Loved it! Why oh why didn't the showrunners of GoT hire people like you to write the final season... Maybe the purification of the vagrant is related to her outlaw status?
Hahaha thank you! It may have something to do with things like mass market appeal and the out-of-control ego risk that comes with world wide success when it comes to GoT and less with writing ability. My little niche allows me to narrate somewhat more freely, I'm sure. I like the association with the outlaw status. I'm thinking about here as a member of a nomad tribe, so maybe it's about the vagrant status of her people? She requests some kind of sanctuary for the Chalidim, perhaps political guarantees, writs of passage, a formal allocation of land so they are taken seriously as a political entity and enjoy more protection? That could work!
Ouh maybe! Pretty good base to explain why she is the way she is. Might be a good point of conflict for Hjalmar to engage with, too, if she reveals it by asking for a curse related reward and the request can’t actually be granted but now the scheming half brother knows. I like it!
Absolutely! A few episodes ago it occurred to me that the answer to the question of who the “dying species” is that populates this last city we’re provided with in the game’s rudimentary setting might be the Deep Ones. That sparked it, then Dagon got thrown in the mix as the local deity and the details are all Innsmouth!
There’s some basic oracles and solo rules in the appendix of the edition I’m using (the “Ultimate Chaos” edition by the Merry Mushmen). It’s fairly basic but works completely fine since the system is already very player facing. I’ve not used any other solo tools in this series so far outside of a book to generate some names.
Anyone have an idea how this works? Herbalist says in order to replenish ability you need to take a long rest in "a natural environment" but long rests state " must be in a safe or civilized environment" long rests in the wild count as a short rest . So am Im I forced to take the wilding origin to properly take advantage of herbalist orgin . Thanks again !
Huh. Interesting. I mean it says safe OR civilized so presumably there are natural environments that are safe? Thinking of things like hidden glens, druid groves, serene clearings, a remote island in the middle of a lake, that kind of thing maybe? But it definitely seems to synergize pretty well with wildling then!
What about this as purification and vagrant: Rebirth as a "Vagrant" Seer After defeating the leviathan, the hero could want to undergo a ritual that strips them of their past identity and redefines them as a "vagrant" mystic-a wandering figure who can read omens or predict events related to the sea, monsters, or fate. This transformation would not only "purify" them of their past but also grant a new role as an oracle, giving them cryptic visions or the ability to sense hidden dangers. This ability could make them valuable to the group, even if they cannot wield physical power as the others do.
Starting work on the next episode now - I'm thinking about this and it's an interesting take on the prompt, but in the Oksana/Genaha dynamic I'm leaning towards making Oksana the transforming one while Genaha is maybe the more stable "foil". If both undergo drastic changes almost at the same time it may be a bit much. There also isn't much of a narrative setup for it thus far so it'd come a bit too much out of the blue.
Keep on going!
does that shirt really say dungeon synth ? hahaha awesome
Yeah! And it's got a rat playing a keyboard so I naturally had no choice but to buy it!
Killer find@@killtenratsrpg
Heck yeah, it's so good to have you back, mate! ❤
Awesome, waited so long. Glad you made it
Love the series 🎉

Maybe Gennaha had a curse this whole time? It's obvious, but it gives a lot of hooks back to the starting prompt.

Is this story inspired by hp lovecraft shadow over innsmouth?

@killtenratsrpg haha that makes me happy. It is one of my favorite stories after all. Keep up the good work I love this channel by the way
Does the black sword hack have solo rules or are you using another solo GM emulator?

@@killtenratsrpg that's really good to know that you can solo it with just a few additional rules.
