My grandmother who adopted me passed away nearly 2 years. Her passion g was expected and I begged my uncle to learn this song so he could play it at her memorial. He tried his best to learn the song in only a few days and delivered well. The night my grandmother finally decided to end her fight I had decided to go home for a night of rest...a few hours later I received the call that she had passed. I carried an enormous amount of guilt for leaving her side but as soon as I got in my vehicle to drive off to my moms home to say my final goodbyes Just Breathe came on. This was more than a sign for me and although I break down everytime I hear Just Breathe it moves me everytime!! It's honestly fine with me that I'm moved to tears each time....I can't thank PJ enough for this beautiful song.

There was a Pearl Jam concert where Eddie came out with his guitar and announced that Carine was in the audience and the song was dedicated to her. He proceeded to sing "Guaranteed." Of course he was referring to Chris McCandless's sister. The crowd was so loud I wondered why they paid money to get into the concert to begin with. I considered that particular moment very disrespectful to both Eddie Vedder and Carine McCandless.
