op like this some time, just wish my group was as interested in this stuff as I am

10:49 When you lost collective like that, without knowing what you were doing with your controls, I'd say you were likely pulling the collective full up, whilst pulling back on the cyclic? I think what happened there was your blades stalled, which can happen when you pull up too hard and the blades go too face-on to the wind (high angle-of-attack). You'll get more lift in that situation even with the collective all the way down. You can fix it counter-intuitively by dropping collective down, then pulling up more gently. You'll feel the chopper bite into the air a bit more and start to rise, and once it's travelling more forwards and less down, you can bring the collective back up and carry on as you were. This is similar to stalls in fixed-wing aircraft where the instinctive response is to keep pulling back on the stick which only makes it worse, but the fix is to push the stick forwards to get the wings to a better AoA. I'd say you were pretty lucky not to hit the ground there. In a more extreme manoeuvre the chopper can just drop like a stone if you don't know how to recover it. EDIT: Oh... unless you were saying the chopper was damaged. That would make sense too lol.

Hold up you can do this with the LWIRCM 1400 hrs in Arma and I thought once you use it, it goes all the way and you have to wait for recharge
