Great looking fixture. Thanks for sharing Joe. I love ADJs Vizi series & own every single fixture ADJ has made to date but this one. I was really surprised when I heard the spec's on this light. 220000 Lux & 10m & 770000 Lux @ 5m.. That is the exact same brightness as my Vizi beam 5RX. I thought the 16R discharge lamp would be brighter than the 5R but I guess not. Rather strange.
Cant wait for the reviews, questions: bridge- how many fixtures can you have, whats the range and is there any lag or does it happen instantly eg strobe. For the 16x can you run through the on board controls what the menus are and whats it best to use with eg computer software like adjs or does it work ok on the bridge with the ipad. As its big and is a hybrid does it need a more stable and complex system to run with
Hi Joe, the questions all pertain to the hybrid fixture. How even is the field in Spot mode and Wash mode, are there any hot spots? What are pan and tilt speeds, in regards so acceleration and in regards to the maximum speed? How fast are the internal wheels, do they move smoothly if moved slowly? How fast is mode switching? How is the dimming curve, would I be able to do a 10 second fade to black and it not look like crap? Is there a lot of vignetting at the bottom end? Is the fixture easily calibratible on board? How do the prisims effect the evenness of the field, especially in wash mode?
With the minimum projection distance of the 16RS - is that only relative to when beam mode is enabled? I know ClayPaky Mythos has a similar thing but it is mainly only when your using it in beam mode at full intensity output.
Though I agree that there is a large chasm between a professional lighting designer/programmer and a DJ using lighting to enhance his set-up, that's not really the question I was asking. My curiosity comes from lighting instruments such as the one in this video. It is so sophisticated for DJ grade lighting that it seems to walk the line between the two grades. (I'm a stage manager which is what leads to my curiosity)
By the way, Airstream DMX Bridge will be compatible with Luminair in a very near future. Also with all sACN and Art-Net compatible DMX consoles and softwares like HedgeHog, Emulation Pro, Avolites consoles , GrandMa II and many others... Also, it will connect to an existing Network in multiples, first to augment control distance that now is limited to 25m,and second to use for example 4 Airstream DMX Bridges to control 4 DMX universes at the same time.

Nice video Joe, but do the "12 meter warning" imply that the head could set easily flammable objects in about a meter radius at fire? or is it just because of the danger for your eyes? if the first thing is true could we see a proof? 😏
I mean my ceiling isn't going to burst into flames. However when you have all that power focused into a 3 degree beam pointing straight at a surface with a short distance I could easily create a burn mark on the ceiling. I will be doing a demo to show just how hot this fixture gets!
***** I have a friend that owns a lighting company, he bought eight lights and pointed them straight up, we went re re-park his trucks and can back, There were eight smoking spots on his ceiling! Tip, don't leave high powered lights unattended
I have a worse story! I know someone who left a few Robe Pointe fixtures on and open in home and didn't realise one was pointing straight into the back of a Clay Paky B.Eye K20. Unsurprisingly he ended up with one broken and melted K20!
Hi I'm involved in doing lighting at my School we have 4 moving heads and lots of other lights we use a Zero 88 ML4 board but how do i program the lights to move around the room. E.G. if i programme a cue and then play it back i want the light to move automatically in a preset pattern and then keep on moving. Thank you
could you compare the brightness of this MASSIVE GUY to your others movers ? like inno pocket spot vs Inno spot pro vs Vizi hybrid both at 13° or the nearest ? i think it could be cool :-D
the airatream, i see a usb port?? why. and can this be used on the truss while controlling my rig with my ipad? its like my dmx, but the unit is wireless.
So far it appears the USB port is only for updating firmware on the unit. It works how you describe however is not like MyDMX. Its completely different software but is similar in some ways in that it is scene based. However you can trigger multiple scenes.
Adj are coming out with some brilliant fixtures it's just a shame they have shite controllers...mydmx and the ne1 are OK for pub djs and the like but it's about time they put out a proper console

I wonder how it would compare to an RH1. The RH1 has a smaller zoom range, one less colour and less gobo's but does feature zoom on both the prisms.

I see that the Airstream has just a simple ff jack for powering. For on stage usage I recommend using a kind of locking ff jack..... Nice vid tough
