You should revisit an old episode of the 90s Spiderman cartoon. It wasn't universally bad, but there were some atrocious episodes and a lot of reused wonky animation. Like the Clone Saga where he meets Stan Lee. *shudders*

I’ve always loved Silver Age Iron Man. It’s absolutely charming in its ridiculousness and full of wacky inventions/additions to his suit. Also, Tony running around pretending he’s not Iron Man but having to charge his chest plate like every other hour. Hilarious.

Things get really bad with the Captain America episodes.
Guys, remember these were actually panels from actual comics and 'animated' crudely, these were the first 'motion comics' we see now on YT. Just because it looks dated doesn't mean it is crap.
@ArronZ M. we'll agree to disagree. Those cartoons were what led into Marvel licensing other, better animation studios to do other characters such as the first Spider-Man animated series in the 60s.
Nice to see that I'm not the only one who enjoyed the old Marvel cartoons. I always thought that the stilted animation and segmented episodes made it more fun to watch the shows as a welcome change from the usual style of cartoons at that time. For me at least, these cartoons had more of that comic book feel to them whereas the other shows didn't want that.

animation like this shows why Hanna-Barbera was so successful. yeah it's janky and silted by modern standards, but when the only TV "animation" you had to compare it to was stuff like this (the really high-quality animation like Looney Tunes and Disney were only shown in theaters at the time), Scooby Doo must have looked positively action-packed.
I some how ended up watching this as a kid the only thing I remember is Thor lost his hammer how i dont know and drew it in the sand and bam new hammer. So when Hella destroyed it in ragnarok all he had to do is draw a picture of it and pick it up
and then the Hulks friend bumps into him and says "I'm Rick James bitch!"

When I was a kid I used to watch these cartoons everyday after school. Hulk, Thor, Sub-mariner, Iron-Man, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Captain America. They were trash but for a kid it was fun.

Even given full context, the Space Phantom's plan makes no sense. He's going to conquer Earth after defeating the Avengers, but this was issue 2! How does he even know who or what the Avengers are??!! They just got together briefly a short time ago, how are they so famous and why would defeating them help you take over an entire planet?!
Well thor was famous across the universe. And he gets there powers when he traps one. His orignal plan would be thor protects midgar ill get his powers and take over it. But then he learns thor has partners so the plan changed

These old episodes are classic! Love them.
I remember when I was a kid in the 1980’s if you woke up at a stupid early time this was usually on, along with Rocky and Bullwinkle and Thunderbirds, and yes it was horribly crap, I had no idea why it was so bad because I was about 5 or 7, but it was definitely no Astroboy, Transformers or Silverhawks
I remember being hugely excited by this show as a little kid. The channel that ran reruns of the 60s Spider-Man cartoon replaced it with this, and when I sat down to watch what I thought was to be my regularly scheduled Spidey rerun, it was this instead. I was momentarily crushed until I realized it was a bit of a Marvel Superfriends. I was so excited that one of my earliest memories is running out to my mother during the first commercial break as she was hanging laundry on the line and yelling to her about how this new (to me) show had Hulk and Captain America and Thor and Iron Man and Namor and Wasp and Giant Man and Nick Fury and Sharon Carter and Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and so on. I'm sure she was oh so amazed.

Same. Kinda happens with really old movies also. I have a theory. It’s kind of a constant reminder that time moves on very quickly, and we are all going to die, just like most of the people that were involved in the making of these cartoons. Just a theory.

No matter how primitive, if, like me, you were a young child at the time, then these cartoons were a godsend! Our favorite superheroes on television?? We couldn't wait for the next episode. Fondly recall these cartoons!

These are actually fairly faithful adaptations of specific comic stories of the early-mid sixties, except for recoloring Iron Man's early bulky golden armor to match the red and gold of the later armor. The Space Phantom story is taken directly from Avengers # 2.
Also, the voice for Iron Man is future character actor John Vernon, Dean Wormer from "Animal House."

I loved that series when I was a kid! The themes were iconic. They were motion comics before motion comics. Marvel really needs to get these on DVD along with the 70s Spider-Man, and the Toei Spider-Man.

When i was like 5 or 6 back in the 80s, Id watch these old marvels shows here in Fiji and I remember loving the crap out of them. I actually remember one particular episode of Captain America that had these sleeper agents, or these sleeper robots or something, that I really liked and then suddenly when I was playing with my toys, one of them would be a sleeper agent!
Shit animation for sure, looking at them now, but a 5 year old, i loved em.
