- HERE WE AAAARE!!! I actually started planning this before I finished the series! Of course, I changed up the script once I DID finish, but I was relistening to this song and went...MAN, THIS SOUNDS LIKE AND FITS ZUKO! So after I checked to see if anyone's already done it, here we are!
This was EXTREMELY fun to work on, and Zuko as a character hit me particularly hard. I already feel insane talking and thinking about him- I can't imagine how buckwild 16 year old me would've gone. Even though Avatar was a huge part of my childhood, I remembered little to nothing while watching it, so I considered it to be my first time, and it was a BLAST!
I really hope you all enjoy this animatic! I had so much fun doing it!

I love how your addition of pronounced canines in his design makes him look just that more unhinged, almost feral-like. Very fitting for our local deals-with-everything-by-suppressing-it-until-it-comes-blasting-out-with-rage-and-literal-fire boy!

I usually am not the type to comment on videos but holy fuck.oh my god this is insane as a number 1 zuko fan you portrayed him SO well. The nightmares, the sharp canines that show a loss of empathy and acceptance of rage due to empathy causing him to be smited, his rage towards his father, just. Everything. That one shot where he confronts ozai and it shows both the scarred and un scarred part of his face too hello??don’t get me STARTED on the fucking. Lightning sequence I just.everytihg about this is so tasty oh my god
THANK YOYUUUUUUUU AUUAWUAUWHAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! this project was extremely personal to me, abuse victims who aren't good at regulating their emotions and have been manipulated into poor world views deserve so much care and patience and Zuko was a prime example of that. I like him :) I'm glad you enjoyed this and the analysis you gave rules! :D

the small detail of how he was spitting sparks I loved in general. a bit like a firework of emtions finally going off as he realizes part of the core route of all of his rage (ozai) at 3:10 does that make sense probably not but like. godge. the lightning being redirected and at the end of the lightning sequence hitting him showing all of his self sabatoge, how the whole series he was trying to get back to a home that hurt him I ueeee…/pos
