    I love one subtle bit; when everyone else starts cheering, you see Adama almost visually set aside his emotions to be serious and take the safety of the ship first- certainly showing a lesson learned from his and Lee's lack of objectivity.

    Interesting point of trivia: The sweat on Starbuck's brow is real, not sprayed on. Katee Sackhoff has said, at various conventions, that the day they shot that scene, she was down with an over-the-top case of stomach flu. She recalled how they had a bucket set aside for her---every time they yelled "Cut", she would lean over and barf explosively into the bucket. They'd clean her up, reset the scene, and go again.

      It's also a callback to the last episode of the original BSG. Apollo and Starbuck raid and sabotage a Basestar using the Raider they captured Baltar in. @johnmcternan4157 3 года назад +6

      Everybody seems to hate this style now compared to the 00's, yet I never noticed it when I was watching, it's extremely well done. So many series now are "beautifully shot" with the camera locked down with tonnes of negative space and wanky stilted ultimately empty symbolism, and are completely bland and lacking the riveting soul of something like this. This story gets right up close with you in comparison and you live it. Very naturalistic and Michael Mannish. You don't notice the directing until afterwards, which is what good directing IS.
      It's always changing and is never the one thing and the actors are always on, sort of like live theatre. It's alive.

      @michaeldavis29 5 лет назад +1

      @@asvarien "Interval failure" means when aircraft carriers fail to launch planes, and "watch your intervals" means same thing when taking off for pilots at sea. Look up old carrier history when takeoff failures occurred to see what I mean.

    • @lgmmrm
      @lgmmrm 4 года назад

      @@asvarien Essentially, when you launch fighters on an aircraft carrier, there is a maximum interval between fighters launching together.
      An interval failure means that the carrier is incapable of launching the second plane within that time, usually due to a problem with the catapult, in which case the launch is aborted so they don't accidentally destroy an expensive piece of machinery and its pilot.

      Fun little theory. It's quite likely that this Raider she is flying is Scar's original shell. She literally tore him to pieces and cut his brain out (sending him to a resurrection ship).
      Which explains why Scar has such a burning hatred for her, and why Starbuck says "Remember me?" when facing off against Scar

    Great scene from a great episode. But it's always bothered me...how is she not being thrown about the inside of that raider, crushing every organ and bone in her body? She's moving as fast as a viper and maneuvering all over the place, just laying on her stomach with no restraints.

    • @BlokeOnAMotorbike
      @BlokeOnAMotorbike 6 лет назад +15

      she had to crawl in between internal organs. As you're probably aware, nature abhors waste, that includes internal space. All she had to do was rip out the brainstem, which left her enough room to wriggle in.

    • @Daniel1701N
      @Daniel1701N 6 лет назад +8

      @@BlokeOnAMotorbike Jim Moore No, I know how she found her way in, got O2, figured out how to operate it...God knows I've watched the series enough times lol But basic physics insists that she'd be bouncing around like a rag doll moving at mach 4 or 5 speeds without being strapped in like a viper or rapture pilot is when moving at those speeds. If Apollo wasn't strapped in and suited up he'd be bashed to bits in his viper...and she's moving much faster and pulling break neck maneuvers.
