Well cobba's I'm impressed and remember Ozzie was using a 9X Scope at 1067 yards,,incredible, what a great 2 part weapons system Ozzie and a Lithgow 308 at 1067 yards...fair dinkum any Aussie should be proud..Cheers.
You've made me subscribe to my first ever RUclips channel after years of RUclips mate, thanks so much for what you do, your a legend with honest and knowledgable reviews!
That's a sin to wish that on a guy Jaso Ar15, he'd never get to go shooting and do these reviews. Now don't you think THAT would be a real 'bummer' ? Hahaha.
Great review. Saw these rifles at the Sydney shot show recently and was really impressed with the trigger and the bolt action . Have a t3 for the last couple of years, but if I was looking for a new rifle, I would probably get a Lithgow. Thanks
Yeah it does look like that... I think it was more of my suspicions about the rifle being accurate (going off my LA101 22 and 22mag) being true and getting on target at that range...
haha yes, I knew that by using that it'd get some attention but I always talk about how I don't like massive optics on my rifles. People argue that you need large magnification to shoot long distance, which I don't always agree with... apart from getting an optic with enough elevation, why has the USMC used fixed 10x power optics on their 308 rifles for many years then? It proves it in this review, that you can do it with a lower powered optic, sure the 25x power optics are great, but what if you want a rifle for hunting as well? You're not going to lug around a rifle or be able to shoot a rifle off-hand with a ridiculously big optic on top... So a 3-9x40 is ample enough to have on a hunting rifle and shoot out to 600+ yards with enough elevation, which means you don't need to pay 1000s on a 25x power scope. Just my personal view on it...
I agree, it gives me great pride to own quality Australian-made firearms and knowing that you are supporting 130 odd local job in Lithgow, right hear in Australia!
Once they expand the calibers I'll happily have a safe full of these awesome pieces of Australian engineering. I'm thinking 223, 6.5x55 or 260 and a 300 winmag. You have got to love an Australian product. Thanks for the review Ozzie, outstanding, as always.
Thanks mate, I try to cover off on the desktop technical stuff which a lot of people like but then cover off on the practical use of it too which covers pretty much everything people want to know (groups, ammo etc).
Thanks Ozzie. Super impressed with this rifle. I will definitely go one of these in 308 when i'm ready. Good to see outback ammo works well. The 223 outback ammo is half price of hornady v-max and just as good in my rifle.
It just makes sense to start producing ammo here cos that way it keeps the costs down as you say... and when it shoots just as good as ammo twice the price, it's a massive bonus!
Great review Ozzie, been hanging out for this one. You just helped me finish my Christmas wish list. So glad to see Lithgow Arms putting out such quality products.
i think you hit the nail on the head with you last comment, lithgow should look at supplying a modular chassis system for the 102 GC precision out of the ACT do a nice job . maybe a heavy barrel version and a 20 moa pic rail would be nice long range varminting is a growing sport with lots of $$$$ in it. thanks for the vids mate.
Sure Mathew, I agree, why not expand so that people get right into tricking out their Lithgow? It creates a club of enthusiast owners and generates so much interest in the market - it's just plain cool at the end of the day :)
Great review - I just got one of these also. Haven't gotten to stretch it out yet - but at the indoor range its bullets in the same hole! Update: Did an ammo test (similar to what you've done here but at 50m indoor range) and found Hornady the most accurate by far. I was getting 3 bullets in the same hole (had to look closely to be sure I hadn't missed the target all together). Have found that the barrel hates heat tho, quickly goes from
You seemed to be sold on the rifle before you even shot it (on film), but the results speak for themselves. Impressive hold over shooting and the grin said it all.
+ozziereviews will be. its something i can learn with and i would never buy a gun with no recoil. also to keep our farm and land safe from foxes & rabbits. do you have a Facebook page??
Great Review of the .308!! I'm looking to purchase my first rifle shortly. Primarily target shooting with a small amount of hunting on the side and very keen to buy something Australian Made! I am looking forward to your review on the LA102 in .223.
Thanks for your thoughts on the Trijicon and types of reticle, also looking at a Swarvoski Z3 4-12 x 50 with the ballistic turret, HMM to many choices. PTA approved. Good feeling to be able to support Australian Jobs. Cheers
Did enjoy your review, and have actually bought a black on black .308, just waiting on the LRD to issue the Permit to Acquire, buying Aussie all the way, !!👍👍👍👍
Well my rifle permit to acquire came and I have it now, unfortunately the stage 3 then stage 4 restrictions shut the rifle ranges, I know you did this review 3 years ago, but it’s like you did it yesterday, one thing I would’ve like to have seen was a thumb hole stock and adjustable cheek pad similar to the SAKO S20, but plenty happy with my rifle so far. Mounted an Aussie ZeroTech Thrive HD 6-24 x 50 PHR II scope Reloading in lock down so loading up some Sierra Game kings 165gr for a ladder test, to what suits, and maybe some rounds with Trail Boss for grins!! Thanks for the review and if I can’t get a load that suits, I will get me some Aussie Outback
Got mine for Christmas has nikkon 4-12x40 scope very very happy even stock gives good cheek support on aiming nice design. Looks great with bipod and 10 round mag. Looking for M14 muzzle break. They do not give the extra spacer anymore. Just the two already in the gun.
The "Australian Made" badging seems a little less gawdy on the black version. Also I love the 3 position safety on a 3 lug bolt, 2 uncommon yet desirable features on a rifle. And THOSE GROUPS!!!
So torn between one of these and a T3x CTR in 308. Living in the UK so no brand loyalty but the Tikka is a far more common sight here. Really cant decide.
Looks like an awesome rifle, especially in a walnut stock. I wish they produced a magnum version though; a 338 WM with this sort of accuracy and build quality would be perfect for some of the big critters up north
Haha looking pretty chuffed when you got the hit. They have the black on black version in 308 at QSS in Ipswich. definitely the way to go I reckon aswell.
Great Review Ozzie, If I didn't have my Howa1500 in 308 I would of bought one, I did buy the LA101 & bloody accurate, only drama is it fails to feel the last round & cocks it sideways (5 rnd Mag). I am proud to say I support Australian made gun & company.
Yeah it is a feeling of pride to own one that's for sure... I've got a CZ 455 10-round mag for my LA101 that I have to try... maybe you should look at getting another mag or send that one back or something, if it's not feeding correctly there is obviously an issue that needs to be fixed...
Ok Ozzie contacted Lithgow, it appears to be a follower problem in the Magazine. Have included a link to website with a fix from Lithgow that can be done at Home.... www.lithgowarms.com/frequently-asked-questions/#q32 Ozzie perhaps you could include this in your original video of the LA101? Cheers
Just got the 223. Top quality rifle. When you do a review on the 223 can you add more infomation on the adjustable trigger. Im thinking it is a gunsmiths job. Doesnt say much in the manual. Im using the leupold vx3 3.5x10-40mm scope. Osa ammo. Sierra 55g gamekings. As i said top quality rifle. Every bit as good and in my opinion better than tikka. Aussie made. Thats enough for me.
Hi Ozzie I have the Lithgow LR and wow it groups spot on and I was really going to get the 6.5 but have been in two minds until this review as just don’t want to use it at the range and I want it to use it out on field as well if I was going to put a scope on it what do you suggest as I have always liked more light and have been looking at Zeiss Scopes and have a Swarovski 2.5-10x56 on my Sako and a Zeiss 3-12x50 on my Hmr 17 Just want your view please as LITHGOW NOW HAVE MY SUPPORT CHEERS
hey ozzie been hanging for the review thank you. I love me .22 lr lithgow are they making the 308 as well for us left-handers? Like always great review, love you channel.
Thankyou for another great review Ozzie! If you could only have either the LA102 or the Ruger Precision in 308 which one would you have? They both look like amazing 308 rifles!
Well that would depend on what my use for the rifle would be. I'd go for the Lithgow as I could at least walk around hunting with it where you're not going to be doing that with the Ruger due to it's weight. If I was only shooting on a range, I'd go the Ruger.
mate great shooting, just one thing, i believe you pulled a couple of those shots, to get a hole shot and then have a round go way off to the right and high is a pulled shot or maybe its the ammo, plus cold barrel shots tend to go off a little as well?
Is their any chance that you might be doing a review on the Lithgow la102 in 223. I am considering getting one as my first centre fire and would value your opinion.
Thanks for the review, would you consider this rifle as a walk um up sambar rifle, weight wise? Or is it more a target rifle? Really want to buy Aussie made!
G'day mate how's thing's?. I've got a question for you. My brand new .308 Lithgow is spot on at 100m but I'm finding it very difficult to zero it at 200m(like I'm not even hitting the target🤷♂️) I've got the Leupold vx freedom 4-12×50, how do you recommend I go about zeroing it? Ps.... I'm using federal 150grn.
Wow that's the big call Ben, but I have to be honest, I sat here thinking to myself what I would off-load to have more lithgows... The facts they shoot so well with the Australian-made ammo too, just makes it an economical package overall...
+ozziereviews it's more or less a safe queen that I'm reluctant to take out. Would rather something more hardy and the surplus coin could mean another in the safe. The Lithgow HMR gets here today.
well done i enjoy all your videos. looking at getting a 308 to shot at some distances, and possibly join a long range shooting club. was set on a tikka, but after watching your video on the lithgow I was impressed. do you think the lithgow can hold its own against the remingtons and the tikka? ?
If you had asked me before I did the review, I'd be sceptical, but seriously it easily competes with the Tikka and Remington in my view. I mean how accurate can you possible get with factory ammo? I can't shoot any better in the conditions than what I did on this review, so I'd love to see what could be done with match hand loads on a still day!
Hey Ozzie, Awesome video as always, your channel is so informative, your Ruger American 22lr review prompted me to buy one in compact, shoots awesome with Eley subs. I understand the 102 in 223 review is on the cards but any chance of combining it with the 243? I'm looking at both calibers for my first centre fire but leaning towards the 243 for larger game (pig) capabilities. Keep up the good work JS
Ozzie, I forgot to say this years ago. It was after watching this video i ended up buying LA102 in 308. Thanks ozzie, you're a legend.
Ive watched this review 3 times I was sold on it the first time. Great review . Thanks bud
Well cobba's I'm impressed and remember Ozzie was using a 9X Scope at 1067 yards,,incredible, what a great 2 part weapons system Ozzie and a Lithgow 308 at 1067 yards...fair dinkum any Aussie should be proud..Cheers.
Thanks mate, I appreciate that
If I buy another rifle, it will definitely be the Aussie made Lithgow. Great review. And long range demonstration.
You've made me subscribe to my first ever RUclips channel after years of RUclips mate, thanks so much for what you do, your a legend with honest and knowledgable reviews!
Ozzie is such a legend and a nice bloke also
Thanks mate :)
OZZIE for Prime Minister!
I wouldn't go that far ;)
That's a sin to wish that on a guy Jaso Ar15, he'd never get to go shooting and do these reviews. Now don't you think THAT would be a real 'bummer' ?
Hahaha.
Hmmm reviews in my lunch break at parliament house hmmmm could be fun? ;)
Great review. Saw these rifles at the Sydney shot show recently and was really impressed with the trigger and the bolt action . Have a t3 for the last couple of years, but if I was looking for a new rifle, I would probably get a Lithgow. Thanks
Thanks mate, I appreciate you watching
Cheeky little grin on the first 1000 yard hit.
A few people have said that now, I'll have to take another look ;)
I don't think it's cheeky,it's more like , I told you so guys
Yeah it does look like that... I think it was more of my suspicions about the rifle being accurate (going off my LA101 22 and 22mag) being true and getting on target at that range...
Thanks yet again, Ozzie. Love the reviews & the long range shooting with a 3-9 optic too!!!
haha yes, I knew that by using that it'd get some attention but I always talk about how I don't like massive optics on my rifles. People argue that you need large magnification to shoot long distance, which I don't always agree with... apart from getting an optic with enough elevation, why has the USMC used fixed 10x power optics on their 308 rifles for many years then? love your work Ozzie. pumped to see this review
Man I am pumped to bring it to you guys!!! :)
Thanks for a great review Ozzie, love your honest up front, no nonsense breakdown on products.
Yesss really thinking of getting one, must support Lithgow :D
I agree, it gives me great pride to own quality Australian-made firearms and knowing that you are supporting 130 odd local job in Lithgow, right hear in Australia!
***** Exactly :D
I wish they have 17 wsm
Take my money! been waiting on this for ages and you've delivered! RIPPER!
You won't be sorry, these rifles shoot, simple as that!
Once they expand the calibers I'll happily have a safe full of these awesome pieces of Australian engineering. I'm thinking 223, 6.5x55 or 260 and a 300 winmag. You have got to love an Australian product.
Thanks for the review Ozzie, outstanding, as always.
Thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed watching it and can understand your stance on Australian-made as I feel exactly the same...
love the consistancy/style of the reviews, been waiting for this one especially :)
Awesome video mate. I am glad its a great shooter, it's good to see an Australian company doing well.
Yep I agree, thanks for watching Daz
Absolutely outstanding as expected.
Picked up my .308 signature edition a few weeks ago and i love it !
Great review. Lithgow 308 all the way.
Absolutely!
Great review Ozzie, been hanging out for this one. You just helped me finish my Christmas wish list. So glad to see Lithgow Arms putting out such quality products.
Me too mate
you finally got your hands on one Ozzie! nice. there will be lots of people happy to see this review including me.
I'm just happy I got it done and online as it's be highly requested...
Thanks Ozzie .. Another cracking review .. Great to see quality local produce
Absolutely, makes me proud!
Man this guy can shoot
Ozzie your music is pretty filthy in these intros haha. Love the channel mate, as a fellow aussie, thanks for your time and effort.
Thanks mate, I appreciate that, a lot of effort goes into these for everyone to enjoy, so I do appreciate the support!
i think you hit the nail on the head with you last comment, lithgow should look at supplying a modular chassis system for the 102 GC precision out of the ACT do a nice job . maybe a heavy barrel version and a 20 moa pic rail would be nice long range varminting is a growing sport with lots of $$$$ in it. thanks for the vids mate.
Sure Mathew, I agree, why not expand so that people get right into tricking out their Lithgow? It creates a club of enthusiast owners and generates so much interest in the market - it's just plain cool at the end of the day :)
thanks ozzie this review and the one you did of the lithgow LA101
helped me alot in making my decision to get a lithgow.
Glad you enjoyed it Lachlan, cheers
Great review - I just got one of these also. Haven't gotten to stretch it out yet - but at the indoor range its bullets in the same hole!

They look like a great rifle those birds flying around your target are lucky birds Non got hit great video 👍
Just Remember all you Aussies, whilst LA is based in Lithgow NSW, it is a fully Foreign-Owned Subsidiary of Thales, a French Company!!
DocAV Brisbane
Aussie made rifle and ammo capable of taking any game in Australia (with a well placed shot). Can't ask for more surely?
I am truly stoked to have an Australian-made product perform so well, we as Aussie shooters deserve these!!!
Just bought one, and I'm glad I did, great review 👍🏼
Thanks Ozzie. Gives me something to think about. Good to see the videos more regularly too. Keep it up mate
It's killing me lol but I have a lot of gear to get through...
awesome review mate keep them coming. love the 308 stuff you do!!
Thanks Luke, I appreciate that mate!
You seemed to be sold on the rifle before you even shot it (on film), but the results speak for themselves. Impressive hold over shooting and the grin said it all.
Only because I had high hopes for it's performance based on the 22 and 22 magnum Lithgows that I own...
Love the videos, mate. Keep it up!!
Thanks mate
Darn nice shootin Tex :) That thing is unreal. Great review as always. The best part is it's Australian MADE!
Thanks mate, it's good equipment, so shooting is made that bit easier :)
Thanks for the review. Been holding off buying another 308 while waiting for your review. Nice job. Nice rifle. Time to get one.
Thanks Callum, I can't see you being disappointed with one...
love the ricochet sounds :) LOOK OUT!!!
Awesome review as always Ozzie, definitely getting this one in 308 and hopefully they get aluminum chassis for lithgow guns will be super cool :)
Yeah how cool would that be? I'd love to see it happen!
Boom and the woomera is born...
Thank you Ozzie
Sure no problem...
Thanks for that Ozzie
We have some of that Outback ammo in the USA. Didn't know much about it. Good to know its decent stuff.
I've had mixed results to be honest but it shoots very well in the Lithgow (which makes sense since it's the same company basically)
first time viewer!! in 7 months i get my licence. Will definitely be my first buy!! you have stunned me.
Thanks Faze, it will be a rifle that you will have for many many years...
+ozziereviews will be. its something i can learn with and i would never buy a gun with no recoil. also to keep our farm and land safe from foxes & rabbits. do you have a Facebook page??
Sure, it's pretty popular facebook.com/ozziereviews
My lady has one with a pistol grip and tactical cage and stock, muzzle brake and ten shot mag, vortex 4-16 X 44 scope .
Highly recommend.
I pick up my 308 in two weeks... gotta support Aussie rifle..
Good on ya Ozzie, have one of these now. Stoked!
Great review. It's also awesome that tikka owners can use the polymer mags with the Lithgow!
Yes, I think it was a good choice for compatibility reasons...
Thanks Ozzie, great shooting.
Thanks buddy! The rifle made it easy... it's not my ability ;)
With a 9X scope u clearly have a lot of ability at 1067 yardsmate...lol. Cheers
Maybe a smidgen then... :)
Defiantly looking forward to getting one of these, I would've chosen the walnut though😂
Great review mate. Might have to seriously look at one of these gems.
Yep, I can't see you going wrong with one... I'm amazed at the quality for the price!
Great Review of the .308!!
I'm looking to purchase my first rifle shortly. Primarily target shooting with a small amount of hunting on the side and very keen to buy something Australian Made! I am looking forward to your review on the LA102 in .223.
Thanks mate, yep they all made here which is fantastic!
You mentioned tactical. Have heard about the release of the la105 long range rifle. Can't wait for that review
Loving the no BS reviews by Ozzie reviews..
Would love a Lithgow vs Tikka review
Also, any chance of getting a review on the LA101 .17hmr?
Great review, great shooting 👍
Just got the call to go pick up one of these beauties, same configuration as yours except the scope :) . Can't wait.
Exciting times mate, let me know what you think of it...
Awesome work mate thanks
Thanks for your thoughts on the Trijicon and types of reticle, also looking at a Swarvoski Z3 4-12 x 50 with the ballistic turret, HMM to many choices. PTA approved.
Good feeling to be able to support Australian Jobs.
Cheers
Sure no problem
Did enjoy your review, and have actually bought a black on black .308, just waiting on the LRD to issue the Permit to Acquire, buying Aussie all the way, !!👍👍👍👍
Well my rifle permit to acquire came and I have it now, unfortunately the stage 3 then stage 4 restrictions shut the rifle ranges, I know you did this review 3 years ago, but it’s like you did it yesterday, one thing I would’ve like to have seen was a thumb hole stock and adjustable cheek pad similar to the SAKO S20, but plenty happy with my rifle so far. Mounted an Aussie ZeroTech Thrive HD 6-24 x 50 PHR II scope
Reloading in lock down so loading up some Sierra Game kings 165gr for a ladder test, to what suits, and maybe some rounds with Trail Boss for grins!!
Excellent shooting!!
The "Australian Made" badging seems a little less gawdy on the black version. Also I love the 3 position safety on a 3 lug bolt, 2 uncommon yet desirable features on a rifle. And THOSE GROUPS!!!
+1 I agree, would love to see a tactical version. Great shooting with a 9x scope too, puts me to shame.
lol just good kit mate, makes me look like a good shot ;)
Another great review (:
Is there a chance you might do a review on the Lithgow 223 in the near future.
Possibly yes :)
Yet another great video!
Thanks mate
It's FINALLY here!
yup :)
This will make a good middle ground rifle between my T3 lite and Omark 44. A nice mid weight barrel. And Australian made!
Absolutely!
Nice shooting brother.👍👍
Great work Ozzie, is it possible to get a review on the same rifle but 6.5 creedmoor la102 ?
Thanks again mate
Now worries :)
Please do mention in videos if guns are available for left-handed people as well ( like me ). Keep up the good work Ozzie.
kam
So torn between one of these and a T3x CTR in 308. Living in the UK so no brand loyalty but the Tikka is a far more common sight here. Really cant decide.
How about supporting your commonwealth cousins for a change ? Its a bloody good piece of kit.
I love the 165 Gameking ammo. Very accurate.
and devastating on game!
Looks like an awesome rifle, especially in a walnut stock. I wish they produced a magnum version though; a 338 WM with this sort of accuracy and build quality would be perfect for some of the big critters up north
Great review. What twist is the barrel? Might make a good hunter class f class rifle.
Haha looking pretty chuffed when you got the hit. They have the black on black version in 308 at QSS in Ipswich. definitely the way to go I reckon aswell.
You should of seen my face when I bought it home for the first time LOL
Have included a link to website with a fix from Lithgow that can be done at Home....
www.lithgowarms.com/frequently-asked-questions/#q32
Ozzie perhaps you could include this in your original video of the LA101?
Cheers
Yeah that's good mate, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback, great to see yet another Lithgow owner is happy :)
Great review. Thank you. I am looking for a 308 and I wont be going passed the Lithgow.
Thanks mate, and yep you can't go past it for the performance/price!
Inflations hit hard! prices today are closer to 1700 for woodgrain or 1600 synth
great video I would love to see this review in the 223 and the tikka t3x lite in 223
Hi Ozzie I have the Lithgow LR and wow it groups spot on and I was really going to get the 6.5 but have been in two minds until this review as just don’t want to use it at the range and I want it to use it out on field as well if I was going to put a scope on it what do you suggest as I have always liked more light and have been looking at Zeiss Scopes and have a Swarovski 2.5-10x56 on my Sako and a Zeiss 3-12x50 on my Hmr 17

Well Done Ozzie..
hey ozzie been hanging for the review thank you. I love me .22 lr lithgow are they making the 308 as well for us left-handers?
Like always great review, love you channel.
Yes I believe they are mate, cheers
Hey Ozzie your wish just came true! Lithgow LA102 Elite Shooting System! When r u doing a review?
Hopefully next year...
Is that a fire in the background at 16:15?
Regardless, I'm very impressed with this rifle. I think it's time to trade in the Rem 700.
Yep, burning off for the summer...
If I was only shooting on a range, I'd go the Ruger.
looking foward to seeing how the .223 stacks up, any news as to when this review is coming?
mate great shooting, just one thing, i believe you pulled a couple of those shots, to get a hole shot and then have a round go way off to the right and high is a pulled shot or maybe its the ammo, plus cold barrel shots tend to go off a little as well?
good reviews ozzi. keep on going. best regards from argentina
Thanks, I appreciate you watching :)
Is their any chance that you might be doing a review on the Lithgow la102 in 223. I am considering getting one as my first centre fire and would value your opinion.
I have one on order which will finally be here soon I hear :)
Short answer tho, is buy one, I haven't seen a single lithgow rifle not shoot so far!
damn - that's a hard kicking rifle.............but you shoot it very well mate - especially with only 9 power glass !
Thanks for the review, would you consider this rifle as a walk um up sambar rifle, weight wise? Or is it more a target rifle? Really want to buy Aussie made!
G'day mate how's thing's?. I've got a question for you. My brand new .308 Lithgow is spot on at 100m but I'm finding it very difficult to zero it at 200m(like I'm not even hitting the target🤷♂️)
I've got the Leupold vx freedom 4-12×50, how do you recommend I go about zeroing it?
Ps.... I'm using federal 150grn.
Keep up the good work! Cheers
Will do mate, cheers!
I'm getting the .223 version.
I was considering the walnut stock but their synthetic stocks look great.
If you want timber, I reckon their laminate looks very very nice. I have one on order in 223 :)
do you plan to review the rifle in 223 ?
I'm sure it will happen
I've got a 308 Sako Grizzly and am considering offloading it for one of these. Great review.
Sounds like a plan then...
Hi Ozzie would love to see a comparison between this and the Steyr pro Hunter , your thoughts?
well done i enjoy all your videos. looking at getting a 308 to shot at some distances, and possibly join a long range shooting club. was set on a tikka, but after watching your video on the lithgow I was impressed. do you think the lithgow can hold its own against the remingtons and the tikka?
Love this rifle but can’t find a trigger kit for it in UK
Hey Ozzie,
Awesome video as always, your channel is so informative, your Ruger American 22lr review prompted me to buy one in compact, shoots awesome with Eley subs.
I understand the 102 in 223 review is on the cards but any chance of combining it with the 243? I'm looking at both calibers for my first centre fire but leaning towards the 243 for larger game (pig) capabilities.
Keep up the good work

Thanks Justin, I'll be doing the 223 only at this stage but open to doing the 243 down the track if there is the demand for it...
I'm sold
