Do remember guys not to be too quick to judge people who are in different situations to yourself. It's very easy to say they should have got rid of the rubbish then selves, but it's not as easy as that. It can be very overwhelming when something gets so far beyond what you can cope with. Not to mention the ever increasing cost of waste disposal. They did in fact save up what they could afford and have as much as they could taken away before I got to it. I told them to leave the rest and I would take it away to save them paying out more. We have a full time mum of two young kids and a father who spends his time working as a career for people with special needs, who moved into a house with a garden already left in a state beyond what they could manage. We all need help sometimes. Be kind.
You made a good point. Good people moved into a place already with major layered problems. They did their best to try to work towards progress. Thank you very much for bringing this up to usable and manageable with a Restart. That took a lot of skill, persistence and work. It looks like a good family yard now and your work will be pleasing as well to the eyesight of those overlooking the area.
I was a single mum of three and a nurse working 60 hours a week to keep our home and heads above water. It took me two days a fortnight to cut the grass. My 10 year old son mowed one row and I mowed two. It was depressing to see how quickly grass grew. My daughter kept an eye on the 4 year old and we all kept the yard tidy. To me, keeping your environment clean and safe was important. Today, I am 67 years old and my children are educated and self sufficient and keeping up with the values they were taught.
Very few people would have been willing to put forth the amount of work required to clean that garden, especially the pile of dirt and bricks. That is back breaking work. You did a wonderful job.

You did a great job and I'm not trying to be rude anybody can pick up paper and straighten up if you trying to be nice enough to do something for you I don't understand the concept of that what people don't understand you still can help I've watched the videos and I see other people out helping and all of that and they got them kids could have picked that up thank you for doing that and caring about somebody because evidently they don't.
I do hope the rent payment reflects the state of that yard/garden. I have to wonder about the inside since the back was so neglected. Thanks for your compassion.
First of all I think you were one BRAVE MAN to take on that nightmarish project. I have watched many sites through the years but SIR you deserve an award for cleaning this project. Kudo's to you and it turned out beautiful. MERRY CHRISTMAS and GOD is Blessing you and I bet GOD is even smiling too. LOL
Don’t parents teach their children to pick up after themselves anymore. If the play with something, it has to be picked up when they are fished playing with It would save a lot of their problems and the children learn as well
He said in his above comment. Don’t be too quick to judge who are in different situations to yourself. In other words, look in your own mirror before judging these parents. And you’re not in their life to understand. You were quick to judge and criticize the parents and the children, it’s not your place. You don’t know what they’re going through, so just appreciate him for wanting to help this family, that’s all that matters and he did a wonderful and great job. 😁
Gardening help is expensive and out of the price range for a lot of people. They just need to have a strategy to keep it under control. For example, get the kids to help. Tell them they’ll get, say, a jelly baby for every piece of rubbish they put in the bin. Rubbish in a pile looks better than strewn about the garden. Again offer a reward for every bit they move into a neat pile. It’s a good lesson for the future too. Hard work = reward.
Great transformation. P.S. I’ve been watching UK and Australian lawn maintenance RUclipsrs who refer to the “council”. From what I read, the term “council” is a generic term used to refer to a local government, whereas in the US we use a specific terms of City, County, Town or Village when referring to local governments. Instead of saying Council housing we’d say City or County housing. If we are speaking generically…we’d say “Public housing”. I’ve enjoyed finding out what US word is used in UK or Australia to describe the same thing. 90% of our words are the same. Probably because we’re all speaking English 😂.
The council should have taken the previous tenants garbage, not asking them to maintain, but give them somewhere to start!! 😢😢 Fantastic work 👏🏽 👌🏽 would like to know how many bags you took away 🫣🫣🫣
I sit here in my near hoarder level home and I know what overwhelming means. When you started I thought of the old joke, How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. This was a huge clean up, one foot at a time.
Two days of work and the garden looks amazing. In the true Christmas spirit, you are a wonderful person to help. What a gift. Hopefully the renters will keep it looking good. Thank you. 😊
Wow! Just...wow! That was a Herculean task and you did a great job. I'm sure the parents and the children are over-the-moon happy to have their yard so accessible now. Merry Christmas!
Hard for me to fathom how people can leave trash and debris in their yards like that. Bless you for your hard work and perseverance in transforming that yard. 👏🏻👏🏻 Hopefully they’ll maintain it from now on. Merry Christmas 🎄

What an amazing difference you have made, superb effort. Now the tenant has something that they will be able to manage and improve upon. I once moved into a property with a garden just like that, MUCH worse in fact, and it truly does feel overwhelming. Fortunately I loved gardening and enjoyed the challenge. I was also fortunate in that I was able to pursuade the local council to cover the cost of skips, 4 were needed.
Having laid pavers for a sidewalk in my back yard and in front of the house,I know how much time and energy it took to place all those pavers around that yard(garden). Great job finding and uncovering all those areas. That'll save lawn cut time in half.
Job well done! Just maybe, if mom and her partner would at the very least pick up the trash the children would have a garden to play in. That is if they are not disabled. Again a great job!!
A lot of these properties are handed over in this shape for the new tenants. If the yard looks like this I can only imagine what the inside looked like as well. No judgement to the current tenant at all. For that matter who’s to say that the tenants weren’t disabled in some way or battling mental illness? It’s a sad fact that these properties are not taken care of by the organizations in charge of leasing them
Hi Mike, first time watching your channel. You did a tremendous job of tidying up that absolutely tip of a yard. I almost shed tears when you said the kids were so delighted after the first day that they played out in their backyard for over an hour after school even though it was very cold. I think kids love cleanliness and tidiness - I've seen it many times. Since it's a youngish couple renting this place, I don't understand why they couldn't have made a start by at least picking up the rubbish and starting to put those bags out for collection. It was inspired of you to make a flower bed by the fence with those rocks. Let's hope they plant something nice in the Spring. Gosh, it looked so shady and damp; I really hope there are some sunny days ahead to dry it up. I'm watching from New Zealand where of course it is early summer. We get plenty of rain too, but it's been gloriously sunny lately. Have a very Merry Christmas and thank you for the beautiful gift of space, tidyness and inspiration you gave this family.
Why should you care? He said in the first comment, don’t be quick to judge people who are in different situations to yourself. Some people don’t know how to follow directions. Lol 🤦🏻♀️
This turned out to be a really cool space, and I couldn’t believe how the patio snuck up on you wow 😂. A nice surprise and the children will always remember this wonderful garden. Awesome beautiful intent you put out into the universe 🙌🙌🙌💯💯💯💚💚💚. Merry Christmas!
What a terrific job!! A great space for the kids and the adults now. A special thank you for being brave and tackling that rock, brick and dirt pile! It looks as if you took away all the trash at the end too. Trash is such a problem for so many people today and makes makeovers like this twice as hard. Well done!! 😊👍👍
Phenomenal! I was wondering if you would tackle that big mound of dirt, bricks, rocks and trash at the end, and I should have known you would! You made such a nice rock garden! Above and beyond!! Merry Christmas to you and your family and a wonderful New Year! You are inspirational!!

I am proud of you!! It is hard to start with an overwhelming project. You are amazing !! Thank you for making a safe play area for the children. It appears it was once a great play area. To move into something like that needed your talent to make it possible for the family to see the possibility of what could be!! Thank you and Merry Christmas🎄🌲⛪️✝️

Hope the children continue to enjoy their clean garden to play in and breathe the fresh air. You really cleaned that corner up nicely. Merry Christmas 🎅🎄❤
Outstanding and very hard labor you put into this property. I love to see patios and walkways revealed. I hope this family will enjoy their new reclaimed back garden.

Oh man what a job that was! The end result is wonderful for the kids. The fact you disposed of that mound of soil to expose more hard surface and the access and a usable gate is far and away beyond anyone's expectations. I sure hope the family is stoked to get rid of excess junk and toys you cleared out of that yard. Noticed what looked like an electric lawn mower. Must not work = get rid of it or fix it. I think that you went further than many would have done on a free job. Bravo!
Agree on that mound of soil… lol. I was like, will he? Won’t he? Then I was like Dear Lord please don’t let someone’s pet be buried there… 😂 wonder if they had a council inspection coming up, I know we aren’t to judge but it is also my sincere hope they keep up the yard-maybe realizing how much energy a kid can wear off while outside playing will also be an inspiration!
Everyone is busy and tired , if you take on a house with a garden and you have children you could at least try keep it tidy for them to play in and get them to learn to put rubbish in the bin , you did a wonderful job sorting out this garden just hope they do you proud and keep it tidy
What a wonderful Christmas gift for this family. I was a carer in learning disabilities myself for 17 years it's a wonderfully rewarding job. Never judge others as none of us know what's around the corner in our own lives. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2024 ❤🎉
This was a beautiful Christmas Gift!😊❤ My best one was given to me from my husband... a new bright orange wheelbarrow! I use it every single day, even for getting my groceries from the parking lot to the house!❤😊
You did a spectacular job. There should be plenty of smiles all around. May I suggest a longer shovel? All that bending over is hard on the back. Merry Christmas.
Good job, well done! Now, wtf is wrong with the so called adults letting a yard get like that with kids running around on it. Sharp metal, bricks, blocks, stones and full lf garage. Shame on them!

Hi MG, watching this a year after your clear up and Im gobsmacked by the difference. It was a lovely garden at one time and youve given the residents a step up to maintaining a beautiful and safe garden for their family. Also I see Sean from Blademate has also commented on your achievement. Thank you Stay well💚🐝
That was a wonderful Christmas present for the family, what a difference all those paths and a patio, making a little rockery great idea, and taking all the rubbish. Well done you and Happy Christmas ❤❤Wiltshire
No matter how the gardener earns his money via invoice or via RUclips. As the owner of the garden, you can at least remove the rubbish from the lawn yourself. A gardener is not a garbage collector.
That was a lot to sort out and you did a great job of it! The kids will certainly appreciate all your efforts! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and yours!
This one was epic, you should be proud. Well done, Mike!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2024 ❤🎉
the buried patio, what an incredible find!!! that'll be so nice for the family!!!
Cleaning that garden was a Christmas miracle! Great job! 👍
Thank you for all you do to improve people's lives all year! Merry Christmas❣️🎅🎄
What a wonderful way to start the new year! Your Herculean efforts are amazing
This was a beautiful Christmas Gift!😊❤
My best one was given to me from my husband... a new bright orange wheelbarrow! I use it every single day, even for getting my groceries from the parking lot to the house!❤😊
Brilliant
Lol multi tasking at its best
You did a spectacular job. There should be plenty of smiles all around. May I suggest a longer shovel? All that bending over is hard on the back. Merry Christmas.
Good job, well done!
Now, wtf is wrong with the so called adults letting a yard get like that with kids running around on it. Sharp metal, bricks, blocks, stones and full lf garage. Shame on them!
I applaud you for your patience and working in such detail. That was hard work!
Wonderful job on this property, you made some kiddos very happy and I’m sure mom and dad too. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Легше за все осудити людину,а допомогти зазвичай нема кому.Ви робите дуже добру справу,допомагаєте їм.Інколи важливіша допомога у вигляді фізичної праці.Дякую Вам!❤
You did a wonderful job and hopefully the parents will try and make them pick up after themselves , keeping it tidy,
Wonderful job. Other comments withheld
What grubs! You did an outstanding job and I take my hat off to you. Awesome result. best Seasons wishes to you.
That's was some hard work 😢😢😢
I always find the comments section fascinating. I think it’s easy to say something negative about a person you’ve never met. I very, very seldom make any of these kind of comments to anyone I’ve met for real life. Thank you so much for the work you do. It’s such a blessing to people. I can say that because it would be for me!!
Great point!
Hi MG, watching this a year after your clear up and Im gobsmacked by the difference. It was a lovely garden at one time and youve given the residents a step up to maintaining a beautiful and safe garden for their family. Also I see Sean from Blademate has also commented on your achievement. Thank you Stay well💚🐝
Excellent job 🙌❤👏👏👏
What an amazing cleanup, great job! Happy Holidays!
You fixed all the problems for the family. Now they have a very gardening christmas 🥰
This guy did magic,he was able to make a pathway appear just by moving some dirt😂
In Scotland we get first cut free and the council would have cleared the junk
Just amazing as aleays
That was a wonderful Christmas present for the family, what a difference all those paths and a patio, making a little rockery great idea, and taking all the rubbish. Well done you and Happy Christmas ❤❤Wiltshire
Merry Christmas! You went over and above on this one! ❤
No matter how the gardener earns his money via invoice or via RUclips. As the owner of the garden, you can at least remove the rubbish from the lawn yourself. A gardener is not a garbage collector.
Nice work on a awe full mess the good thing is you can’t make a mistake anything you do is a improvement 😊
That was a lot to sort out and you did a great job of it! The kids will certainly appreciate all your efforts! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and yours!
