Longest walk was 26 miles home when my car got stuck in snow. One stop at Tesco Express for a bag full of calories and another at a pub for a couple of pints. Made it back home by 2 a.m. with some big blisters.
No one had ever, ever walked 22.59 miles in a day... until now! That radio voice was spot on... it made me produced a farting noise with my mouth trying to cancel a laugh, and now my socially distanced office thinks I'm even weirder than before. Earned that pizza and coke Mr Larwood! :)
Personal walking record: One day in the mid 1980s, my boss forgot to pick me up from work and take me home, so rather than bother my parents, I walked 15+ miles from Cwmcarn to my home in Pillgwenlly in Newport. In the dark in wellies and a boiler suit 😂 But I was in my teens, fit and had 50p for a bag of chips in Risca, so why the heck not, right? 😊 Then I got told off by my mum for not finding a phone box and calling her so she could send my dad to get me lol
Not sure but possibly spoiler alerts need to inserted for *ocean drive by lighthouse family* in future videos, it's stuck in my head for about the same amount of time haha ! Great work Cool Dude ! :)
Loved all the gliders. That was pretty cool. Another awesome video. That badger gets around doesn't he? Lol. Thank you for another beautiful view of your walk. Love the commentary lol you're awesome! ♡
The sky was sooo blue Marek, the sun just shines on everything you do I sincerely hope that song didn't plague the rest of your walk 🤣 Love this series, its been a treat to watch every day!
I’m really enjoying these videos 👍🏻 The furthest I’ve walked in a day was 16 miles of the Test Way, Wherwell to Romsey. I’d definitely recommend it 🦡🐑🤨
I'd rather skewer my testicles with a screwdriver than listen to Ocean Drive. Furthest I have walked in a day is 63 miles (100km) for charity last year. Hoping to do the SDW next year. BTW did you see any actual badgers? Stay cool Marek. Cheers 😊
I don't know what you're supposed to do either, they terrify me. If they are close to you that is OK, just don't let then run at you. If anyone knows the correct behaviour when walking by cows please write it below.
Well done for breaking your own personal record! This has been the best video of your series so far. When you said' Truleigh Hill Radio Station'... I knew what was coming and it did not disappoint! I'm surprised you didn't have anything to say about the pile of skulls beneath the Meridian Point sign. I found that descent along "ocean drive" to be particularly horrible on my trek. Looking forward to Day 6. I'm glad you didn't attempt it in for days, or there wouldn't be as many videos. ;-) All the best. My personal record is still 30 miles along the West Mendip Way. I normally do it once a year... But haven't even thought about trying to beat it.
@@cdwc I didn't know at the time but the sign says something like 'Meridian West / Meidian East', which could've been a clue. Seems like a strange place for it though, not perfectly down the centre of Britain.
Best video of the series so far. I enjoyed immensely. So funny. Hope you can take some solace in the fact that you're sharing the Ocean Drive earworm. Also, congratulations on breaking your personal record. Hooray! Also also, hope you treated yourself to something wonderful after finishing the whole thing.
I just translated your walk into Australian. 22.6 miles is 36.4 km. That’s quite a lot. Well done. Also what are downs? I don’t know what that a down is? Are there North Ups or are they all downs? Are there east and west downs? Sounds a bit depressing if they are all down. Also why are they all downs when clearly they are ups and downs and over there’s? Don’t you think Down is a weird spelling of a word. Doone is how you say it. I say it Doun.
The longest I have ever walked was last weekend when I walked 17.9 miles from Southease to Eastbourne along the South Downs Way. I’ve only done that bit so far, as part of a walk from my house in Tooting (south London) to Eastbourne. I’m planning on doing the whole south Downs Way in the near future. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to seeing you do the last 17.9 miles to Eastbourne Marek. Stay cool.
Really impressive mate! And always really enjoyable to watch. My record is 18 miles with only a 10kg pack and I tore my meniscus doing it, so I'm in pain at the mere thought of you having to carry on the next day after that. Fantastic job
50km a day, 2 days in a row, 1000m = 3300ft per day climb, Diekirch March. Luxembourg But, there are thousands of people and a great atmosphere so it’s totally different.
Love these videos! Inspired to get out and plan some short local walks here in Ireland during lockdown. Apparently I'm the first Irish member of the Cool Dudes Walking Club! # 128.
Although you bemoan walking at the speed you do, remember; You are also making a film, map-reading and navigating, viewing the horizon and fighting off herds of marauding cattle. So 2.2MPH is not so bad after all. Most folk perambulate between 2.5 & 3 MPH. To go faster might mean missing something interesting and would require you to have a much faster piece of music as your mind-worm. I love your vids, keep it up. If there was an option to PayPal I would join the prestigious Cool Dudes' Walking Club but I hate digital transfers with a passion. Give me an option and I will be there. As for cool; me? I'm as smooth as a sack of bricks!! Stay cool.
First day back from a holiday and I got this wonderfully informative exercise video to break up the day. But now I can't unhear Ocean Drive, what kind of hell have you unleashed by climbing a 666m hill? CD#123
@@cdwc I can't judge. My boyfriend and I ran away from a wild turkey a couple of months ago. (Turns out it's a very friendly turkey and she was just hoping we'd give her seeds...)

thanks for the walk and comedy xxx
Love it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You’ve done brilliant
Thanks Lucy.
Wow, well done Marek, that sure looked hard work! You did awesome!
Longest walk was 26 miles home when my car got stuck in snow. One stop at Tesco Express for a bag full of calories and another at a pub for a couple of pints. Made it back home by 2 a.m. with some big blisters.

I doubt my record will ever be broken. I might get a job as a DJ.
Just shy of 28 miles - 45km.. doing the Black mountain challenge. I've done it 3 times in total. Up & down mountains for a whole day 😅🤘
That sounds 0% enjoyable. I like to start the walk on a hill and then stay on the hill for the rest of it.
Most ever walked was 26 miles on this very walk. Trail running shoes and a much lighter pack enabled me to do it wilding camping each night.
I am too nervous to try wild camping. 26 miles on hills is exhausting cool dude.

Watching the south downs series daily has been the highlight of my mornings Marek, cheers mate.
Fab. Loving the series. I reckon you would love the Ridgeway. Similar path but with more stuff to see en route.
Yes the Ridgeway is on my list. Have done bits of it and it's great.
Thanks cool dude. Glad you've been enjoying it.
Straight on over to day five on my rewatch. Up up up the ziganaught, lickitty split. The uphill endeavour.

I only heard it once 15 years ago and it is still in my head.
Epic walk mate - your feet must have been killing you after that ! Very enjoyable video. Cheers !
It was my shoulders from the heavy bag that hurt the most. Stay cool.
24.5 miles Yorkshire Three Peaks. Have done it twice now both times threatening to burn my boots at the end
Get some trail running trainers!

My sanity thanks you in advance 😁 😂
