Your a very lucky Man, she is sweet as they come, with those headers, I know it's a beast, 454 loved headers, !!!!Damn I watch this 3 times Tonite, thanks for sharing this mi Friend !!!
Pat you need to show this car off again after you get it cleaned up and looking sweet again. Love those bucket seats and center console, beautiful machine.
I have a friend who had one of these in the mid-late 70's but it was a SS 396. He still has it. Got a lot of fond memories riding in it up and down Westheimer in Houston during that time.
Great to have you back Patrick. I can’t claim to be a big Chevelle guy but I really enjoy your enthusiasm and knowledge of your subject. I’ve watched a load of your videos but my favourite is your rolling burnout leaving a show in your Cranberry red car in the dark. The sound that car makes is just awesome !
I just cant get tired of these old Chevys! I've owned a 70 Malibu 350 4 speed for 18 years and still enjoy driving it every time I take it for a spin!! Thanks for another great video!
I know where a 22000 mile original is in New Mexico, but the original owner doesn't want to be bothered. It is glorious. His discipline in keeping this car correct is unmatched. It doesn't even go to shows. He's unaffected by anything. It's his absolute favorite thing next to his family. I remodeled 3 bathrooms for him in 2009. Saw it then. Pristine. Original tires and spare! 4 speed car. Tricentennial Gold.
I think this is my favorite car you've found. Tuxedo Black 4 sp LS6 hard to top. And really remarkable body. The first thing I noticed that I learned from you are the chrome trim under headlights that notes an "earlier build".. That's a keeper and a full rotisserie restoration car. Great find. USA1 🇺🇸
You, sir, have uncanny luck! Finding just ONE of these gems in a lifetime is a rare feat. Finding TWO LS-6 Chevelles, just MONTHS apart, and both cars have been napping indoors since the late '70s, tells me you would also probably win the state lottery the next time you purchased a ticket! Big time congratulations on your finds! The 1970 Chevelle has always been my favorite car, ever since I was 4 years old and my older brother owned one. I am now 51 and still haven't owned a 1970 Chevelle SS, just a basket case Malibu about 20 years ago.
How is it proof? Do you believe everything you see on RUclips? It's just hard for me to believe this car sat on a lift unknown for almost half a century. Just sounds a bit iff to me. Seeing as how these are highly sought after.
It makes me feel good knowing these cars are still being found. I may never be able to afford one but at least these have survived and are in the hands of people who will keep them safe. thank you for sharing with us.
It's amazing to me how many LS6s you find and how, even though they have been modified significantly over the decades, they remain largely intact. Even in the day, it seems like people knew these were going to be a big deal 52 years later. My date-coded-tire-air ocd mid-yearCorvette restoration obsession is greatly rewarded with your insistence on assembly line accuracy. Thanks for the memories.
Hello Patrick … I’ve been following your RUclips channel for a while. Let me congratulate you on your find an purchase of the LS6. Couldn’t ask for a better owner to restore! Keep posting vids. Once again… congratulations
❤ I absolutely love this car I had a 70-396 4th Street and I went through a divorce and ended up selling it and I've always wanted another one if I could get one I'd want one just like this absolutely amazing❤
Patrick I just turned 6o years old. Car dealer for 40 years. Back in the 80 s this stuff was everywhere ,not anymore, but you still seem to find em. I know the feeling of getting one bought. GOOD WORK MAN...
This is a cool video because you can tell he's been waiting & working towards this ☝ moment his entire adult life. You know this 70 Chevelle will never be for sale! Congratulations
I've always loved 1970 Chevelles. If I ever hit the lottery, I'll be hunting for a numbers matching black on black, no stripe, no vinyl top 70 SS. Since I'd like to actually drive it rather than setting valve lash every few weeks, I'd probably look for an L-34 or LS-5 car. On the other hand, I don't mind setting valve lash now and then lol! Until I'm rich though, I'll just be happy with the black on black 70 Malibu that my wife and I restored and modified ourselves. While it's not a numbers matching car, it does have a full house small block and can definitely hold its own. I've never even thought about turning it into a "clone" either.
I'm starting to wonder if Patrick has a barn in a non disclosed area that is filled with all these Chevelles he buys!! but Nice Chevelle Patrick! grats on your purchase
My Baltimore L34 here in western PA still had the 1978 inspection sticker Also it had 1969 SS396 door panel emblems on it...it is an early build. I bought the car 20+ years ago but it sat through a divorce and the last owners exwife sold the engine and tranny I got it with NOS quarter and fenders and parts to go with it he aquired after getting it back. Nice find Patrick
Congrats Patrick on another great barn find LS6. Can't wait for a follow up to see miles and underneath. I noticed there is a large collection of 70 LS6 cars coming up at Mecum soon. Someone may want your assistance to verify for a purchase. I know I would if I was in the market. Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to sell my Gto for another mid year Vette, Chevelle or Nova. Anyway it was great to see your new video and purchase after waiting for a month or so since the last one. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and see your next posting soon.. 👍
This car is incredible. Black with white stripes, M22, 410 rear end. And in this shape. Yeah I'd have to say it is the Holy Grail. I'm thinking that the gas crisis of the mid 70's has been a God send to you. Can't imagine many people could afford to drive them. That gas crisis must have produced a number of sweet gas guzzling barn finds. Thanks for the video.
In 1972 a friend from high school, after a bet two get straight A's in his last report card father bought his son a brand new LS 6 with 454 Holly 4 barrel cowl induction Hurst shift the works. One early summer day he took the challenge to race a mutual friend who had a big block cougar. After cougar took the lead for maybe 3 seconds before we zipped on by. He kept accelerating. I said that's enough Steve you won. He replied just a minute. My heart started to race. I looked over at the speedometer. It read 142 mph. My entire life flashed before my eyes. Your car is the exact same he had except his had the Hurst t handle and was the popular blue with black stripes.
That’s awesome glad it went to someone who appreciates it!! I admired that car ten years ago along with the car beside it!!! Can’t wait to see it dusted off!!! #swoyersville
Any type of negative comment about this video is pure jealousy. Put her back to original and make everyone's mouth water. Black with white stripes. UNBELIEVABLE LOVE IT
Patrick is the ls6 sniper! That's why normal folks will never be able to find a ls6! Patrick your my guy but your disclaimer is "If you need help Autheticating your 70 SS Chevelle please contact me" Somehow you purchase the really nice numbers matching or rust free car everytime. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Goodday Patrick, Congratulations on your find, you put in the hard work, you deserve the rewards. That Chevelle couldn't find a better nee owner in you. Keep us all posted with what you are planning for this LS6. Your number 1 Fan in Australia Louis Kats from Melbourne Australia ☺ 👍 ❤
So what are your plans ? Repaint or just clean ? Stripe color would have to go ! I owned a full frame off I did back in “98” just like it but with white stripes ! Oshawa Canada car / ended up in Reno,nv.
Glad to learn about the tachometer discrepancy, that would have thrown me off as an amateur in Chevelles Getting tripped up on something like that could get the seller insulted and make you lose a buying opportunity. Could you imagine losing a purchase on this car because of the tachometer not being correct??!!
The absolute fucking STANDARD !!!! Of American muscle. My first car at 16 was a Camaro. I love the Camaro. But this !!! Is the greatest muscle car Chevrolet ever built!!!
A great find indeed and I bet it came with a very high price tag! Dust or not it's very rare & in great condition. What little that's not original doesn't take away what that 70 SS is & clean up as is will increase its value even more! Lucky guy.
I am freaking blown away . Yeah , I was born just right but most 454 Chevelles were red with black stripes. Your brilliance tells me black with white stripes a four speed and a must have 410 posi tells me that's the model I would desire . Headers ? Argh not me . I truly believe stock forever . I WOULD NOT CHANGE A FUCKING THING. I REALIZE I AM JUST A CARETAKER SUBJECT TO DEATH. The car should roll on after I die . I would put aside the stock tires and buy soft compound drive tires. Have some fun side stepping the clutch for some tirespin . I would have the car for the epic styling with the sheer excitement of being part of history . A big thank you AND a huge hug from one passionate lover of muscle cars to an even bigger one You , sir are one of the best . God bless our country AND you .
A friend of mine bought a early SS 396 i don't remember which engine model but he said it had some aluminum parts, well it was a four speed , and he could not or wouldn't drive it, so I went to retrieve it for him, after a short time , he said please see what it will do , I was a Mopar man, but I'll tell your, it had to be about a 4/11 rear end, it was a beast, it was hairier, than a grizzly bear , in a raccoon coat, it would sqauk the tires from 3rd to 4th year!!!! It revved like a tornado , what a car, we drove it till it was low on gas, his eyes were like cups & saucer's, I'll never forget driving that Chevy, I ended up buying a 454 !!!

Wow Patrick that’s a truly amazing find. A 50 year old car and all it needs is a good detailing, a tank of gas and it’s good to go 😁
That tank is gonna need to be cleaned out if it wasnt emptied already prior to storage.
