We were late to the party & finally watched Orphan (2009)! It was even crazier than we expected!

I think First Kill rises above this one. I like this one but, Good golly miss molly, the prequel goes places I was NOT expecting. Julia Stiles is phenomenal! So is the kid who plays her son.

I'm being serious, Vera Farmiga was amazing in this with her emotional depth, but it was also Isabelle Furhman (Esther) who stole the show, she deserves more bigger roles in movies (especially lead roles). That ending twist had caught me by complete surprise.
I absolutely agree. Her being only 12 years old in the first film is actually insane. Very underrated as a child actor and now as an adult as well.
This movie was freaky! The ending threw me. My first video of yours, i don't watch a ton of horror movies, it takes a lot for one to impress me, but I'll keep an eye on your stuff!

I just started watching this reaction (and just found your channel) but I wanted to say that the woman around 2:25 is (I'm pretty sure this is her whole name) Esteemed Character Actress Margo Martindale. She's wonderful and featured in quite a number of things, as you might expect. I know her from Bojack Horseman. It's an animated TV series that's my fourth favorite TV series of all time. It's not horror, and it looks weird, but it's the best exploration of mental health I've ever seen in a/v media, so I recommend it to everyone who opens the door even slightly.
I don't even know if you're interested in reacting to series, but my favorite horror shows are Midnight Mass, Haunting of Hill House (and Bly Manor, which deserves more love), Fall of the House of Usher, and Lovecraft Country. My favorite horror movies (for watching reactions, not overall) are Ready or Not, the Scream franchise, X, Pearl, and 47 Meters Down.
I have been wanting to check out Bojack Horseman! I had no idea she's a voice on the show, that's awesome. & I really enjoy Mike Flannigan's work. The only series we haven't watched yet is Fall of the House of Usher so I have debated starting that on the channel soon! Thank you for your recs, they are all great films :)
& I completely agree that Bly Manor is underrated

The acting in Bly Manor is flawless, those children especially. The only one I haven't watched all the way through yet is The Midnight Club. I heard it was a cliffhanger ending because he was under the strong impression there would be a S2, and I hate getting caught up in something incomplete. (Even though that's what I already did by watching part of it...)
Midnight Mass is my favorite- Robert Longstreet is brilliant in everything, but the way he inhabited Joe was incredible. It's definitely my favorite limited series of all time.
I hope you do react to Fall of Usher on the channel! Especially if you are fans of Poe, but it's a great watch either way.
What's your favorite/least favorite sub-genre of horror? I should at least check out what movies you've reacted to before I recommend anything. I will be doing that when I go through your back catalog later. Please, if you think of it, let me know if you are watching Bojack and how much/little you like it. It's kind of a lot. I think it keeps getting better from season to season. Obviously don't go out of your way, you can do what you want (tone: sincere)!

@@HighlyHorrifiedReactions he refused to listen to his wife’s suspicions and he didn’t even take what she was saying into consideration. he kept making excuses for esther and he kept riding for her when he barely even knew her. even the nun who came over to the house warned him that bad things always occur whenever esther is around and yet he still assumed she was a perfect little angel ughh

I remember when I first saw this film, when I thought it was really original and intriguing, and then I found out about the true crime case about the little girl who had tricked a Norwegian family into adopting her when she was really in her 30’s but she pretended to be a little boy and then when they found out she tried to exploit them for lots of money. ruclips.net/video/Hu13DwuahrM/видео.htmlsi=FLFMRaHwY7-rbasP

@@HighlyHorrifiedReactions it makes the film feel a lot more creepier once you find out it’s based on a true story for sure.
there was another case in indiana where these parents adopted a Ukranian girl from a russian orphanage that had disabilities similar to what esther had and they were hella abusive. then they saw this movie and used it as an idea to somehow legally age up the 9 year old to 22 and accuse her of flirting with other people's husbands and say she was very violent. there's a netflix documentary about the whole case but i hear from other sources it's kind of in bad faith because the filmmakers care more about their ratings than telling the girl's story. but at least she was able to come forth and tell what really happened along with some other folks that could back her story up. the mom that orchestrated the whole thing and abused the girl is in prison now.
