Do you have any strats with a Hum in the bridge and Single in the neck pickguard with pickups and if so how do you like it? I don't like single coils in the middle because they get in the way of my picking hand. Maybe my picking technique sucks or something, but I've heard others say the same. Thanks brother! Tim

Bad business decision though, many companies left CT over ridiculous business and property taxes… people complain their pedals are overpriced but probably more than half of what they make goes for taxes and expenses. It’s a shame they can’t turn a nice profit and expand their business… I used to live in that town back when I got married, but property prices and taxes made me leave…
Love my King of Tone, but my favorite Analogman pedals are his fuzzes. The Sunbender Mk IV is my favorite fuzz, and his TI/UK Sun Face is a close second.
Just got my SD-1 back from Analogman, I had the Silver SD1/808 mod done to it with the toggle switch to go back and forth between clipping styles, sounds amazing! Love that you mentioned their early-2000s web page format, def nostalgic lol
@@LeonTodd I think you’d love it. The drive and tone knobs are much more flexible than on the stock ones and there seems to be more volume on tap now. I play Strats and 4-hole Marshalls and the ones I’ve tried so far through it have sung beautifully. I’ve never had a Bluesbreaker-style overdrive, but have been considering the Duke of Tone from MXR
I too have the same fully optioned Kot, into any amp with any guitar it kills. I ordered a second one 3 years ago( gold standard version) , should be ready in the next coupla years😳
How long ago did you get the pedal? I got on the waitlist in 2022 and I honestly don't know if I'll ever even get a chance to order directly through Analogman.
I got on the list Dec 9 2018 still waiting. Got a POT recently to tide me over very underrated pedal, you have to adjust the treble pot inside to get the most out of it. Great video as always
I have a King of Tone clone (Queen of Crow by GUP Tech) and I like to stack it with a Deucetone Rat or a custom dual Landgraff based Tube Screamer. I use one side of either with one side of the Queen of Crow. Sounds great.

That's part of the reason that this waiting list moves so slowly. If you can't be bothered to get one in a reasonable time frame, you should be removed from the list. 6 months would be pretty reasonable I'd say, one year max. A lot of these late deciders just end up still getting it to then immediately flip it at an inflated price...
I certainly wouldn't wait in line for one, if I ever liked it in the first place. Sounds better with the humbuckers, especially the PRS. But, I still wouldn't wait to pay silly money for it.
I tried one a while back. It seemed kind of non-committal. When I thought it was going to get fuzzy, it didn't quiiite get there. When I thought it was going to get crisp and crunchy, it didn't hit it. The only thing I kept thinking was "I could spend this amount of money on four other pedals that each do more than this one."🤷♂
I had the same feeling when I played the KOT didn’t really do much, with my Marshall amp, then the thought £600 for a slight difference. So I Sold it got a vemuram Jan Ray very happy
it's a normal thing that the more distortion you add (via switching modes), the less push you get from the pedal. think more clipping, more compression -> lower signal
I’d like to get one but can’t justify the price on the second hand market and I don’t have the patience to wait for my name to make its way up a wait list
The only player I know of who uses the King of tone is Jon Levin :) The KOT pedal Sounds like when I hook up a TS9 with the RAT II and my GE7...maybe an MXR Micro amp as well, so you get like 4 pedals in one, of the highest quality, and the design and looks are just lovely! ;D
Sorry for asking. Did you check the internal dip switches to make sure that the external toggle switch was enabled? I’ve got a KoT with the external toggle switch, and there’s a noticeable difference in volume and gain when switching between the three modes. It’s not subtle at all on mine.
I was also having a hard time telling the difference in the switching at first between the clean boost, overdrive and the distortion. I was digging your hybrid picking which is something I need to work on. I used to be anti hybrid picking because I always thought the attack was bad compared to a pick, but I'm over that now.. 😛 Everytime you play that strat I think of Scotti Hill of skid row when they do the Jimi Hendrix song and when I've seen him in videos on the song I think it is quick sand jesus and he gets some killer tone and I think he's using a strat with Lace sensors.. That Les Paul is glorius.. Have you ever thought of gigging it? I've not seen you with it before live I don't think? Put a Duncan Custom 5 in the bridge and a jazz in the neck and you'll be in Nirvana for filth and clean tones.. ;-) It did sound better overall with the strat, but when you were using it as a boost for the LP and playing the UFO song it sounded really good too my friend. Great video.. Keep up the good work.. Can't wait to hear the other analogue man pedals.. and thanks to the dude that allowed you to borrow the same.. Update: just got my invite to order one yesterday… and yes, I’m gonna’… 🤣 Edit: Mike says the three modes don’t sound too different from one another at lower gain. Edit: Edit: Got my ship notice today! Got higher-gain on the red side and added a toggle on the red side to change modes without having to open it up. Edit: Edit: Edit: I actually got higher gain on both sides LOL! The thing does sound ridiculously amazing! The only truly transparent boost I've ever used. When the toggle is in distortion mode, it's like a compressed, harder-clipped version of the OD. The OD sounds like your amp, just a bit tighter and more crunchy, the clean boost sounds literally like a clean boost and works great with cleans in place of a compressor.
The king of tone is a benchmark pedal, and you pay for it. Right now my fave fuzz/dist pedal is a Laguna Sunride from Hovercraft Amps. It’s not subtle.
It sounds great…….but….. These are being sold for $800 to $1200, really? Seems like a great pedal but like the real centaur Klons just ridiculously hyped and expensive. I like my Duelist which is still expensive or even the Fulldrive MOSFET is still great or the Brownie Protein as alternatives.
I still can't understand why this pedal costs so much. From a sonic point of view it doesn't seem that great, in fact, at times it seems to be weak with very little volume and little depth. In my opinion a completely useless pedal. I happened to listen to it on a Marshall home and stay and honestly the sound was horrible to say the least, slightly better on a fender. However, if I really wanted one, I would definitely buy a Demonfx king of drive or a ly-rock King of clone: for just over 60 dollars you take home a pedal that is practically identical to the original, among other things very well built and entirely through-hole.

Oh wow the PRS and the Boogie sounded pretty deep an heavy with the pedal...you got some nice fuzzy Sabbath vibe ! Not to fuzzy though.
