  • In this video, I'm going to walk you through the Helinox Cot One, which is a lightweight, small footprint folding cot. Whether you're using it as a bench to sit around a fire or a bed to sleep on, it's easy to set up and super high quality.
As someone who typically looks at price, is this cot worth $479? Well, watch the full video for all the specs, but let me put it this way. If you're a ground tent camper and you want to prioritize lightweight and long lasting quality without having to replace a less expensive cot that breaks or fails, then this may be a good option for you.
One thing I've learned over the years is that buying the cheapest gear isn't always the cheapest option long term. Again, if you're not a roof top tent sleeper and you want comfort and reliability that doesn't take up a ton of space and will last for a long time, then this may be worth the investment. But, what do you all think? Post up in the comments below with your thoughts!

And here's a similar version that's about $350 if you're looking for a high quality, but more budget minded option: amzn.to/3WkLt5Q

I’ve got the Naturhike version of this cot. A little tip for you, the end with the loop that you insert the main polls through, pull the loops back and you’ll be able to push the main polls in all the way. Then pull the material the loop is attached to over the end of the main polls. This will give you a tighter fit with the main polls and prevent them from sliding out.

Yes this! Also get the leg kit. It takes this cot to the next level. Then you can sit on the cot like a regular bed and put your clothes on and not have to crawl off the cot. I've had this cot with the legs for years and it is a buy once cry once purchase but I've been done crying for a while now.

At that price point I hope it’s made in the USA

even if it’s made in the USA, $479 for a cot is crazy lol

Yeah, it's definitely on the pricey side, haha. I'm not sure that it's made in the USA (most things aren't now a days unfortunately) but it does include a 5 year warranty and I know that Helinox does put a lot of time/money into R&D plus uses some top quality materials in them. All of my Helinox stuff has lasted years longer than the cheaper knockoffs I bought previously, but at some point it does become a question of how many cheaper versions you could buy for the price of the real thing and whether it's worth it to "buy once, cry once." This thing is really nice and super comfy, but it's honestly on the fence for me at this price point. They do have a similar version that's $299 also, but that's still a pretty penny.
