I seriously don't understand why Jimmy Fallon gets so much hate. I don't find him to be particularly funny all the time, but he is clearly very talented and seems like a very nice fella. Maybe I'm missing something.
The truly magical aspect of Stand-up comedy and the FEW geniuses like Jimmy is this subtle split from performing an act to acting along with the performance! Someone like Jimmy is a rare person who can go to work (in a funny mood), do a performance and pull off EPIC/GENUINE funny moments that crack himself up regardless of how it effects a crowd! That's the simple and almost unreachable recipe for epic'Ness! Dream of trying Stand-up, wait till your in a perfect, weird mood with humorous undertows and get your ass to the nearest laugh factory, some shaky attempts and a few vomits later, you might emerge one of the few, one of the blessed, one more co-giggle-creator along-side the All Mighty, a mentor for a sickened world, our new funny big brother like Jimmy Fallon! Thanks for all the unexpected gut laughs Jimmy!

The feeling is actually addictive.. My guess is that it's like asking out women :) And when you get "rejected" that feels very much llike being rejected by the audience when they're not laughing :(

I'm looking into learning the art o comedy, just for fun! I've always wondered how comedians come up with their hilarity.
I wouldn't think that wanting to have heckling going on would be something a person would have going on. I don't normally see that as desired. I would imagine just about everyone is not for that for that. Who wouldn't want to just have an easy process of building comedic skills and then living in such a way that they are a solid comic doing things that are in line with a solid comic? I wouldn't imagine just more and more obstacles would be a sought thing by a person in any case. lol I can't say I have a perfect model of success. I don't have the flawless path to getting things done. I have a bad sense of direction. I go the wrong way at times. I am not always in line with accomplishing a goal. There are times when I am not on the path of the thing I seek. I turn this way and that. I experiment. At some point I'll get where I'm going. I may be a whole lot more heavy in the experimenting category than in other categories out there but that accomplishment is on the horizon. It is just going to take time. And I will experiment as the time transpires. It is going to be an experimentation frenzy. lol I can live with that.
I just did my first stand up/open-mic last night and I did pretty good. There was really only one joke that bombed, but the rest of great.
