I'd like to say I can write as well and learned a lot from him, he was one of my very early inspirations. If anyone is looking for a bass player willing to give it a shot, let me know!
Chad's high screams are some of the best screams I have ever heard in metal. I listen to lots of deathcore and metalcore and stuff like that, and Chad's highs just stand out. I miss Mudvayne so much
cuz a lot of the screaming nowadays is done so carefully as there's all these "correct" ways to scream without damaging your vocal chords... i've only see the whole blowing your voice out thing happen with singers who don't rely on a safe technique, and that would include chad gray from this era. he was not doing it in a controlled manner, he literally destroyed his voice for L.D.50 and you could hear it in the long term.
i probably come off as "i don't like his screaming" but holy fuck if i had to say chad gray from l.d.50 era and corey taylor from the self-titled era i think have topped what cannot be topped ever, and are my all time favorite metal singers along with dax riggs and mike ix

Had this concert on dvd - was absolutely mesmerizing and powerful in a way few things are. I would crank my system so loud my neighbors (I lived in a house with space between homes) would politely complain to me. Really, my house shook. It was fucking awesome. Very cathartic. I miss those days.
I lived it. Summer Sanitarium. First concert ever at Seahawks Stadium aka The Clink. The entire city heard that concert. The entire line-up kicked ass. Big whoop, wanna fight about it lol
They were/are nu metal, but these guys were one of the very few who were actually deep and complex. Most everyone else was top 40, studio radio friendly stuff that just kept repeating the same 3 sentences with cheap generic beats. Mudvayne was on a whole another level!
I feel like I will be like my old man one day. Saying "they dont make music these days like they used to." These boys brought it good and hard, Pioneers of the sound. holy cow, I cant get enough!!!

I was there, man. And you are or wrong. Summer Sanitarium Tour @ Seahawk Stadium. Ft. DEFTONES, MUDVAYNE, LIMP BIZKIT, LINKIN PARK, & METALLICA. It was so loud, the entire city heard it.
I wish the next era in metal would hurry the fuck up and get here..I miss those times when every new song was anticipated, new album listened to over and over and over..things are pretty stale at the moment
Yeah, that'll never happen again bro. Everything is just being recycled, someone needs to come out and actually innovate. Seems like technical talent is growing but creative talent is dying.
Everybody is tuning down to Drop B and sounding the same with the vocals and breakdowns - and if it isn’t that then it’s technical sweep nerds like ^ this guy mentioned. WE NEED THAT GROOVE AND BELTED OUT VOCALS AGAIN
Vildhjarta is king of anticipation imo and have a unique sound, if anythign Vildhajrta/Humanity's Last Breath have taken over this feeling for me and have delivered. Might be something you want to check out.

It’s funny to see Matt with hair. If you watch the making of their music video for Dig, he explains how he wants long hair because he thinks he’s not sexy. Just shows he went through with it with the coming of their second album. Lol
@@adelineinactivity yeah the making of digs music vid was done a year previously so i think he actually meant it when he said he wanted to grow out his hair

Matt is one of the most underrated metal drummers ever plain and simple!
Yea I wonder what ever happened to him..fucker was one of the best

One of the most underrated drummers period. Not just in metal.
Ryan Martine Is Also An Underrated Bassist
I still to this day cant believe more bands didn't adopt a Ryan like bassist. He adds so much depth to songs
And he adds so much energy !! Most underrated bassist !!
Do you know how hard it is to find a bass player like that who will join a metal band? Especially back then.
I'd like to say I can write as well and learned a lot from him, he was one of my very early inspirations. If anyone is looking for a bass player willing to give it a shot, let me know!

Chad's voice in the early to mid 2000s was fucking epic. Unreal
greg does a nice job too at backup vocals
They were in their prime back then

Just saw them in Denver and this is fucking haunting in comparison. For obvious reasons...can't fault him for aging haha.

LD .50 , a true work of a bands undying drive to make metal. Forever top 10 in my book.
My buddy seen Mudvayne in 2002 at a festival, he said they were the loudest band there.
