Never considered that you talking about your vacations could even be offensive. You talk about the rest of your lives and I've ALWAYS found the post-vacation episodes super entertaining.
YIKES! "We worked very hard to get this lifestyle" I'm sure it must have been tough for 2 tall white dudes on the east coast to be successful. Get over yourself and learn from the constructive criticism.
IIRC the main issue people took with the last vacation video was that Rhett admitted he went golfing when he knew he had just been exposed to covid, and he had symptoms.
The issue isn’t with them taking vacations. Rhett is a fragile little ball of ego. He can’t take criticism when he’s done something wrong.

I saw a tweet recently actually. They were complaining that they didn't want to hear 2 men talking about their vacation/privileged lives. I was shocked! I personally enjoy their vacation stories. 🤷🏻♀️
The way link talks to strangers is the most entertaining thing in the world to me
I remember them talking about going to Hollywood mixers to meet celebrities and network and when Rhett implied that there's no preparing for what is going to come out of links mouth in casual conversation and that he tends to go rogue and scare people off.
Link didn't defend himself.
I always consider approaching strangers in a similar way and then I realize that’s weird and I don’t do that

I love hearing about the ups and downs of your vacations. It’s funny, relatable, makes me live the vacation through you, etc. I don’t comment much, but I just wanted to say…go on vacations and tell us all about them.
as someone not from US, I personally love the episodes where you talk about trips, because I'm probably never gonna have a chance to visit those places! so I'm just living vicariously through you!
Here's my feedback, my most favourite Ear Biscuits are when you tell each other what you've been up to, and the stories. Good or bad, if you loved it or hated it, makes no difference. Keep on having as much vacation and adventures that you want, you don't have to justify it, I'm very happy to hear about it all.
This was so good, I listened on Spotify a few days ago! I wanted to see the video of the bear and Link’s video LOL. I also wanted to come here and comment about what Rhett says at first, because I completely agree. You guys both work hard to create a show, run a company, you guys have a lot for a reason and I always look at you guys as regular guys, because you don’t come off as “pretentious rich guys just complaining,” and you never have! You weren’t out of place at all to say what you said.

The vacation recap episodes are probably the ones I rewatch the most! You guys are incredible storytellers, and hearing about your vacations is very entertaining. Not only that but you totally deserve your vacations! You are always humble and conscious of your privilege, and you never come of as braggy or bitchy imo

Then again, if we wouldn't tune in to hear them talk about watching paint dry or brushing their teeth none of us would be here.
I think it's safe to say both of these down home southern boys have elevated themselves above and beyond their shared hero, Merle Haggard, may he rest in diamonds.

@@jekanyika I powered through GMM in the span of about 6 months back in 2018 or so. I remember seeing where they started and respecting the small time setup because it was nothing flashy but these were clearly brothers with the drive to make people laugh. Of all the celebrities I've looked up to in the past... Eesh 35 years... I think it's fair to say that I've never once been let down by their attitude, approach, or outcome. Clearly they have the ambition to be solid family men, entertainers, pioneers of an incredible age and the fact that they're 100% transparent whenever they feel they've let us down, I'm genuinely surprised I've never thought "Ha! That's not what I would've done!"
I mean, I could TRY to think of some GUYS on equal footing but sooner or later, one of our heros screws the pooch.

Anyway yeah I enjoy more too because it's literally behind the scenes and after a truly Mythical Morning, Ear Biscuits is where I sleep it off.

I love listening to ear biscuits it's Calming voices to me, familiar and comfortable helps me in my evening wind down.
I fall asleep all the time. It takes me 3-4 times to stay awake long enough to hear it all. 😂
What many people fail to realize Is the amount of time and effort that goes into a show. Because we just click and see the final product.
I feel any performer kn any platform deserves a break too. Because they are human also and need time away

The vacation epsisodes are my favorite episodes of this podcast. What brought me to rhett and link was the old school sit around and talk about memories format and since all the memories and stories have been told over a decade if you don't go on vacations and put yourself in new situations there won't be new stories. Link's camping night of terror episode is one of my favorites of all time and that wouldn't have happened if you didnt talk about your trips and lives.

Every time Rhett talks about apologizing to his kids when he is reactive or mishandles a situation, it takes me by surprise because never in a million years would I have realized that parents should apologize. I never heard those words out of my mom's mouth and never will but wow. Thank you guys for being reflexive and honest with your kids.

I already listened to this in audio, but I wanted to come here to see Rhett's face when Link told about his wedding crashing.
Also, I have to say, I love listening to your travel stories. It's escapism for me to get to experience your travels through Ear Biscuits. If I want to feel miserable, I can just look at my own life, but I'm thankful for every chance I get to hear positive stories, just to remind there's more to life than what I currently have.
i'm glad Rhett and Link can provide an escape, but i hope you find the beauty in your own life too! while we may not have their means, there's sill many ways to enjoy more out of life in the meantime. keep being your mythical best and blessings to you! :)
@@onyxgothicc Oh, I do see the beauty in my life, very much so. However, I have things going on right now that are far from beautiful: several of my intimate family members are having serious health issues, and it just feels like a lot to take, especially when the world as a whole seems to have gone off the rails. I need to escape the reality every once in a while, and everything Mythical seems to do the trick.

The episodes about trips are my favourite, I think most people can relate to going on holidays and having things go wrong or even having a terrible time the whole trip. I don’t think it’s fair to say just because they’re more successful they can’t complain about a bad trip
When I hear any of these vacation episodes I enjoy them because I get to live through Rhett and Link. Not because I can’t afford to go on vacations but because no one will ever have the exact same experience or tell it the same way Rhett and Link do. I’m not even 15 minutes in and I know it will be entertaining and hilarious. So go on even more vacations so we can have even more great stories!!

Rhett I wish you were my Dad. The way you helped your son through college and how you apologize for your mistakes. I didn't have that as a child. It was hard to listen to but I'm grateful your children get to have a good experience with their father.

The episodes about your vacations and trips are my favorite. I don't travel much, so I kind of live vicariously through them. 🤣 And they always end up being some of the funniest episodes. And scariest! I've listened to Link's camping story about the guy driving around the desert wanting to show people pictures at least three times.
I don’t like my job and whenever I get PTO I just stay at home because I’m so drained, but I watch y’all before I go into that job. You make me smile the whole day through it. the background on what happened during the asl portion of the instructions in different languages is really insightful. it’s really commendable that even though you guys were getting backlash, instead of defending yourselves, you just said yeah you’re right and took accountability.

My favorite way to spend Sunday morning when the rest of the family is still sleeping and I can just chill with a cup of coffee and listen to ear biscuits ❤️ I wanted to say too Link, that getting gas the night before you leave is not just a father/man thing it's an anxiety driven, bring prepared thing. 😂 At least for me it is 😁 it's one less thing I have to worry about. Also it's super satisfying to just back out the driveway and go! Thanks for making my Sunday mornings awesome, love y'all!

i remember watching y'all when i was 12-13 and it was kid friendly and hardly anything like how ur channel has grew. i am now 19 and i still watch you guys. your channel has grew up with me and i absolutely adore you guys. one of my favorite you tubers from the gmm and the songs and now the communicating. ab yourself to us fans. it's so heartwarming how y'all grew with the group of people that was watching u way back in our childhood💕 absolutely love you guys!!

The debate over the football field/how many yards away the foot bridge was got me laughing. Reminded me of talking with my own best friend. As a person of great specificity, probably, no, definitely irritating to my loved ones, I love it. The detailed story telling is what makes this so great and connects so well with us listeners. You guys do you, and keep telling us about it. So grateful for the much needed laugh after a long day of work.

You guys are great. There's no need to apologize for being successful. Also, seeing you look tired is actually a nice change. It's humanizing. I wish more celebrities would go on camera without heavy makeup that gives others unrealistic expectations about what they should look like.
There's always a way to say something. Rhett isn't wrong, but they've built an entire brand and media empire on being two men from small town North Carolina. I don't expect them to be that anymore, but I think it's important to realize that you may be losing the relatability that made you famous. You can acknowledge that without condescension and defensiveness. Drew Gooden made a great video about this.

I agree with them,although I work 12 hours a day practically 60 hours a week in the kitchen and it isn’t easy but that is my life, they built they’re life and all we can do is strive to be better ourselves, I can’t imagine the stress they deal with as well trying to please millions of people, love you guys and crew

Why is it that most of the Mythical productions have what seems to be subdued audio?
It's so much quieter than the other stuff on RUclips and it just makes ads sound jarring and blasting, sometimes clipping in the speakers because I'm trying to compensate with louder volume during the mythical content.
I realize this comment is ironic. But I find these conversations about viewer feedback really frustrating. I wish they wouldn’t read comments for that reason. I just want the entertaining stories.

The dissent isn't you being hardworking and taking a vacation, it's the fact that many people work just as hard, if not harder, and can't take that vacation. I have no dissent because I'm entertained, but there's definitely merit to their complaint.

I always think that random delays on a trip saves me from something very bad. Been delayed and missed a major accident that happened when I should have been in that spot had I been on time.

I think it’s hilarious how people need everything to match their life in order to find something relatable. Yes I’m not rich and can’t afford to go on vacation but I’ve been on trips in my life and can extrapolate that to understand how they’re feeling.

As mythical beasts we love to hear y'all's stories and y'all are always so humble about it too. If someone feels offended and not inspired that's a personal problem and they should really look at themselves as to why someone's success makes them bitter.
