I've made this a few times now and it's always a winner in my family. My wife is Polish and loves it. Thanks for sharing your recipes, your videos are easy to follow and I like how you guys just make cooking fun.
Hi Adam, hope you can find some good Polish sausage in your area - if not, any good quality smoked or fresh sausage should work fine. Thanks for watching!!
I made my own version of "fusion/confusion" Polish Spagetti. I followed your recipe exactly, but then I also added a big spoonful of some chipotile salsa that I had leftover in the fridge that I sauteed with the mushrooms, and it was FABULOUS! The smokey chipotile complimented the bacon and sausage perfectly. I thought that the chipotile might make it too spicy, but the soup diluted the pepper just enough to mellow the spice. In honor of you and Ralph, I'm calling my version Polish/Mexican Spagetti. :-)
Howard - that sounds terrific! You get the "super fusion" award by adding in another cultural influence ;-) I'll bet the smoky salsa added a nice edge to the dish. Thanks so much!
Looks so good. Reminds of a Polish/Slovak Pasta called "haluszki" that my grandmother used to make, Of course no meat or cream in it during lent. you bring fond memories of the aroma of her kitchen. Thank you for sharing this.
Uncle Al - thanks for watching! We did haluski in a previous episode, although the version we made had bacon in it. Happy the cooking brings memories of your grandmother! All the best to you!
Ive watched so many of your videos. I find you guys very entertaining,I love your videos and cooking style .keep them coming.. if you have any more polish recipes id love it. always searching for more polish recipes... thanks a bunch Stosh
fried red and green peppers, onions, sauerkraut and tomato sauce is a great accompaniment to kielbasa...maybe other families with a Polish history know this or maybe it was just my family but one of my favorites
I love the Detroit area. Lived in Novi for 3 years. Remember the wonderful food and people. Remember Hamtramck. I’m a Polish cook myself. Mom was 100%. I made cabbage and onions with klutziness and kielbasa the other day. Made tons. Love it.
hey. i never had this in Poland but you definitely know what you are doing. that's the 'polish taste' as you have craftily connected the main ingredients in a way that's very polish. but bear in mind it's the peasant food, very yummy. the upscale aristocratic polish cuisine is very very different: different ingredients and style of cooking. I love how you cook and the way you cherish this wonderful culture!
Thanks so much!! This is really something I came up with as a way of using up some left over kielbasa from a big meal! I've heard that there are different types of food and cooking depending on your status in Poland. We generally make the peasant food!! Thanks so much for watching!!
this sounds n looks totally awesome. only thing i would change is ....we buy the dried mushrooms from the polish stores near us. i think they just have an amazing taste for this dish n would do nothing but compliment it even more . thank you for sharing this very unique dish . have a great week guys .
Hi Kathy Jo! Those dried mushrooms are wonderful - the flavor is so intense! Seems like I never have any on-hand, but I was able to get some nice fresh mushrooms at the local market, but yes, the dried mushrooms would be a hit in this dish! I'll get some for next time! Thanks always!! Hugs!
I see you like a little spaghetti with your meat sauce. 😁 I could eat a "heaping helping" of that at 8:45 AM on a Wednesday morning! When you topped it with sour cream, I nearly fainted! 😂Wow!
Definitely going to try this over the weekend. I have everything on hand except the mushrooms. I have some zucchini on hand so I might toss that in their too. Dziękuję!
Fun video- recipe was a bit interesting. I am anxiously awaiting a video on Chicken Soup.... there is an art to good chicken soup so am hoping you will have a good one!
Kelly, I'm sure there are lots of great chicken soup recipes on RUclips...we did one a while back if you search our channel it should come up. Thanks for watching!
That looks delicious!! Question, do you think you need to boil the smoked kielbasa, or could you just add it sliced and/or saute with bacon - I just hate to wash an extra dish - lol?
Hi Alison! No, you don't need to boil the smoked kielbasa, but I do so because it pulls out some of the fat from the sausage. I totally understand not wanting to wash more dishes! You could cook it with the bacon or cut it up and toss it in. Thanks for watching!
Hi PK - Yes, you could cook the spaghetti in the kielbasa water, but there is usually some grease in there from the sausage and you wouldn't want to have that on the pasta, so I would try to skim off as much as possible. Thanks!
This seems like a great recipe. I would modify the recipe a little bit though and substitute the kielbasa for beef kielbasa just to cut back on some of the saturated fat though. Very rich dish.
Just discovered you through your kapusta video....A man in the kitchen making Polish food. I have just one question...will you marry me? Just kidding...but seriously, will you marry me?
Polish Men are the most handsome men in the universe! I know! My wonderful Father and Brother and the rest of the men in my family are cute like you!!! 😀

Could you boil the spaghetti in the Kielbasa water, to infuse the smokeyness?
Hi PK - Yes, you could cook the spaghetti in the kielbasa water, but there is usually some grease in there from the sausage and you wouldn't want to have that on the pasta, so I would try to skim off as much as possible. Thanks!
