- Hello my friends, In this video I’m bringing you along to Holguin, Cuba. We left from Pearson Airport, in Toronto, on a little 1 week vacation just before Christmas 2023 and we stayed at the Aston Costa Verde, an all inclusive resort in Playa Pesquero. During the week we also took a 1 hour trip, by taxi, to the city of Holguin, to visit my girlfriend’s sister who lives there. The next day we got on a taxi and rode back to the resort. The resort food, in my opinion, was not bad and was plentiful but of course the variety was not the same as you would find in Canada due to some shortages. Alcoholic drinks were plentiful and included as well as free Salsa lessons and music, at the beach and at poolside.
The resort staff were amazing, very friendly and professional as well as the medical clinic onsite. It was my first time in Cuba and an amazing experience.

Great vid ❤
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 😀
Very nice
TY 😊
Thank you for such a detailed review of the hotel. Our family is going there at the end of February. How's the food? In which building is it better to ask for a room? We are flying with a child, we would like the pool and buffet to be nearby.
You are very welcome. Glad you liked it! For the detailed map of the property check out the website below. We were in building 28 which is not too far from the pool, lobby, dining room and the beach. The food is not bad and it is plentiful but there are limitations considering it is Cuba. I, myself, didn’t get sick but some people do, it depends on your stomach I guess. One word of advice is don’t drink tap water or ice cubes in drinks, especially outside the resort. They will give you a 5L jug of bottled water in your room. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did!

@@JulianOutdoors thanks for your reply 🤝
How much cab cost?
We paid $40 Canadian, from the resort to the city of Holguín but most tourists give a little tip so we paid $45 for a 1 hour trip. The fare is negotiable, depending on which cab you take. Hope this helps! 😀
@@JulianOutdoors Thank you, we will see in the next couple weeks.
@@JulianOutdoors Maybe you have some personal advice ?
How far is the resort from the city center?
It’s about 52km to the city of Holguín but it takes close to an hour by car.
@@JulianOutdoors not bad, did you rent a car? or just taxi? how much did it cost you from the center to the resort for the taxi?
@dearjohn_e We actually took a taxi and it cost me $40 Canadian one way, but gave him $45 for the great service as a tour guide too.
