It's truly amazing that The Church has upheld this kind of quality music for the past four decades. That deserves a big compliment.
SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
40 yrs. Wow.
Getting betta & betta which each passing album. There changes in band members continues to enhance band with Steve at the helm.
The most underrated band in the world for a long time.
Unbelievable! How can a band play for 40 years and still write relevant, timely and stylistic melodies as if it were 1983? Long Live The Church! ❤❤❤
Brilliant, sublime. True to the spirit and sound of my all time most cherished band. The revamped lineup sounds fantastic. Long Live The Church.
Pikeswrath. Well said, even their outtakes releases are top notch, and the offshoot projects like Speed of the Stars, Isidore, Kilbey /Kennedy and Kilbey and Gareth Kotch are right up there. I once tried to make a Church related compilation but gave up as there was literally nothing to leave out!
Wow! What a treat. 3 a.m. in BCN. The Church never disappoint🤗👍🏼Besides, I've just turned 57! Sort of a gift🎁
Is this a new song?
Second single from next L.P. "Cruel World"😉
A middle 8 without percussion? The F word? This is a new free bird. So good. Happy Birthday 🎉🎉
Happy birthday! 🥳
@@stevenlars4914 Thank youuuu!👍🏼
I’ve been following The Church since seeing them live in a small club in 1981. I was 13 at the time. I’ve grown with each of their albums since, adoring the first seven and them progressively losing touch after Priest=Aura, their last true classic. I have rediscovered a lot their 90s and 00s more obscure stuff and really tuned in again since the excellent Untitled #23. I am truly speechless about this last release, so rich, imaginative and relevant. I saw them live in New York last night and I am still mesmerized by the experience. 😮😮😮❤
No band like The Church.
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I was having the shittiest day and now it is justified.
Epic, melancholic, mysterious, elegant, hypnotic... 100% pure Church sound... an instant classic!
Ace Track !! It's 1980 Again 😎
👍
Beautiful, so new yet so The Church! I can't wait for the complete album!
Classic 80s sound. Stunning.
Didn’t believe it until I heard the whole release, but this is one of the top 3 Church albums in their history. Right behind “Heyday” for me. Wow
Oh it's the church alright; hallowed be thy name. Glorious 12-stringery.
The last 40 years have flown by, haven’t they?
What if I told you it was true that the new album by The Church called The Hypnogogue was amazing? Yes, it is true!
Hi from France 🇫🇷 proud for this french title "C'est la vie". This is à good song. I m 53 old ans i Know this band since Under a milky way and Reptile. Incredible this morning that youtube algorithm offer to me this song as a souvenir, C'est la vie lol.
This song sounds like the Church channeling their past, maybe even as far back as "Of Skins and Hearts". It's really nice, I like it a lot. If you listen to the outro at the 4 minute mark, it sounds an awful like an Isidore song, which makes me think that Jeffery Cain may have written this particular piece (Isidore being a Kilbey/Cain side project).
Major lineup change and they come up with one of their most wonderfully churchy songs in years.
Snds gr8.
Hey Stevie k, the boys say hi !
i thought P=A would always be the Church's best, but this new record is fucking magnificent. It's their best.
Reminds me of the Gold Afternoon Fix album. Love it!
Even further back ....Of Skins and Hearts 😃
Ticks every box which makes The church so special.....thanks.
Fantastic. Timeless sound. Can't wait for the album!!
Blessed to have seen this song played live 3 times so far!!!! ❤🤘
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Thechurchofficial Hello! I’m not sure if this is the message request here but I’ll give it a shot :-)
Still going after all these years, I would love to see you. Can you come do a small venue in the Northern Arizona area sometime, please? That would be amazing.
Hit the like button before listening to the song.
This Sounds Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you again in Vancouver BC!
Instant classic. Brilliant.
Wow! This is awesome
Saw them perform this live last night; the Church and Steve Kilbey truly are a remarkable musical gift to us all
"The Hypnogogue" is to me a very good yet not one of the absolute top albums by this incredible band. In some parts I miss the unique styles of guitar playing by Marty and Peter - even though their successors have also great skillfulness on the instrument. "C'est la vie" is one of my favourites on the album - as it is a really flashback to the early days of the band. Sounds a lot like a song from the first two albums - great!
the black watch love you still.
I did not expect this greatness.
This is great. Thanks Steve and crew. Love you guys.
one of the best endings I have heard in a long time.
Splendid song🔥Back To The Future, The Church🙏🏻🍀❤️

They're baaack.
Imperial😎
love it!
Much love from your biggest fan from Salt Lake City! Love this song and the others I caught this summer !! Cannot wait for the album!
Steve writing this about Marty?
... marvelous..... 🎶💜
Brilliance again!
For just a few short moments, I was concerned this was a cover of the 1987 Robbie Neville song of the same name....
UN SALTO NEL TEMPO. UNA MERAVIGLIA
Nice to hear some chiming and jangly guitars again. At first listen lacks a nice melodic hook to make it really memorable though.
Love Love them and want to see them again - I saw them live April 2002♉
Brilliant. Love this.
Good onya guys!
Otro nuevo éxito. Este tema suena muy bien. Saludos !
❤.
♥♥♥...♥♥♥
more goosebumps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this song.
😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
Very reminiscent of Modern English
No. Everyone tried to copy the Church. True fact. The Church formed in 1980, first EP "Of Skins and Hearts" came out in '81. Modern English formed in '87- very late in hopping on The Church bandwagon.
@@catharineorellana3522 nope, it does sound like modern english! years active 1979-1987, 1989-1991, 1995-present

@@catharineorellana3522 I didn't mean that The Church somehow copied Modern English, I would assume that these bands mutually influenced eachother at some level, and that's a good thing by my own judgment. By 'reminiscent' I do mean that this song reminds me of Modern English's specific sound.
@@catharineorellana3522 Modern English were around years before 87, first album Mesh and Lace, early 80s
🖤
Fabulous 👌..... but I miss Peter, Marty and the superb Ploogy
Why do they not use Bandcamp?
We have a website and social media
Never heard of them.
I, m afraid i find Kilby s voice is so flat and dreary with this sort of material , compaired to the high energy of the early stuff
I liked it on first listen, despite it owing a bit too much to Bowie. That's until I caught the cursing, which is a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned.
Cursing? Where is it?
@@mirrortime The setup rhyme for 'good luck with that', at least it sounds like it to me.. I know I'm in the minority but I have old fuddy-duddy sensibilities.
@@paulw6057 good spot !
They have always swore in their songs. So what.
@@paulcollins5586 Every now and then, more so as the band went on. Everyone has their own values. I went off of R.E.M. over the same thing.
