      If his first victim hadn’t been brave enough to make a victim impact statement I think he may have actually had a chance, thank God she was a brave kick ass woman and made such a powerful statement. The parole board looked at his previous records and they were vague and certainly didn’t include the actual crime, it was a shock to them. I don’t know how in the world he managed to get the DA to press lesser charges and cover it up. I certainly hope there weren’t more cases like this. I wish they would have shown his reaction while she was making her statement, I would have like to have gauged his rage.

      I'm usually of the mindset that plea deals are a setup for the defendant. They are designed coercion, used to gain a conviction, leading the defendant to believe they could never win at trial. However, I do agree with you that violent crimes should never ever be given plea deals. What this man did to this woman is horrific. He should have been given the maximum time in prison and never be allowed a pardon! Sex offenders, child s*x offenders, abusers of women, children, and the elderly are never given enough time! Anyone so egomaniacal that they believe "you're my wife & I can do anything I want to you" has an inherent flaw in their character that they treat someone like 'their property.' This harkens back to centuries old concept that allowed Slavery to propagate worldwide & those current cultures which still abide w/ that philosophy. It is further disturbing that DAs would allow such a vile & heinous crime as this to be minimized as some petty offense w/ a slap on the wrist. We most certainly need to strike a balance between the Rights of the Victim & the Rights of the Offender, but far too many Legislatures, Judges & DAs are betraying the Victims entirely & have swung the wrong way off the path of Justice, especially when it comes to those who prey on Women & Children.

    People are given lesser charges in exchange for a guilty plea when the state cannot prove its case. Domestic incidents are hard to prove. Thank goodness the victim was made aware of this attempt.

      dv cases are hard because victims pull back, take back etc ive been that victim many of us have and unfortunately because we do or have it makes it harder for not only the ones that do but for the ones that dont.

    This dude seems to think it is ridiculous that they would dare to ask him questions and not just instantly grant it, since he knows he is such an amazing individual with a super important job.

    Classes do not guarantee change. It’s usually just who a person is. I just get a sense from his demeanor that he is a ticking time bomb. People like this who WANT to change require a lifetime of therapy.

    how the heck do these states put in place such options for violent criminals!!?

    • @divadarlene0901
      @divadarlene0901 8 месяцев назад +4

      These things are put in place for people that may be innocent but charged, people with cases with mitigating circumstances,people that have non violent crimes and some people that may have done an act as a child. But violent sex attacks should never be granted without the full crime being known.

    I was concerned when he said he slapped his FOUR YEAR OLD CHILD after she hit him. Then the victim services lady read the statement from his ex-wife about what he did to her. Yeah, no, denied. You haven't dealt with your problems. He's just stifling them, trying to pretend they didn't happen.

    did he really say "I learned its okay to EXPLODE in other ways, such as FOUL LANGUAGE" and "I learned it's SOMETIMES not okay to spank your child" ??
    WTF that's the standard? Dont be violent ALL the time and if you have to, verbal abuse is not so bad in comparison?? Da Fuq?
