Those Fruit Doves are actually Yellow footed Green Pigeons. We find them here in the wild in India. It is reassuring to see them in such expos that now atleast these beautiful birds won't go extinct once they start breeding in captivity.

No, there is very few waterfowl at this event.
Bare in mind, as this is in the UK, there are ALOT of restrictions on swans. Any wild swan is owned by the British Crown, and any captive swan has to be kept under license.

As an ex-aviculturist I must say that I feel uncomfortable seeing some species in display cages that are clearly too small or in appropriate for the species, the lapwings and golden oriel for example. I was always concerned by birds sat on their own on the floor, not a sign of good health there were examples of this in the video.
Whoever sets the rules for this show needs to set better standards for housing birds during the show.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed being a bird keeper and breeder and I always gave my birds as much space as possible using aviaries all my birds had access to internal and external aviaries.

The aviculture hobby has literally saved species from extinction. These are only display cages. If you think keeping birds in captivity is cruel then you shouldnt have a dog either

@@julialungan4722I’m sorry but what absolutely hilarious comparison… dogs are domesticated animals, that cannot be in the wild and dogs are absolutely fine with their own space whether it’s a kennel with an outdoor area or at home. They’re not suffering unless they’re in a literal cage all day (which of course is cruelty). Birds on the other hand… many that are kept are wild birds, not domesticated like chickens and farm ducks. Birds that need to be in the wild. In no way shape or form do keeping birds help a species or save them. Conservation in the wild and managing habitat as well as banning/controlling hunting or illegal trade is what saves them. Take macaws in central and South America for example. Macaws became heavily endangered, by people taking them from nests and selling them to westerners or other people who have no care for the well being of wild animals. In countries like Costa Rica for example, 2 native macaw species are now booming back in a recovering population since they tackled illegal wildlife trade.

@@OCAVIARYgreat video. Seen twite on the Norfolk coast but they’re doing bad and it’s great what projects like that can do, however rewilding projects are vastly different to the average person keeping birds. The commenter I was replying to has compared it to keeping dogs. Most averíes are just for fun at the expense of wild birds taken from their natural setting. Rewilding white storks, white tailed eagles amd twites is conservation with the sole intent to reintroduce. People going and buying non-domesticated species for their own benefit is not good at all. Would you not agree that the illegal wildlife trade has vastly negatively effected populations in Latin America like macaws which I’ve mentioned? 99% of the time people having birds are not for the intent to breed and release them, they’re pets. Big conservation projects that are run by large organisations and multiple scientists is not the same as bird collecting as many do. By all means organisations do what they can by taking and rearing chicks for more chance of survival, however a collector having a scarlet macaw at home is doing nothing for the species, whilst in its native range locals are finding every nest and plucking them out of their holes to sell to westerners who pay a lot. Same goes for the passerines too. It’s not ethically correct if it’s an individual keeping them.
