Bastille seem to understand, all too well, all that is both beautiful and tragic at the same time

DimondMine27 Bastille no longer fits the pop music style completely which is probably good since most of it is very repetitive and meaningless

You took me to your favourite place on Earth
To see the tree they cut down ten years from your birth
Our fingers traced in circles round its history
We brushed our hands right back in time through centuries.
As you held me down, you said:
"I'll see you in the future when we're older
And we are full of stories to be told
Cross my heart and hope to die
I'll see you with your laughter lines"
Changes on our hands and on our faces, oh, oh
Memories are mapped out by the lines we'll trace
As you held me down you said:
"I'll see you in the future when we're older
And we are full of stories to be told
Cross my heart and hope to die
I'll see you with your laughter lines"
    Ashen faces in cold breeze
    ashen faces in cold breeze
Armed with stories you will leave
Oh armed with stories you will leave
I'll see you in the future when we're older
And we are full of stories to be told
Cross my heart and hope to die I'll see you with your laughter lines
I'll see you in the future when we're old
I'll see you in the future when we're old

No joke, this song single-handily helped me get over my fear of graduation. The end of the movie "Stand By Me" is my worst fear; best friends just separating and never seeing each other again, and not really caring at all. Listening to Laughter Lines over and over again somehow soothed that feeling. It's a promise: I'll see you in the future when we're older! Such an inspiring thought for the future, and a promise that, well, to quote Watchmen, "Nothing ever ends, Adrian." I love this song more than words can convey

My three best friends are all still very close to me, we talk frequently and manage to visit despite now living in different states. It's honestly amazing because I completely forgot about this comment, and reading it again I just think about how my hopes came true.

Reminds me of my old friend. After HS graduation our paths split, i went into STEM, he went into the army. I just saw him after 4 years... when I said goodbye, i realized that it probably would be at least 2 years before we'd see each other again.
Such a sad song, but it brings out emotions

The most beautiful song; so very bittersweet. Sometimes I feel like that with friendships or family members that leave. It's like I have a strange confidence that if we need to find each other and are meant to, we will. And we'll be able to share the stories of our lives.

This song reminds me of my beloved grandpa whom I lost two years ago. His memory still lives with me and I get sadly nostalgic when I listen to this because it reminds me of the sweet memories and laughs we shared and how he made my childhood happy. Even now, after two years I can't hep but cry when I remember him and this song brings back all the memories...
It just shows how powerful good music is ♥

I almost cry every single time I hear this song.
I moved away a year ago, away from my best friend.
She was so busy when I moved that she couldn't talk to me very much.
We haven't talked for so long. The last time we talked, it was the beginning of summer.
She deleted her Tumblr, and when I try to text her, I always get an error message.

dragondude2210 well it is about separating from a friend or loved one, so of course it's sad. But a kinda happy sadness, because you know you'll see them again someday.
