Had mine for 7years now, and loving every drive. Actually took this car around Australia with the family for 1 and a half months straight on the road. Love this car, it’s a future classic. V8’s in Australia now is rare on the road but lots of v6 versions.
Great review. Beautiful car. Like how it's not too audacious. All the talk of Malibu looks is ridiculous. There's a family face for sure but not that bad.
When GM killed Pontiac, the Bob Lutz said the G8 was too good to waste and it would be reintroduced as a Chevy. That it took so long, is what annoys me. Should have also given it an option as a manual and kept the cylinder deactivation that is standard in the Holden.
Nice to see this car's real heritage being acknowledged. It is, in fact, a Holden Commodore from Australia. And now, thanks to the bean counters in Detroit, GM has decided to euthanase Holden's Australian manufacturing plants after building cars in Australia since the 30s. GM wants to keep the Holden brand here but sell us Australians dressed-up Daewoos and Opels with the Holden Lion badge. It's not going to fly and the brand will probably die or become relegated to a very small selling stance. Whereas once Holden was Australia's top selling car it will become as obscure as Suzuki. So GM America...Australians will never forgive you for what you have done (needlessly) to a great Australian brand...cars designed and engineered locally for conditions like no other on the planet. And cars so well built that we actually sold them back to you as Chevrolets. Enjoy these cars whilst you can, my American cousins, because soon they will be a relic of the past. In one fell swoop GM America has not only killed off an entire industry here but all the parts-making companies as well putting thousands out of work. We will never forget this and I (and many people I know here) will never buy another GM product for as long as I live.
tripsadelica I feel similar. I dont blame American car companies though. Our politicians should have supported the industry but instead stupidly chose to be extreme right wing. Its a total disaster. Politicians and car companies - its still not to late..
+dale jackman It has to do with these damn trade deals, like the TPP. Except here in the USA we have folks like Obama (who is basically Marxist) and the neoconservative republicans colluding on an absolutely treasonous trade deal, a deal passed in secret and even after being signed into laws a few days ago still have not released to the public. Thank God for Wikileaks, they released a few pages of it and even those tidbits are shocking. Google Wikileaks TPP if you're interested in the "interesting times" we're living in.
+Chemist Yes, Chemist...you're right. We've all been misled by our respective governments with the TPP...regardless of what side the political 'fence" they are on. This deal, as well as the bullcrap idea of "golbalisation" is being run by people much more powerful than any one of our respective governments. The corporations have won. Whilst we live in a world thinking that our rights and democratic freedoms are being protected by our governments it's actually a dream. The corporations, with incomes greater than many national economies, are in full control. The TPP, which will hurt the developed nations in the "agreement" the most, is one sign of a massive sellout of sovereignty.
+tripsadelica Indeed! And the USA isn't just a "democracy" - we're a Constitutional Republic before we're a democracy. A plain democracy could consist of 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. But the magic and beauty of a Republic is the individual is always guaranteed certain God-given rights, including all the wonderful aspects of the Bill of Rights. *The worst part of the TPP is it tramples the Constitution and the Bill of Rights* and the American people have their faces so far shoved up their Facebook and Dancing-with-the-Stars asses they have no clue what is happening. Seems like we're going to get what we deserve.
Precisely, Chemist. Now you know why schools have been allowed to become softer places where discipline has flown out the window, any rigour in class work has been abandoned and respect has been trampled on. A dumb population addicted to programs about wanna-be pop stars and bachelors etc....etc...ad naseum... is a population easily led, easily controlled and easily brainwashed. When critical thinking becomes a rarity, when people accept a government's actions without question, when people are too dumb to know any different, therein lies the path to dictatorship by stealth and the end of the middle class and the beginning of a Dickensian system of the haves and the have-nots. I blame the media...media barons like Rupert Murdoch (the bastard) and the big corporations. Our western values and freedoms have become an illusion. What happens next is no longer within out control.
Canadian built engine, Australian built car, not available in Canada. What a shame. I bought a new 2015 Impala LTZ, it is a nicer styled car. I call it a Chevrolac because it has the same engine (3.6 L) V6 and built on the Cadillac XTS assembly line in Oshawa An all Canadian car. I'm very happy with it. Spent 30 years at GM in the Dynamometer test Lab testing engines. I know which ones are good ! They all are ! RockinRonny.
Do I have to remember everyone out there that the Chevy Commodore SS (what I would like to call it for its' combination of Chevy themes and features and Holden design and manufacture) is a "limited time offer"? It will be discontinued in both OZ and US after '16 MY. Also, after the accord with the Union (UAW/CAW) that saved GM-US, any vehicle that sells > 100K units has to be assembled in NoAm. So they had to limit imports from Holden, even if the Commodore came with options like V6's, lesser equipment or manual/high-cogs trannies. And now we KNOW there WON'T be an Alpha update to be made in NoAm (would've probably been in QU's Camaro line), so the Commodore and the Caprice Cop Special (LWB version of this car) will be axed after '16 MY as Holden closes their manufacture factories. If you like a performance large sedán you can "pest" GM-US to build an AWD slightly lower-powered version of the Cadillac XTS Vsport (420hp 2T-3.6L V6) as the new Impala SS (built on same platform and as it could be also a Buick Lacrosse Special). Enjoy it while it lasts...
You know you have a point! I would Love to see Buick Build a Modern Regal GNX on this Platform, even the Chinese might like a Luxury muscle car with six cylinders and a turbo or two ! Being the Cadillac has a good looking Interior, however has a Butt Ugly Exterior !!!
Lawrence Eich, some sources has hinted GM-US "may" try a GNX (has to be AWD, since it'd have way too much torque from its' FWD platform) over the next generation Regal/Insignia platform (would be Buick's version of the Insignia OPC)... At least you KNOW a Caddy from any other luxury car out there (they're brash and people like it for the most part...).
Tbh, the SS is a nice performance sedan option to purchase from Chev, but realistically, I'd much rather see a new Impala SS with a supercharged V6 for every day use =\
Good to see a Chevy that doesn't look like it was designed by a cartoonist. I appreciate a car that is sporty but doesn't obnoxiously want you to know it.
If it has magnetic ride control, that might be taken straight from the HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) Senator Signature (higher performance version of the Holden Calais, a slightly more luxurious Commodore).
its an aussie car which sadly this year gm made the decision to close all holden manufacturing plants in australia, we in australia get more variations of the commodore which is what the car is badged as here manual and auto versions and 4 cylinder v6 and v8 versions.
While the SS is a very unique and traditional vehicle, I believe GM should have either used the LS7 platform or maybe even the LSA. Even though the price of the vehicle would have increased, performance and demand would be greater for this vehicle and it would have been very interesting to see this against high performance European sedans.
Americans are lucky you only have to pay 45k where I'm Australia for the top of the range commodore with all the features the Chevy SS had, us Aussies would be paying around 55-60k
Well the Chevrolet SS is a niche model so they are only importing around 2000-3000 a year, Holdens plan was to bring the Commodore over as the top of the range model/Car! if you really want a SS in a V6 it still will cost you around 30-35k! V8s are getting rarer every year so of course they are going to be expensive! If you really want a v6 talk to your dealer!
I love the chassis, I just hate the body. Chevy needed a V8 sports sedan and they finally have it again. I just wish they would have made the Impala rear wheel drive and made this chassis the V8 SS option for it. The Impala looks SO much better than this car. In fact it's the only 4-door that rivals the Charger for looks in my opinion and it sucks that you can't get any kind of performance in the Impala although it looks so great
Unfortunately, it’s a shame GM also didn’t provided you🇺🇸guy’s with the Holden🇦🇺2013/17 HSV🔥Clubsport🏁R8/Senator🏁Signature/GTS/GTS-R🏁W1 (LS7🔥LS9) Gen-F (I & II) Sedan, Sportwagon (Tourer) & Ute (Maloo) vehicles!!!?
Well all of the above are actually Australian made classic American muscle cars no longer manufactured. One wonders if they were all marketed better in the US annd UK meaning greater sales ,could there still be a chance that GM would have continued manufacturing in Australia with perhaps a bigger share of those markets,
This car is NOT intended for great fuel economy, dammit! This car is a 4-door Corvette. If you want a gas sipper then get a Cruze. This car is for people who want to enjoy driving.
G'day , Really nice car , from OZ...but we have an equally impressive car from Ford too...The Falcon...The Ford Falcon versions in both XR 8 (V8) or the simply stunning 4.0 litre (inline 6) Turbo versions are gorgeous drives..Too bad the USA will never see the Mustang beating Aussie Fords other than RUclips..They actually, that is the V8 and turbo 6 , outperfom this car in the video...but it is a real nice car...Cheers Rod..
Brandon Herbertson they shouldnt and they should have, gas mileage on this thing is terrible for one that would have helped with that, and the engine i would hope to say would weight less so it might help with handling, but the V8 sound and feel is great they should have put cylinder deactivation on this car to give it the better gas mileage.
SenorSwagBuns No what they should have done is cylinder deactivation automatic and in sport mode it would be disabled. Silverado with same engine has it. Shame they didnt do it.
Holden did a concept car in 2004 that previewed the Zeta platform and the 2006 VE Commodore (Pontiac G8) and it had the 3.6 V6TT. Google Holden Torana TT36.
***** It's not GM's fault that you're cheap. Which is ironic because you think $20 an hour is not enough pay yet don't want to spend any money on a car. You can't have it both ways. Furthermore, the base Camaro starts at $23K but it doesn't have the V8. You need to move up to the 1SS to get that, and then we're already at 33K to start. No rear doors for starters and probably a lot less luxury so they're not even close to the same vehicle. As another comparison, a fully loaded Mazda 6 is $34K and nowhere near as lux or powerful. In conclusion: $46K is a bargain.
dchawk81 In australia we have much higher wages than you guys in the states. Minimum Wage is $21.60 for a casual ( no holiday or Sick day benefits) or $16.40 for a full time wage (holiday leave and sick leave included). In aus the Chev SS is a $60K + car in Holden Commodore SSV spec. So your getting a bargain. We have owned the new VF in Calais V spec since its release in june last year and have clocked some 36000kms. By far it is the best Commodore we have owned.
I would like to see a 2 door Version of this car called Chevelle with the HP 5.3 and cylinder deactivation to Improve economy !However $40,000 to $50,000 for this car is Way over priced for the majority of us hard working Americans, Not that the GMAC executives give a Flying Flip !!! A stripped down model would be nice or at least give us that choice !!!
1st, a 2 large door Chevy? Not enough volume for making it profitable (the only large GM coupes that "may" see the light of day are the FWD Buick Riviera on the Epsilon II/Lacrosse platform [they have been hinting at it for a while] and a Cadillac[either from the RWD CTS or a FWD Eldorado/ELD based on the Epsilon II/XTS, but not both]). 2nd it's all about profitability, Chevy already has Corvette/Stingray and Monaro (Camaro, built in QE-CA on Holden's Zeta platform, soon to be rethought on ATS platform). They're not fond on adding a 3rd larger one (Monte Carlo, anyone?). Most likely a Chevelle 2 door would have to derive from a smaller platform (check the RWD Cruze-sized 130R prototype, or "the American 1-Series coupé". Also, that's why the brands that should ask for the most "coin" should be the most able to make it on lesser sales volumes. 3rd, Holden will close their factories by '17 MY, so no need for throwing money on additional refinement. Also, there's no US replacement for Zeta in sight; too expensive for Chevy to use CTS RWD platform (maybe Buick?). There's also this agreement (saved GM from "going under") with the Union (UAW/CAW) that all models with an > 100K units potential would be built in US/CA, only lesser models could be brought from MX, KR... Add those two, and no way GM-US could increase volume on USDM Commodores/SS's (M/T, V6's...), so make the most profit/vehicle the market could take.
lol No option for me. I have a family of 4. This car fits the bill. I did not even drive the Camaro before buying but if handles the same you will love it on the twisties :)
Dangrousdave20 For one this doesn't compete with the mustang!!!! It's biggest competition is the SRT-8 Charger. As far as performance sedans go, it's very competitive. Why the fuck do you think it has a police counterpart the Caprice PPV? It's no slouch. Car companies have a set plan when they build a car. It's not all about performance. There's the luxury aspect, handling, and overall package. People talked shit about the G8 too and now folks are clamoring yo get it back. Compare cars to the cars they compete with not a whole different class. And by the way, for this car to basically be a family car but still have the torque to best a 5.0 outta the hole and still keep up when the power/weight ratio kicks in. 2011-12 5.0's had 412 hp remember? The fuck point are you trying to make with two cars that werent even built to compete with one another?
Since chevy has just stop making the SS he must have felt pretty good getting his hands on one 5:36 even if he didn't know that this car will no longer be made by chevy. The chevy SS and the phoniac g8 will truly be an American Classic💪
I don't think it looks very good either, I think the G8 looked way better. I never really got into the "sleeper" thought process. People saying "yes, please make my car super bland looking, I'd hate to be able to look back and be proud of my badass looking car. Id much rather be surprisingly fast for the looks of my car, although still just 415hp in a 4000 pound car so it's still probably gonna lose but that's cool..." I'd much rather have this same chassis over an Impala SS body
GM did not care for the SS and never wanted to sell them. It was only for an agreement years ago to import the SS for Holden but pontiac went out so we have to SS which is basically a G8 GXP
...just read where Autocar[top uk car mag] rates the Vauxhall-badged HSV GTS best pick v Merc E63 AMD S v BMW M5 v Audi RS6 Avant v their local hero Jaguar XFR-S....a good read.
Uuuuuuuuummmmmmm why the fuck would GM make a car called the SS?????? Just SS??? So is this car called the super sport??? So a iconic trim just got it's own car??? Wow epic fail GM!!!
No it doesn't. It doesn't officially stand for anything, somebody from GM, I forget exactly who said, "It's reminiscent of the Chevy Super Sport mantra."
I don't get it. Why are cars with that bad of gas mileage still being made? Horsepower and speed don't even matter on the road. It's all about saving money. Spending 46k to spend thousands more on gas. Stupid and insane.
I don't get it either.. some people just care about fuel economy and not driving pleasure. This car is driving pleasure, and i'm sure most people who get this car (like myself) also have an economical vehicle for a boring drive.. Drive this car and see if you feel the same way about economy.. I dare you to give it a test drive.. maybe then you will get it..
You don't have to buy this car. If you want a full size from Chevy go with the impala. But if you want a much more fun car stick with this. Obviously this car isn't gonna outsell many cars with the mpg but to people who enjoyed to g8( like me) this car is a option to buy.
now whou with ant bit of sanity would want this car ? cuz its not good in any thing its not comfortable no very fast not nice looking not economical GM beter stick to copy fords ideas cuz when u try something on your own its endup like this
Proof that there's still some car guys in the management of GM. This is a future collectors item.
i think they fucked up with mileage . something is wrong? should be at least 27mpg?
+David Heitman lol.. 27mpg from a 6.2L V8
The C7 has a 6.2 and gets 29mpg on the highway. The LS3 in the SS doesn't have cylinder deactivation or anything like that though.
C7 also has a 7th gear.
C7 no doubt has better aero and weight advantage too!
Had mine for 7years now, and loving every drive. Actually took this car around Australia with the family for 1 and a half months straight on the road. Love this car, it’s a future classic. V8’s in Australia now is rare on the road but lots of v6 versions.
Am I the only one who appreciates this car for what it is?
If Top Gear US to be taken seriously, I'd go for Cooley from Cnet, Sarah from Web2carz and this guy.
Great review. Beautiful car. Like how it's not too audacious. All the talk of Malibu looks is ridiculous. There's a family face for sure but not that bad.
Best review I've seen on this car on RUclips! Kudos!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the review, Micah! Music is very cool, also. I agree that we need more sport sedans in the U.S.
This is my favourite review because he actually openly talks about it being a Holden.
yeah , we dont like to admit that is what it is. is a nice job , looks like. but it ont save gm. spark sonic cruz spotty quality and reliability
Holden is General Motors, Australia. It's part of GM, not an outside company, so there's no reason Holden shouldn't be mentioned.
I see so many reviews about how good of job CHevrolet did with the car... It annoys me a lot
HoldenisAustralian me too. and many of us, americans, think its a brand new chevy
When GM killed Pontiac, the Bob Lutz said the G8 was too good to waste and it would be reintroduced as a Chevy. That it took so long, is what annoys me. Should have also given it an option as a manual and kept the cylinder deactivation that is standard in the Holden.
Man, I envy that guy. He simply has the best job in the world.
This car is rare now even in 2010. It’s going up in value and will be worth a lot in the future
Great review Micah!
You guys, Micah is just fun.
@ 2:30 Love the transition man!

looking to getting one no sunroof manual next year
Great review. Got a great laugh too! But a tip, if you want to do big easy burnouts turn off the ESP. Button is on the centre console.
@ 05:53 Oh man... you need to clip that part before too many people see it!
NEXUS
Like this car and color. Hope to own one at some point.
LOVE this car!
True classic for the ages
Lmao!!! I love this guy!!!!
Canadian built engine, Australian built car, not available in Canada. What a shame. I bought a new 2015 Impala LTZ, it is a nicer styled car. Is that 3.6l same as the one used in our Commodore SV6 (3.6l)?
Do I have to remember everyone out there that the Chevy Commodore SS (what I would like to call it for its' combination of Chevy themes and features and Holden design and manufacture) is a "limited time offer"? It will be discontinued in both OZ and US after '16 MY.

Good to see a Chevy that doesn't look like it was designed by a cartoonist. I appreciate a car that is sporty but doesn't obnoxiously want you to know it.
Surprised this doesn't have variable displacement to operate as an I4. Would've helped highway mileage considerably, like close or even over 30mpg..
What do you mean??? It has magnetic ride control...
If it has magnetic ride control, that might be taken straight from the HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) Senator Signature (higher performance version of the Holden Calais, a slightly more luxurious Commodore).
Actually, as Bruno TaTa has pointed out, it could be a 2014 model with normal shocks.
I wish they would've made 1 large grill instead of 2 grills.
Then it would like like an Audi, and be even less aerodynamic.
Thankyou finally an American review that recognises this car for what it actually is! Australian!
If your watching in 2018 I miss the Chevy SS and Pontiac g8
its an aussie car which sadly this year gm made the decision to close all holden manufacturing plants in australia, we in australia get more variations of the commodore which is what the car is badged as here manual and auto versions and 4 cylinder v6 and v8 versions.
Just be glad it didn't catch on fire.
It's Australian, not Italian. Look to the Charger for that :P
It had nothing to do with the car. The caution lighting system caught fire.
I know, but I couldn't resist being a smart alec
Chevy SS Pace Car Catches Fire in Daytona at Sprint Unlimited - 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup
While the SS is a very unique and traditional vehicle, I believe GM should have either used the LS7 platform or maybe even the LSA. Even though the price of the vehicle would have increased, performance and demand would be greater for this vehicle and it would have been very interesting to see this against high performance European sedans.
it's not unique if they used the same frame and design as the pontiac g8
The Pontiac G8 was a unique vehicle lol I know the SS was borrowed from that platform. It needs a more powerful engine though.
Great review goofball ;)
Americans are lucky you only have to pay 45k where I'm Australia for the top of the range commodore with all the features the Chevy SS had, us Aussies would be paying around 55-60k

This person by the username of, "AutoShow Fair" has been stealing many videos of yours.
Is that the same color as the G8's Pacific Gray Metallic?
johnnieace45 No it has perfect blue though.
+JamesR3d no more perfect blue, for model year 2016
+johnnieace45 Pacific Slate, and this not that color. Magnetic Grey Metallic came on G8s.
rcairforceone
I almost bought one that was Pacific color, was kind of a teal blue
That color in Australia is called Prussian Steel
Unfortunately, it’s a shame GM also didn’t provided you🇺🇸guy’s with the Holden🇦🇺2013/17 HSV🔥Clubsport🏁R8/Senator🏁Signature/GTS/GTS-R🏁W1 (LS7🔥LS9) Gen-F (I & II) Sedan, Sportwagon (Tourer) & Ute (Maloo) vehicles!!!?

Just a simple and quick car. It's fine with me. GM has done worse. Ex. Pontiac Aztec. :'( It still gives me nightmares.
my mom still own the Buick Rendevouz and thats the same as the aztec, she says its been really reliable...
Slowly but only partially gaining faith in humanity back.
Yeah most new cars are just dumb and boring...But cars like this are making me happy towards the auto industry!
it has the same engine as the cts v right? why did they nerf the horsepower so much, almost 150 less :/
Jason Bieberle CTS-V is supercharged. This car isn't, that's the horsepower difference there.
it is a sedan not a high performance coupe
Griffin Mark but the CTS is a sedan also, there are plenty powerful sedans
+Jason Bieberle This car has the LS3 6.2L. The CTS-V and ZL1 both are equipped with the LSA, 6.2L Supercharged for 556 and 580hp respectively
They should have called it the "Laguna SS" or "Chevelle SS", not just "SS". No one even knew about it.
He's pretty good looking for a tv show!
kinda looks like a updated Suzuki Kizashi...which isn't a bad thing but this is supposed to be a SS so I don't think it fits with this brand
This color really does wonders for this bland design.
This car is NOT intended for great fuel economy, dammit! This car is a 4-door Corvette. If you want a gas sipper then get a Cruze. This car is for people who want to enjoy driving.
HAHAHAHAAAA you're hardcore alright lmao!! How about several years of Viper? BMW M5? The list goes on and on.
Holden🇦🇺2013/17 VF🔥Commodore SS-V🏁Redline (Series I & II) Sedan Sportwagon (Tourer) & Ute (Maloo)!!!
It's a shame they couldn't give it a new interior. Current one is really cheap compared to a Commodore .
is the interior black? it looks grey
+potheed29 Black with red stitching.
potheed29 so grey
I've never heard a Ford Taurus SHO called a "show" before....
At that price point I would buy that car
they should put the cts vsport 3.6 twin turbo in this monster
No
Brandon Herbertson they shouldnt and they should have, gas mileage on this thing is terrible for one that would have helped with that, and the engine i would hope to say would weight less so it might help with handling, but the V8 sound and feel is great they should have put cylinder deactivation on this car to give it the better gas mileage.
SenorSwagBuns
No what they should have done is cylinder deactivation automatic and in sport mode it would be disabled. Silverado with same engine has it. Shame they didnt do it.
Holden did a concept car in 2004 that previewed the Zeta platform and the 2006 VE Commodore (Pontiac G8) and it had the 3.6 V6TT. Google Holden Torana TT36.
+Mike Sonntag AFM-DOD sucks! Too many issues with it. I am glad this car and my 2010 Silverado do not have this in them.
It’s ok… though reason why it didn’t do well is cause the charger was just better.. more horsepower in top of just looking better
In my opinion, this is better than a BMW M5. It is cheaper, less showy, and looks better.
Yeah It looks like it
10 people like ecoboost
His good looks though >>>
This powertrain and drivetrain should have been in the current Impala. Plus all the engine options from the current impala. Impalas are RWD Chevy!!!
I actually like this. 46K isn't bad really.
By far it is the best Commodore we have owned.
dchawk81
...And, he got it wrong. They're made in Victoria/Adelaide Australia...I honestly thought that was common knowledge.
This car is a 2014. How can you kelly blue book mess that up
chevy should have made the impala rear wheel drive and then added a ss version.
Daniel D how do you know that?
The only reason I like this car is because it kinda looks like batman from the superman movie.
19" tires??...you mean wheels. Right.
It has i good sound
Hello Guys, not all of us like 4 doors.
Steve
Then STFU
i want this car.... what is with the shit mileage? i have a challenger. twice the mileage.. and 200+ lbs. doesn't make sense?
Old LS3 without any fancy technology.
Ill get the camaro ss instead of this...
+Conrado Colcol 2dr vs 4dr two different cars
+Ralph L yes i know, i still prefer the camaro ss... Get it!
lol No option for me. I have a family of 4. This car fits the bill. I did not even drive the Camaro before buying but if handles the same you will love it on the twisties :)
+Ralph L yeah! but I'm also interested on the gt350....
Chevy still makes the BEST car EVER !
This is a Pontiac G8 GT actually. Nothing new about the car only $15,000 more expensive than the last built 2009 Pontiac G8 GT
No, it's a Pontiac G8 GXP
Zach Weibel That has had quite a lot of work done to it.
Since chevy has just stop making the SS he must have felt pretty good getting his hands on one 5:36 even if he didn't know that this car will no longer be made by chevy. The chevy SS and the phoniac g8 will truly be an American Classic💪
No the Dodge Hell cats are true American classics...
Still rather have a Pontiac g8....
"suede-like surfaces"??? Come on man you're an automotive journalist! It's called alcantara!
süper mükemmel bir araç
You lost me at the gas mileage.
victor chavez Then it was never the car for your needs Victor.
I have a 2017 Holden ute with the same LS3 engine, auto and get 31mg with a mix of driving. Don't know what he's talking about
this car has manual thats one of its great strengths don't get auto in this car
This car is way to expensive. I can see $40k
David Csurgo they run 10k off specials 3 times a year.
Definitely looks like a Malibu...I've seen them in person. Nothing about them stands out. looks about as boring as a pontiac gto.
Good point
I don't think it looks very good either, I think the G8 looked way better. I never really got into the "sleeper" thought process. People saying "yes, please make my car super bland looking, I'd hate to be able to look back and be proud of my badass looking car. Id much rather be surprisingly fast for the looks of my car, although still just 415hp in a 4000 pound car so it's still probably gonna lose but that's cool..."
I'd much rather have this same chassis over an Impala SS body
You surely haven't seen the HSV models of it, especially the 2017 HSV GTS-R W1.
wow😍👍
I think I'd rather pick up an older cts-v sedan over this.
14 City/21Hwy??...lol,no thanks.
I like this car but it shouldn't be around $44,000..
My bought a 2 year old Beamer, a little over 20,000 dollars.
+Griffin Mark Used 2014 models are in the low 30's
+Rob Torres bmws depreciate really badly
It's $52000 in Australia
2014 under $30000 where it's built
The failure of the the SS is proof that GM has no idea what they're doing.
GM did not care for the SS and never wanted to sell them. It was only for an agreement years ago to import the SS for Holden but pontiac went out so we have to SS which is basically a G8 GXP
No thanks
Great car, don't know what you're thinking.
American heart in Korean body.
You mean Australian body, because it built and designed here.....
Holden is Australian by continent, and fully a GM brand.
Where????
GM owns Holden, and is GM of Australia (GM-H). The Monaro was, and the Commodore is made in AU.
...just read where Autocar[top uk car mag] rates the Vauxhall-badged HSV GTS best pick v Merc E63 AMD S v BMW M5 v Audi RS6 Avant v their local hero Jaguar XFR-S....a good read.
No manual transmission no fun ...
isnt me or does the SS looks like a Malibu from a distance
"Sleeper"
Look like a Korean car...
Unless you're trying to be the usual Korean-basher (a no-no) Korean cars lately are looking EUropean for the most part...
47k for a stinking chevrolet. they should have gone out of business.
As should your post here.
Uuuuuuuuummmmmmm why the fuck would GM make a car called the SS?????? Just SS??? So is this car called the super sport??? So a iconic trim just got it's own car??? Wow epic fail GM!!!
So the GTO/Chevelle were epic failures as well? The Chevelle was a trim of the Malibu and GTO a trim of the Tempest.
it stands for sport sedan you moron
No it doesn't. It doesn't officially stand for anything, somebody from GM, I forget exactly who said, "It's reminiscent of the Chevy Super Sport mantra."
Call it the chevy malibu ss .....
IsaiahCROWHEART That'd be a Chevelle
I don't get it. Why are cars with that bad of gas mileage still being made? Horsepower and speed don't even matter on the road. It's all about saving money. Spending 46k to spend thousands more on gas. Stupid and insane.
Because some people prefer them...
Because cars like this are more fun to drive. Some people prefer to have fun (like me) than save gas.
Because only yuppies drive a Prius...
Little did we know that it was going to flop and be discontinued in 2017...
😂could this be more cheesy
Only in Wisconsin.....
now whou with ant bit of sanity would want this car ? cuz its not good in any thing
its not comfortable no very fast not nice looking not economical
GM beter stick to copy fords ideas cuz when u try something on your own its endup like this
Daniel D
what u wrote is so stupid and without any argument that i rly struggle with any anwser at least close to such a low lvl
