- This video just looks at the genuine BMW brake pads for the i3 and what you get with them and the thicknesses of the pads. Front pads are BMW part no. 34106884267 (retail price £88.20 +VAT) and rear pads 34216859917 (retail price £70.66+VAT).

Off topic, while watching your video, I noticed that the protection rubber on the front shock absorber is damaged. I had the same problem with the ones on my i3, and was able to have them replaced under warranty. My i3 Rex is also from 2015.
I suppose it's a manufacturing defect, as I've seen this issue in many i3 models.
You should definitely replace those, as they're not protecting the shock absorbers anymore, which could lead to damaging them in the long run...
Did you clean up the rotors?
In my opinion it's still worth changing the front pads; in this example due to age of the original ones. Even with a decent amount of meat on the friction material, old brake pads can crumble around the edges and in some cases can start to delaminate. Not normally an issue for old petrol and diesel powered vehicles.
Mine 4.5 years old and rubbish condition still had depth but discs so rusty and one pad seized and a real bummer to get out of caliper where it was stuck
Bonjour la BMW i3 avais combien de km ?
Interesting just changed my pads and discs. The front BMW were Jurid and back ATE. Your new on back Textar. What were your fronts please
I don't know. This was filmed over a year ago and car and pads long gone. However, I suspect BMW changes the manufacturers occasionally anyway.
Semi or ceramic
TEXTAR
Changed my front pads because of corrosion on the discs
Do you have a video or know of a video that shows installation?

Do you say the front pads are 7,5/8mm thick?
Yes, 7.5mm
My new pads have 10mm total 54mm(pads+disc) and it is not possible to sit the caliper anymore. The supplier ensure that it is correct. It would if they were 7,5mm… Is there the same model who the brake pads are thicker?
@@marieetfrancois I have some new TRW front pads (GDB2038) here too (BMW use TRW brakes) and they are 7mm thick.
@@GoGreenAutos thank you very much!
@@GoGreenAutos hello, whats model for the trw equivalent for back pads pls.
Textar brakes you could probably get them cheaper without the BMW badge printed on them.
Over here original pads are 80 bucks, noname ones 40. But there's not explanation if they come with the bolts etc. or not and what the thickness is. I don't give a toss if I pay 40 more or less every 5 years and 100 000 km.
If you drive them "properly", you actually use the breaks. :)
Regen breaking is useless in New cars with 250 +MILES but on my i3 I get like 60 miles if I don't use it and it's starting to make a fucked up sound. I don't even use it I turn it off. I'd rather use my breaks and I don't mind charging at 2.50 cents a time
