An original Surf Channel production, “Exposure” is an ongoing series featuring the world’s most talented surf photographers. Episode 2 highlights one of the most well-known artists in the surf industry, Chris Burkard.
Since he was a child, Burkard had always dreamt of making the cover of Surfer Magazine as a photographer. Now at 28-years-old, he has not only made several cover shots for the prestigious magazine, but also serves as a staff photographer travelling all around the world with top athletes, capturing unimaginable landscapes in various climates. Frigid central California is where Burkard calls home, though he has made time to explore the entire California coastline as well as beaches all around the world, including snow-covered Norway.
Focusing on the ocean for the majority of his work, Burkard’s rich imagery captures talented athletes while also uniquely known for showcasing the incredible surrounding environment in each shot.
