    ATTENTION: The recipe Yiayia uses is posted below but Yiayia herself DOES NOT follow it.
    Recipe:
    1 onion finely diced
    1 cup olive oil
    4 tablespoons butter
    2 cans crushed tomatoes
    2 cans tomato sauce
    1 can tomato paste
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Add diced onions, butter and olive oil to a pot on medium heat and cook onions down until translucent. About 5 minutes. Stir in 1 tsp pepper.
    Add cans of tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes. If you have diced tomatoes use a food processor to blend into smaller pieces. Mix the tomato paste with warm water to make it looser to blend into sauce better, stir in to combine. Fill each can halfway with warm water to get the remainder of tomatoes in the can mixed in. Add to pot and stir. Stir in 1.5 tablespoons salt to taste. Let pot cook down uncovered for 20-30 min. It should reduce and thicken. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
    Enjoy over pasta, to dip fresh bread in, or for eggs in purgatory (add feta!).
