    Hi there!
    Just found these videos thanks to the bgg interview. Very nice series!
    Personally, I usually don't go all in on any strategy, but rather go where the cards take me. One point you haven't brought up yet is my own de facto strategy, which is to go for a medium length game where I buy a lot of cards early, not so much card draw, and then close the game just in time when I run out of cards. It usually works out, and gets me enough points to beat both terraformers (because I get a better engine than they) and engine builders (because they don't have enough time to cash in on their engine. By not investing too much in card draw I save a lot of money for my engine... That said, I don't play many 2-player games, so there's that.
    Looking forward to the rest of this series. Keep it up!
    Cheers!

      Hello thank you so much!
      If you want I will happily give you a copy of the video series or something similair (I could also re-record some content to fit your need) or perhaps a cropped down, sharper version to be uploaded on Isaac Fryxelius youtube channel (or somewhere else where this could be suitable). It's yours if you want it. As I am a big fan of yours and of Fryxgames I would gladly be of service. Just say the word. :)
      If not, perhaps you would consider sharing my strategy guide series on the Fryxgames facebook page? If yes, here is a link to a playlist of the strategy guide series:

      Good point about the medium lenght game strategy. I think you are correct, in a lot of cases there is a short timing windown where you can beat both terraformers and greedy engines. I will make sure to bring this up in the episode called feedback.
      Cheers, your comment made my day :) Happy new year.

    Made a literal recipe for success ^^ You cannot always follow this to the letter. Depends on your cards of course.
    A few corrections:
    Number 1) Vitor is actually legit. I'm willing to upgrade it to S-tier status. I realized during editing that a lot of cards you want to play in hte earlygame actually does have VP on them like Earth Catapult, Earth Elevator, Space Elevator, Electro Catapult, Olympus Conference, Martian Unversity, Rover Construction and Vesta Shipyard to name some of them.
    Number 2) Plant-production should be in the early- to midgame section. Only reason I placed it in the mid- to lategame segment is that I thought it would look prettier if there were 5 points in each segment. Bad call on my part of course to favor prettiness over strategy xD
    Other than this, let me know if I forgot something. Good and bad feedback is always appreciated ^^

    What are floaters? (sorry if I missed the explanation, I don't have any expansions for TM)

    • @BonelessDota
      @BonelessDota  10 месяцев назад +1

      Floaters are a new type of ressource to put on top of your cards like Animals or Microbes. Works the same way pretty much. Floaters was introduced in the Venus Next expansion so you can find a Venus Next review to learn more about Floaters :)

    What is the discord you keep mentioning in this video series? I would love to join a strategy focused discord channel with the addition of the alpha to BGA.

      The discord is hodgepodge. I believe he has a youtube channel so you can ask him there. Pretty sure he don't mind people joining but not 100% sure so go ask him ^^

    Wait, why is keeping Interstellar Colony in your starting hand so bad? 4 VP guaranteed in the last generation is just not enough?
    Along the same lines, would you ever consider keeping predator, birds, fish in your starting hand? If you had the space event that grants 4 animals (among other things), for instance?

    • @BonelessDota
      @BonelessDota  Год назад +1

      Interstellar colony ship is not good enough to keep in the opening hand imo. In most cases I wouldn't animals either. However, exceptions could be made for example if you have fish and soletta it could make sense as you can likely enable fish in the midgame. Large convoy + 1 point animal is a maybe for me ^^ would depend on the hand I think.
      However, I have come around on Kelp Farming, Trees and Lake Marineris. These cards I tend to keep in my opening hand. Especially if you are going for a rush setup. (short game)

    • @arthursimsa9005
      @arthursimsa9005 Год назад +1

      @@BonelessDota ok, then I realise that I was definitely overvaluing VP cards/combos in starting hand. If large convoy + a 1 vp animal card is generally not worth keeping! Interstellar Colony is definitely out then:)
      Isn’t keeping Lake Marineris too much of a gamble? Very often, there are no ocean tiles left when reaching the requirement for that card.

    • @BonelessDota
      @BonelessDota  Год назад

      @@arthursimsa9005 In a lot of cases Large Convoy is a keep so you are not way off.
      Regarding Lake Marineris funny you say this. I had this exact debate with Anthracite on stream in a video coming out tomorrow.
      If you are rushing this card will almost always be playable but if you are not going for heat-prod then it is a gamble like you say. Anthracite would always keep this card in opening whereas I would only keep it if I'm rushing and got Soletta or something.

    • @arthursimsa9005
      @arthursimsa9005 Год назад

      @@BonelessDota what about large convoy then? Would you keep it if it allowed you to place a greenery on gen2? Or only 1? What do you consider acceptable?

    • @BonelessDota
      @BonelessDota  Год назад +1

      @@arthursimsa9005 generally playing Large Convoy in the earlygame is a desperate play and falls under "I got nothing better to do with my M€". If it allows you a conversion it's still only 2 TR for 39 M€. So it's a weak play in the earlygame. Better to use this card later in the game but you might still keep it in opening hand. Depends. ^^

    Sorry i forgot which episode to find this. But what is the value for 1 megacredit (depending on each gen). And also do u say anything about value for all the different productions? How much is 1 plant production worth for instance? For me im all about 3/4 player. I struggle to find the sweetspot between greedy play and TR strat. Any advice? Lastly I want to say thank you, because of you I finally beat my friends in TFM 😁

    • @BonelessDota
      @BonelessDota  9 месяцев назад +1

      Cheers ^^ Well firstly, we kinda measure stuff in value of Megacredits (M€) so cant answer what 1 M€ is worth. If you mean how much is a M€-production worth, then it's worth around 5 M€ in the first generation and declining throughout the game to being worth nothing in the last generation.
      I plan on making an entire video where I detail what everything is worth, but with my current slow pace that likely won't be out until March next yea or something. I talk a little about this in the first video on the playlist (20 tips to help you win) in the very first tip.
      In 3-4 player games, generally TR-strats are a little stronger. So my best advice is to go for heat-prod and raw TR but it's of course still fine to build a little engine in the first few generations. Ultimately you just have to play the hand you've been given :)

      Wow thanks for quick reply! Yes i ment cash production :) also I find it hard to know how many cards to keep every new gen, I guess its about how good ur engine is and what cards u plan to play this / next gen. I often want to keep more than I can afford... what I find challening about the greedy strat is that u end up with so many cards, hard to know what to play in the correct order... also let me put up one scenario for you. Say u dont have any good engine cards, only this card that is a jovian amplifer with +2 cash/titanium(IO mining). So say u pick this. And when u start the round, one of ur enemies have the corporarions that give +1 cash production everytime a jovian tag is played. Would u still play this card or not?

    • @BonelessDota
      @BonelessDota  9 месяцев назад

      @@nilspils5223 Playing IO Mining Industries vs. Saturn Systems does not feel good no. But depends on your hand again. Perhaps you start with a bunch of Titanim from preludes or something. Or perhaps you have no other engine building cards.
      How many cards to keep, here is a good rule of thumb. If you have a huge engine you want to keep more cards. If you are rushing and have a smaller engine you whould keep fewer cards.
      And if you have lots of card-draw but not a great engine you also keep fewer cards in the research phase as you will get cards to play from your card-draw cards. But of course depends on the cards. Some cards are just too good not to keep.
