I stopped playing in around 2015 right before Legion came out. And I came back in October/November 2023. I bought the TWW expansion with the lvl 70 boost and used it instantly on my druid. Didn't know anything about the gameplay, dragonriding, talenets, etc.... Now I love it. I love it so much I even made a RUclips channel where I post some of my Mythic runs 😄
I started playing WoW when BfA was the current content. The best advise I got from my friend who got me into WoW said this: "Start in your racial/class zone, then once you get to Stormwind/Orgrimmar, start in Cataclysm first". So my advise is this. Start in your racial zone. Once you get to your Capitol city, go to Chromie time, and go through Cataclysm. It's a better way to experience the game closest to Vanilla unless you go play Classic, which is another good way to experience WoW as a new player. Don't go through Exiles Reach, don't rush, play the game & explore, and I guarantee you, you will appreciate and learn new things fresh.
I started out in legion but "seriously" started playing in BFA such a good memories I really loved the theme of bfa also very good music and artstyle was awesome
It really depends on your goals, but you’ll have a lot of fun no matter what. Yes, blizzard should help new or returning people better, but even without that it’s not so tough to ramp up. See you in game! 😄
WoW is new player friendly if they play the game and not try to follow try hards to M+ and raiding. Just don't use the boost and start a NEW character and take the time to learn. once they get to 40 on the new character they will be itching to use that boost and have a main they can work on.
new players don't care about optimization from the get go and for a first playthrough in elwynn forest or the barren you don't need a guide are flawless gameplay at all, not even at max lvl in nhc dungeons.
It is not.. The ui is still bad for informing the player. Had controller support, and with all these console mmos having it, the version in wow is horrible, needs work and causes more confusion to some of the new players. Needs better tutorial for the important spells, rotation, they have a little but needs a lot more. The story, give a, the story thus far. 2 to 3 mins.

Agreed 100% to the play and explore and not rush!
