So glad to give you an idea, I love it. Definitely worth getting the better quality hole punch in my opinion. Thank you for subscribing love to have fellow 🇨🇦 on the channel. Have a blessed day.
You're a genius! I'm a Happy Planner user and have the punch, extra rings, clear acetate cover sheets, tabs from previous planners, and more. You've inspired me to gather all my stuff and re-purpose it for my coloring books and swatch sheets. Thank you so much for sharing!! ❤❤
I just have to express my gratitude for such a well made video! I was so discouraged with pages coming out of my books…& then I found this video! I’ve just disc bound my first coloring book & put the video on my channel today. I especially appreciated hearing the benefits of this method, which helped me decide! So a very big thank you from me! ❤❤❤
This video is SO helpful!!!! I too am tired of tryinig to squeeze pencils and background mediums into the binding and also am tired of maneuvering a fully extended book. I find it so much easier to color a book that can be folded in half - makes for a much more pleasant coloring experience. Thank you so much for sharing this!!! ❤
Thank you for a most wonderful and organized explanation of your coloring book punch system! I've waffled around the decision to separate and punch my books, but you've certainly inspired me with all the reasons I absolutely love! Are you a teacher? I appreciate you! 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽💥💥💥
This is brilliant thank you! I was getting upset with my books falling apart. I have never heard of this kind of binding! 🇨🇦hello from Canada! Glad to know I can find at Staples.
Warm greetings to a fellow 🇨🇦 Colourist! Disc binding would definitely be an option for a book that is currently in pieces. Test punching a few pages first before doing your book to make sure your happy with disc placement. Staples online is available too if your local one does not have the Arc punch.
Awesome! I did took some Amazon colouring books apart for easier colouring, but just put them in a folded A3 sheet, which makes them hard to flip through. So I might try this one out. Thx for sharing!
Thanks for sharing all this info. I really like this idea of binding coloring books this way. Your explanation is thorough and informative. So clear and concise.
I love the idea of removing and putting your pages back in. I see you are in Canada. I am also in Canada in the summer only, in winter in Florida. I find that everything related to coloring is super expensive in Canada. What a smart woman you are, I love your swatch book! Where in Canada are you, I am in Quebec, just out in the country not far from Montreal, where I was born actually.
Hi, I live in Alberta bit have a second home in Las Vegas where I prefer to spend some of Canada’s cold winter LOL. Yes art supplies are expensive unless I find a sale. I purchase some items when I am in the USA for sure. Glad to have a fellow 🇨🇦 colourist in the group.
So glad I found your video!!! Great information!! And the recommendation I ordered the Arc as I was watching your video. You have done beautiful work! Thank you again-I love this idea & look forward to future videos.
MY MOUTH IS AJAR!!!!! Holy crap this is brilliant !!!!! Thank you SOOOOO MUXH FOR THIS!!!!! Omg I’m excited to do this!!! I have so many unused sets of plastic HP discs (bc I use the metal ones) and a punch.
I was a dozen pages from completing Ivy and the Inky Butterfly, when my book imploded and every page fell out. I now take my 'important' books to the printer and they cirlox and bind them with a clear ring of the right size, and clear covers front and back to protect the lovely artistic covers (apx $7 Cdn). I also have days when I have to lie down, so I pop the part of the book I'm not coloring into a protective cloth bag, fold it tidily, and flip the book over. This way I am dealing only with the page I'm coloring, and the whole book is protected. Also useful if you spend a lot of time outdoors coloring. I have several books that I only color a few pages in and with your method, those pages could be put into a completed book of their own and not forgotten. Aren't we a queer breed that get excited over a swatch book. Yours is lovely, by the way. I'm in Alberta; where are you?
Wow I’m so impressed this is a fabulous tutorial, but that aside your colouring is stunning , I’ve only just got into colouring this year, I have 6 books I got from Amazon I’m reasonably happy with them for staring off, I have just today got 3 of Johanna Basford books I have coloured a page today in the small victories book and the paper is so much better, I just thought paper is paper ha ha but now I know it’s not, I have checked out your channel and I love it will work my way through all of them, you have a new subscriber here I’m so impressed ( I just wish you lived next door to me you could teach me so much🤍 thanks so much I really appreciate you lots of love from me to you 🥰
Been looking for a way to do this easily. And wondering if I was the only one who would want to do this! Lol.💗👍👍👍 I love this, Thankyou for sharing your time and talent.
I have a generic happy planner hole punch, ive had trouble with my paper staying in the rings, however i do have a spiral bind machine that i might do instead, I may not can take in and out but at least it will lay flat!
I was not happy with the Happy Planner punch either. The Arc punch holes are slightly different. Spiral is nice for laying flat for sure. Thanks for the feedback.
I've been thinking on this a while now (9 months by my last comment!) and finally put some tools on my wish list. I can't afford the hole punch you showed (or indeed, any mushroom punch) but I got stuff that should work. Thanks again for the idea!
Great idea! I didn’t know there was a punch that could take that many sheets. I have seen that happy planner punch and wasn’t sure if it would go thru some mixed media paper I have. You have answered all of my questions! Thanks for sharing!
For unbinding a "perfect bound" aka glued book. Use heat. I use my heat gun on low but a blow dryer works well. Especially if the pages are a bit thicker. Also for a punch i use the punch dile mushroom shape. Since i punch along the top. But usually the top of the page has more room and doesnt intrude on the picture of the page
@@jicolourist for thicker books it does take some patience but it also gives you more of an edge to work with. On some books you do need to add a bit of washi tape to the edge of the covers cause the glue tends to stick there the most.
Hi, I've never seen this type of binding before so this was really interesting to me here in the UK. Not sure if its something we can get, but does look like a great system. Going doing some research now. thanks for sharing 👍
I do not bind my coloring books but I do use a disc bound system for my Colouring journal and my swatches. For my Colouring journal, it allows me to put my books in alphabet order as I receive them and I bind it at the top because I’m left handed :) I do hate when I can’t color to the very edge of the page, but the holes in my pictures would drive me batty I think!
I do this to all of my Bible studies. I never thought to do this with my coloring books! I have the Levenger Heavy-Duty Duty Punch. It punches a bit longer than the ARC but not as Ling as the Happy Planner 360 punch. Think you for sharing this brilliant idea!

Hi, the printer only cuts off just the spine, so that plus a bit from the holes, so maybe quarter inch on both sides. It only effects on double page spreads and not enough to notice. I would give that up instead of fighting to colour into the spine.
@@jicolourist Thanks for the answer. Yes, I agree. Worth it not to have to color in the cracks.
