I first visited Glasgow about 30 years ago having lived in a small town on the River Forth - all i knew about Glasgow was what id read in the papers and seen on telly - it was weird - form the first time i stepped foot in the place it felt like coming home - i moved to Glasgow shortly thereafter and have been here ever since - i always wondered about that sense of belonging then i had some research done and discovered back in the late 1800s my dads side of the family had all lived in Glasgow at 135 Stobcross street - my great great great grannie died at 159 Shamrock street and the very last name on the list was her son who had exactly the same first and surname as me - he lived at Parliamentary road - so if your from Glasgow and your last name is Ferguson we might be related from the same g.g.g. grannie

Hi Kenny, we are at the age when we reflect on the past and how great things 'used to be', what we all forget is for today's kids, 2015 is going to be the best years of Glasgow! ha ha I am enjoying your rendition of Rod Stewart's classic. Well done buddy. Thumbs up

I loved watching this video it reminded me of the old good days. They were good because people knew their neighbor and nhad genuine friends, I also liked the song and music.

***** Cheers EM....unfortunately the neighbourly thing isn't what it used to be.......a great shame in my opinion.....it's what bound us together back then. -Kenny

My mum said that although they lived in slums, they kept those slums spotless (inside).
She said a big 'no no' in Glasgow was dirty windows, even if you were a bit laxed with cleaning indoors, it was virtually compulsory to keep the windows clean.
So you could imagine her horror when she first landed in Australia, & all the windows appeared filthy. She thought: "These people are savages ! !"
But she found out later that they only look filthy from a bit of a distance, because in Australia you needed flyscreens.

I loved the photo of the beautiful flats on Pollok Street, Tradeston.
It’s so sad they pulled them down to build a scabby industrial estate.
