Thank you Ben! Comparing our PSTN connectivity options can be confusing - good news is they all lead to getting phone numbers which makes Teams so much better!
I'm looking to convert our small business (under 5 users) desk phones to a MS Teams soft phone. These details are overwhelming to me! Is there a videdo you have that can walk me through the steps?
one question i am not finding answer to is: If i have on-prem sbc/gateways integrated with teams. How do i assign a teams user a phone number ? Do i require to add the on-prem phone numbers in Teams admin center -->voice-->Phone numbers ? Because when i do that, it seems like it's placing an order with microsoft.
Hi there! The model you're describing above is 'Direct Routing', which is fully supported. Ie, you can connect your SBC to Teams and when fully configured, the numbers connected to it will also show up in Teams, which you can then assign to licensed phone users. All the steps and details are outlined here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/direct-routing-configure You definitely don't need to purchase numbers from Microsoft using this model. Hope this helps!
@@CollaborationSimplified thank you so much. This is exactly what i was looking for. And the link also clears many other questions about direct routing process i had. I am about to be put on a Teams project, this would be very helpful. Thank you so very much.

I agree, Microsoft's Marketing Team should leverage his skills
As long as they let me play Super Mario on breaks, I'd be up for it!
