My 2002 RAV4 struts are squeeking when going over speed bumps ... my mechanic quoted me up to $1K to replace them but not necessary to do so yet ... admire you guys that have all the tools and a lift to get it done for not so much!
Rust Belt Auto ... fortunately I have an excellent mechanic who does not charge me for the moon, sun & stars too .... and declared the squeek (only over speed bumps now) a non-essential issue, which is a good thing, given I am on PUA umemployment
Is it necessary to replace the shock absorbers in the front axle together even if the other is in good condition? Knowing that the car has covered 100,000 miles
@@RustBeltAuto Thanks pal! I think Simplicity makes a pretty good product. I can't get over how nice the Hydrostatic trans is on it! Do you have much grass to cut?
Good advice about the coil springs. I'd imagine if something were to go wrong you could take it to the face pretty hard... Maybe even bust out some Summer teeth! Some quality commentary here bud. "Never use an impact because you're you" Dude, you could have so many custom t-shirt ideas... Are you a decent artist? OKAY BYE!
Thanks my friend! I appreciate the walk thru. Getting my 16 yr old on the road with an 02 RAV4 here in NE Ohio. Happy new year!
I love the “never use an impact” comment.
Very much appreciate you taking the time to make a video on this task for us 👍

It's usually a bushing, or ball joint.

From my experience it is rubber bushing on rear shocks. Take it off and give it silicone grease. Squake will be gone for years.
Hey man i see lots of youtube mechanics and you definitely are different. Lol love to watch ya man learn alot also
This guy gives usefull information without selling any bullshit .
You create great videos. keep them coming. thanks

You should
Is it a 30 mm 12 point on the axle nut or bigger?
I should have said what it is. I cannot remember.
Cousin rap 5 interchange struts and stuff I got brand new trucks for 2005 will they interchange with 2001
2005 Toyota Rav4 interchange shocks and struts that with a 2001 cuz I got parts for a 2005 brand new I wonder if I can put them on a 2001
@Ricky Matherne ebay says 2001-2005 front struts are the same
I came for the shocks, then I got a Polish sausage stuck in my aorta - Da Bears
