And both birds seem to have one a special to my knowledge they were cast aside as a marked bird ... novice or not I had it done to mine a few years ago mine was a genuine mistake and only my second show.
Hi Richard, sadly i don’t have its parents any longer as he was bred in 2021. His father was an outcross but I bred his mother, thankfully I still have the direct bloodline including chicks from himself. Hopefully with the correct pairings this year I will produce some more like him🤞
Just asking because has he bred anything of note to date? He could be one of these birds that for whatever reason don't pass their genes on. But you definitely know his parents do because they have bred him! Also he could skip a generation. Good luck, keep up the work. Also
@@richardlilley1854 the young are good, but not as good as him. I’m working on the pairings for spring and tempted to breed him to his daughter, therefore doubling up on his genes. Hopefully this may throw his quality incase it skips a generation. I’ll also be pairing the other offspring of his to birds from the same family, theoretically this should amplify the genes and throw some decent birds 🤞
Could you possibly pair him with more than one hen, even if it means floating the eggs? Pity you could not source a hen who is related to him,and auntie or half sister, which is off as good quality as the cock bird or even slightly better. But as you know these types of birds are highly sought after.
Thanks!

The birds at the show look stressed.
